OfflineIts just amazing what a couple of deals can do, isn't it? As many of you know, my husband has been critical of my entire journey, and has not stood behind me at all. This slowly started to change after taking my first property subject to.
But, with this most recent deal has him ready to take action with me! This was a big hurdle to overcome! Its hard to fight the current all the time! God is great! Thanks Dean for all the advice on ignoring naysayers in our lives! And, now look, he's onboard when the deals start rolling!
I'm STOKED! (Ok, giving away my age using that word!) But, this is a GREAT feeling! Just wanted to share!

So happy for you! You've inspired me to keep plugging. I can more than imagine how you must feel from telling a certain someone about my previous ventures and business ideas. Not telling him a thing until I'm holding my 1st REI check in my hands. He's been really sweet lately, but he tends to be critical instead of trying to understand me. Not taking any chances on this one. He's already gone from masonry to scrubbing toilets. Real estate will be just the thing for our family.
Now your husband thinks you're brilliant, huh? The next time he sees you doing housework I bet he'll be trying to get you to stop, so you can sniff out another deal! I hope he's acknowledged how awful he's been to you. That always helps.

Its amazing how he's even watching the kids now so I can get some things done without the little ones crawling on me or the older ones running around being loud.
We got the keys to the house yesterday and went in. He can't believe there's not more wrong with it after going inside himself. Found out it also has an alarm, a central vacuum, and a reverse osmosis system. Even the controller for the rather new garage door opener was left. Now I'm going to call a few realtors to find out what the most important features buyers are looking for in homes in that neighborhood right now to help give the most profitable direction in which to arrange the floorplan.

Just like CathyB, when I saw the title of this post I knew it was you. You have been such an asset to all of us here by sharing things you've learned along the way. It's no wonder we're all so happy to not only hear you've done this great deal but as a bonus your husband is finally coming around. Thanks for sharing the great news and I pray for your future success.
Everyone here has given so much to me. Many people said he'd come around, but living with it daily was very difficult. I am so happy to hear I have helped others on here; I always look up to so many of you and hope I can have some impact on others as well!
Got off the phone with the HML I'm using. I started with one lady who was really great. THe lady she assigned me to is a scatter brain. She was supposed to have submitted my whole packet Wrd, she hadn't even submitted it yet today. Of course he's jumping to the conclusion we're going to lose our $10K first thing, so it not completely gone, but he is helping get quotes on the rehab. I'm sure everything will go through, but lining up a 2nd HML just in case.
It is CERTAIN we will SUCCEED!
