COME FIND YOURSELF A BUDDY!

Hello Everyone,

This is another great idea from the E.D.G.E 2009 Conference. At the end of the conference we were asked to choose an :investing buddy"

The role of this person is to help keep each other accountable. Its a way for us to have that One-On-One support when we need it.

Lets use Rina and I as an example. We call and text each other on a regular and at times, daily, basis. We discuss REI, personal stuff, ups and downs and so much more. WOW!!!..... isnt that a great thing to have...a person you really can communicate with and also have the same person be your support base in your REI career!

Now for the sake of growing and improving I am suggeesting that WE all select our "Real Estate Investing Buddy"

I partnered with Brenda, Victorville, CA and Lloyd, Louisiana while at the conference. So from now on we will be each others guidance, mentors, supporters and al around NEW friends.

Remember....surround yourself with like minded people and you will have NO CHOICE but to SUCCEED!

So lets start here and tell us who your investing buddy is or better yet post it here that you need or are looking for one.

This community is the best I have ever encountered and all I can say is that if I were looking for great support for me in my REI career, what a better place to start then DG.com.

Looking for a Texas Buddy

Rita has really struck a cord here that so many of us needed to hear. I've been doing and trying so many things from the books but have not made that first buy yet. I think "buddying up" would provide that needed personal touch with someone who really understands the path we've chosen. Encouragement, accountability, and knowledge really make a good base for the kind of relationship for many areas of our lives, and especially us DGers.

I would love to find a buddy in the Houston, Texas area. I actually live in Cypress but my work (residential remodeling) takes me over a wide area.

Like Marc from Calif. my background:
Have always been interested in RE and decided to order a couple of books.
Bought and read "Be a Real Estate Millionaire", got hooked, bought and read "Profit From Real Estate Right Now" as well as "Your Town, Your Real Estate Profits!". I got the home study course "Gain the Edge" (awesome), and both the Automatic Foreclosure Finder and the Automatic Probate Finder and I'm in the middle of setting all of that up. I also listen almost every day to the "Empowering Conversations". I did the COA 800 number and have set that up. I have a list of about 12 buyers, and 4 agents looking and sending leads to me. Dang!, I've been looking at REOs and Foreclosures, but my offers have always been outbid. Oh, well. I'm definitely in this for the long haul. Can't give up. I just know I should have a deal soon. I'm so excited about all this I can hardly stand it!!!

Need a buddy ASAP

Thanks Anita. I love this concept and glad I stumbled across it today. There is no coincidence. I have been thinking that i needed some one in my area whom I would be able to work with, sound out ideas and talk to. This is my 3rd time around and I feel the need to start again in REI even though I am up there in the age contest. I live in the nothern Virginia area but lived in Cape Coral, Fl for about about 3 year. I need to get over my fear. I know if i get the person who loves RE like me I will do it again I am willing to buddy up with someone in the tri-state area or anywhere. PM me.


Team Up

I'd like to team up with someone. I'm from Northern California and I've been trying to do this thing (make my first deal)for a long time. I initially wanted to try wholesaling but at this point anything will work so I've been looking into other RE ideas

I'd love to team up and share ideas. Tell me something about yourself.

Team up

This in a nut shell is about me. I i have 8 grand children and 3 children. My husband passed almost 2 years ago and I now stay live with my daughter and her family while working in NoVA. I went through the terrible downturn in the RE market in Florida and lost everything, mostly. I have no money/credit but i have a job as an asset manager overseeing Tax credit and HUD multifamily affordable housing in a couple of states. Before retiring I worked with the state and local government in the development of affordable housing. i know many government loan programs.

My earlier investing was rehab and rental but that did not work as i did not have much experience in costing the work. I had a few rentals then got out of the business in late 80ties. In 2000 i got back in REI buying for appreciation mostly condos and it worked and i was doing well. Then, I got involved into the New Construction market in Florida in 04 (Took RW REI courses for lots of $$)and got blown away when the housing market went bust. i have never done wholesaling, subject to nor assignments but have done lease purchases. I bought all my properties through the banks so no creative deals.

I am gingerly stepping into REI investing again and need an investing buddy to keep me focused and will do whatever it takes for us to become successful. Creative REI is the key.

Having a buddy to lean on is great, but you still need to make it happen yourself. No body is going to bring you a deal on a plate and say here collect the money.
Get out there and make it happen!!! without action there is no result.
