Motivation. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

I had another another great message sent to my email that I think all of our DG family should hear. How would you live if you thought today was your last day on earth? What would you do with your life? What would make you successful?

Stay Hungry

I started working cutting grass at 10, working in a machine shop from 13 to 16, a major retail store for over a year while going to Lincoln Technical Institute right after graduating high school at 17. Took a job with my 1st oil
company at 18 & loved the industry. Went to another oil company at 19 thru 23.
Even though I was an excellent employee, worked long, hard hours thru every holiday, I always had big attitude & almost got fired several times.
That's when I decided to go into business for myself, 1st a sole proprietorship, then formed a s corp, & then started a gas station. Being an entrepreneur was the greatest thing imaginable, it gave me the freedom to make all the rules, think outside the box, hell sell cars, motorcycles,ATVs or
anything I wanted, even if it wasn't pertaining to my normal businesses.
After being in the oil industry for 27 yrs. I retired & went into RE investing full time. You have to STAY HUNGRY all the time, to be successful. Whatever it takes to motivate you, do it ... don't give up, no matter how discouraged you feel, especially to the newbies, keep pluggin until you get that 1st deal under your belt, because 1 turns into 2, 2 into 5, 5 into 10 & the next thing you'll know, you will be giving all of us a "run for the money." Gary

Stay Hungrey Stay Foolish

Wow! Very similar I bet to many of us, but how many of us have the courage to follow our hearts. I graduated from high school in 1982 not knowing what I wanted to do. I even got accepted to Texas Southern University with the hope to hang out with a friend who believed it was a cool thing to do. "Wasn't my heart." So before I wound up doing nothing I made the decision to join the Army which is where I started investing in real estate in 1995 part time. I had family that I loved very much that didn't believe I could handle the Army, but I retired from the Army in Nov of 2005. "I followed my own heart." While serving in the Army, I even took college courses believing it would enhance my career. After all that's what many others were doing. "It was not my dream." When I got the heart message to start investing in real estate I was scared out of my mind. I prayed to God to confirm what I was feeling was from HIM as I didn't want to make the biggest mistake of my life, which was to fail. After all, No one I knew was investing in real estate. Well, I didn't let the fear of failure stop me. I mustered up enough courage to invest in my first property selling it after renting it for 7 yrs and made $37K. God confirmed in my heart with signs and wonders that followed. I've purchased 12 properties since 1995 and finalizing my 13th as I write this note too you. If all go as planned I will have saved a family from foreclosure and will pocket approx. $10K. However, I must say that I've made some mistakes along the way and most recently made probably the biggest mistake in my fifteen year investing career. Or did I? After all, Mr. Jobs said we are already Naked and we have nothing to lose. Although I've made mistakes I've also made some money and I never desired to quit. You see, "I'm following my heart". I believe, as I have studied many that have played this game long before me, that "The Path Way To Success is Failure". I also believe that, We Never Fail in Life We only Experience Life." To conclude, I also believe that to not follow your heart is the Worst Experience in Life! Stay Hungrey, Stay Foolish!

every day the last

Hi Tammy I work as if every day, hour and minute is my last, we just dont know, but we can give it are all, feel, taste, soak in and live it, thanks, Jim ( it doesnt happen in comfort zones, you cant confine our selves if we want to really taste what life really offers and when we make that first step out and never look back well then you will taste what real freedom is and the journey is truely awesome, have the courage and never look back, yes we may run into a bump, hill or even a mountain, just keep that kid in us going and never quit reaching out and seeing whats over the next hill and learning whats new, always exploring,ah an what we will learn, thats where the blessing and true life begin, isnt life awesome!!!!!!!!!)
