Natcat's Journal

Natcat's Journal

I have been reading Dean's book and have joined a local REI club to really get out there and see who else is investing but I have to admit that I have the fear around me. I'm so excited to get startedbut I don't feel like I understand the concepts or the language of real estate (yet). I know I have to be patient and just keep learning and growing.

I know exactly how you feel. I will never forget the fear and selfdoubt that surrounded me as I began this journey. But with the help and support of everyone on this site I was able to move past that and take action. Dean has provided us with all the information we need to become smart, successful investors, and I have found the best way to learn is by DOING, and YOU CAN DO IT! Smiling

Glad you are here!

AND you've started your journal. Keep talking, and we'll keep supporting you. Don't let fear paralyze you or stop you from action. Like you said...just keep learning! Congrats on getting here and getting this far! It will take some time, but don't give up! Laura is right - you can do it!! The tools and the support are here! Take care and keep us posted Natcat!

Keep on keepin' on...

Your first steps are great! As for not understanding...I understand many RE concepts but there are those that I don't and then I just look them up in Dean's books and on this site. Both are great resources, and here you'll find wonderful support.

You can do this!

Nancy

With the support

With the support you have available to you, failure will not be an option. Off course the unknown will be a challenge, however, with education and knowledge of real estate, we all could do this. "Rome was not built in a day," it will take some time but at least we have the tools at our disposal. the challenge now to to be able to use them to our advantage. Real estate is not difficult. Set your goals as to what your desire and make it happen. God Bless.

natcat,

Congratulations for starting your journal and being an active member on the DG website. As you learn more each day, your knowledge will grow and that fear will be replaced by confidence. You can do it! Just make sure you put together an action plan and do a little each day to move closer to achieving your goals. Good luck with real estate investing. Believe and Achieve! Oh my goodness, I wasn't sure what to expect after I posted my doubt but it's out so I can move on now. Ok, update. I've been pretty busy with work but listened to the call last week and OMG, it was amazing. And this morning I drove around and wrote down every single for sale sign I saw. I'm going to call all of them and gather some information.
I may not understand the whole process, but I do understand I cna run with. That's waht I got out of the call last week.
Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement. It means the world to me.
I'll keep you posted on what I'm doing.
Thank you thank you thank you Smiling

Newcomer

I'm new to this site, and I'm just trying to learn some idea's on how to make money in real estate!!!

Update

Hi everyone,
Have an update. I have to relocate overseas for my fulltime job. I'll be gone for a year. But I know I can keep going with REI online but could not find the site Dean recommends in his book.
I'm trusting God to guide me and for me to stop stressing.
OK, time to go bed, goodnight everyone and thank you as always for being AWESOME. Keep going.

GodSpeed

I'm not sure what site you are referring to...but keep posting on this one while you are gone! It will keep you in the RE world and connected with all the DG family. Best of luck to you, hope you go somewhere exciting and who knows...maybe you'll break into RE wherever you are!

Hello everyone

Hi everyone,
I'm in the military currently stationed in South Korea for about 6 more months. My two little boys are staying with their dad who is spoiling them right now. I'm planning to get out of the military because I'm tired of not seeing my children grow up and not being a part of their lives. They are the reason why I'm getting into REI. To provide for them, to be able to support them and myself.
I don't know if anyone out there has had to deal with this issue I've been having, a fear of success. It's very frustrating to want to do what you know is right for you and take a step forward and then take two steps back. I'm wondering if anyone had to deal with it and how you got through it. I just keep pushing, keep learning and reach out to others for help and encouragement when I get down.

Yeah baby steps

Oh my goodness,
I'm jumping in with both feet. I got the rock bottom blueprint and am so excited. I've made my list of agents to call and I've called them to get the ball rolling. One of the agents I talked to was really nice and helpful, she asked some questions like what price range do I want to be in and a bunch of other stuff that I felt like I was winging BUT I took action and I called and got out of my comfort zone (my new mantra). So pat myself on the back for that baby step of the day and continue on to learning more and just getting more knowledgable about this business.

Congrats on your steps!

It's great that you are back and taking the steps to make REI work! I've stepped in and out and in again and it feels good to take action, doesn't it? Are you back in the U.S. now? As for the winging it part, I think we all have done - or do-- that as well - it's often times the best learning tool! When you act with confidence it's amazing what can happen. I wish you all the best on this journey!
Nancy

advise...

My DG family this is getting very exciting. I feel like I'm entering the rest of life with real estate. It's so weird like I'm having an out of body experience because it feels amazing that I'm taking the steps.
Anyway, I have a question. I've contacted several agents and I've gotten some responses back but they want to meet with me and I explain to them my curent situation. Bujt does anoyone else seem to have an issue or am I making a mountain out of nothing? Just wondering because it's a question that I keep getting. Any advise is always appreciated.
Ok, I'm off to get more names to contact. YEAH!!

It works!

OMG. I got into contact with a real estate agent in my "hometown" of Boston and he has been amazing. We've been emailing back and forth and he's sent me a list of houses to go over in the area. I'm following along the RBBP format and it's working. OMG!!! It's really working. I just have to keep moving forward.

So many changes...

So many changes are going on with my life right now. I just moved across the country to WA and am finally having daily contact with my kids now. I'm very excited to start this new part of my life. Actually doing doing work that excites me and I'm passionate about. Being with my children and being on my own again. And even though all those things are great it's still challenging and a bit hard to get used to.
All I can do is keep moving forward in REI and doing what I need to do to take care of myself and my family.
