Often, people get frustrated and feel that they are banging away and nothing is happening. This 'looking back strategy' to when you first started is a definite morale booster. It helps you to REALLY see that you ARE making progress!

This is just the moment I was looking both ways: Not quite thinking of quitting, because whether I haven't gotten far, I do enjoy and continue with the excitement of looking ahead towards the goal. At this time I have an out of state property I am trying to wholesale and I'm having a tough time finding buyers. Your words of encouragement have been much needed in keeping me moving forward. Right now I am really struggling with myself and trying not to hit a low spot. That means keeping my focus on REI. Thanks for your post and honesty. I believe every investor goes through ups and downbs with real estate investing, it is natural. The key is to try to have more good days than bad days and it will work out Often it seems like you are not getting anywhere and then a deal might come your way. Try to do one thing each and and surround yourself with posiive people like on dg.com or local rei clubs. You can do it! Believe and Achieve! - Joe

It also helps if new investors start a journal here; then they can look back and read where they started; it also helps them stay motivated and accountable to succeed on their rei journey....

We all should have our own flashbacks, as Karen wrote above: it is a great motivator!
