When I attended the three day wealth masterclass last May, I will say that my motivation was 120% (or even more) and told myself that I can also succeed in this field.
Almost three months later, no success yet. All the houses are starting to go up in the bay area and now I am lost again.
I was so focused before that now, I don't even know where to start again. I am surrounded by people who are so negative that is why I posted this message to hear some good messages from people that I should be listening to. I started listening to Dean's video blogs (again!) but now it sounds too ambitious for me. I hope someone can give light to my darkening path of real estate dream!
It's tangible, it's solid, it's beautiful. It's artistic, from my standpoint, and I just love Real Estate.

You might consider reading another Real Estate book or find a Real Estate Investment Association in your area.
The more thorough the question, the more thorough the answer.
Please fill out your profile with as much info as you're comfortable with.
Thanks.

This is the place to come for motivation. Follow Mike's link and make a plan. Everyone has to find what motivates them, and know how to keep themselves on the path. Find what works for you. I get down too, but I keep working and watching my progress. I want this and I do what it takes to move forward and motivate myself even when I am feeling down.

I went for over a year (almost 2 years actually) without a single glimmer of hope. My home town was small and not conducive to wholesaling. The investor group I belonged to treated me like a fool. I searched for groups further away only to spend way too much money on gas and dues and got very little in return. What was my motivation to go on? It was simple, The balance in my checkbook. Everything I had done up to that point made my balance lower so I needed to change what I was doing to make it go up. It's very motivating. RE is one of the best ways to increase your checkbook balance. BUT, it doesn't happen fast and you have to keep at it.
If are are serious about being a successful RE investor, then do what you have to to be one. Prove the nay sayers wrong. Get up off your butt and do what it takes. Dean's books have laid out a good plan. Some of the more experienced investors on this site have shared GOLDEN advice as well. USE IT and propel yourself forward.
My first deal came from this site. It was an out of state deal. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that THAT would be my first deal. I did what I had to to make it happen. It wasn't too difficult either. I just used what I was taught.
I might have sounded too harsh and I mean no disrespect but the truth is, if you don't have the motivation to succeed, nothing anyone will say will change that. The question is simple: Do you want to be a Real Estate Investor? If you do, do what it takes. If you don't, find something else that will fulfill your life. That's really what it is all about
Much success for your future endeavors, whatever it might be.

if you're not motivated to begin with and that is the bare bones truth.
You can have people on here tell you what you think you want to hear, but most, if not all of them will not think about you much afterwards.
It starts and ends with you; if you don't have reasons enough to make this work, then maybe what happened was/is meant to be.
Mayleen,
I will go out on a limb here, as other's have said your profile does not say where you are but you dropped a hint. I assume you are from the San Fransisco area with your reference to the Bay....but you could mean any bay including Galveston Bay in Texas I guess.
If you do in fact mean SFO, although you say the inventory is drying out there....how about just a little south of you in Fresno? Don't they have entire neighborhoods of vacant houses still if I remember the news stories right? You may not live exactly there, but if there is money to be made....
Keep at it Mayleen. Keep momentum moving forward doing whatever you need to do to move yourself closer to that first deal. Drive for dollars; set up your entity, celebrate the little steps of victory on your journey towards that first deal. Remember an old sales adage, every 'no' response just brings you that much closer to the 'yes' and the (eventual) sale!
Keep the faith.

It hasn't even been TWO MONTHS!!!! I'm sorry to break it to you, but this is not a get rich quick scheme. It can be a LONG, HARD road! It took me almost two YEARS before I got my first deal and I was doing something just about every day!
It is a decision you have to make. If you say "I'll give this a try..." you may as well just go ahead and quit. You have to resolve in your mind that you are going to do it no matter what or how long it takes. No "try" just "DO".
I am not trying to be mean. Just real. Like Elix says, we can say what we think you want to hear or we can tell it like it is.
I wish you well. You have to decide if you want it badly enough or just think it might be nice if it happens.

I firmly believe one of the MAJOR keys to success is taking action when the motivation is gone. You have to train yourself to get up and do it when you don't feel like doing anything except laying around and watching TV.
Alot of Dean's most recent Weekly Wisdom videos have been dedicated to this topic over the last few weeks. Go back and listen to the videos, set your goals, make your action plan, tackle one item at at a time, and most importantly GET UP AND DO IT WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO!

Thank you so much for all the wisdom that you guys shared! All your messages doesn't sound mean at all, actually I felt disappointed of myself being a red light thinker...
I am from San Francisco bay area and when I attend some REI club events I always enter with positive attitude but when I start talking to people, they will be hesitant to talk to me knowing that I just started and really did not make a real deal yet.
I've read a lot of forums but I thought of starting my own because I wanted the messages directed to me.. telling me myself that it is possible to move forward.
Thanks and some more suggestions will be helpful! Or some people who live around here that I can actually talk to will be great! I need people like you guys to be around me... to push away those negative people from me.
