Craig's list, the rules we should follow when posting

Hi,

When putting an ad on Craigslist or any of the numerous free online ad services, Like when I'm looking for investors to assign properties I find.

Should I just list my e-mail addy and have them send me their phone number and best time for me to call them back to get more info from them or should I put my cell-phone number in there too, I have my cell-phone setup for voice mail.

What I worry about is the spammers that frequent those sites, any thoughts on how you all do it to get the best results.

And when trying to post on Craigslist in the real estate services section they have to verify your telephone number before you can go any further and the selection of areas to post in is limited, like for instance I'm located in Northern Wisconsin and there are no areas near me on there, or does it matter? Should I stick to just investors that are real close to me or can or should I go out of state for them too?

I can't wait until I complete my first assignment so that I can come back here and help others too instead of just always asking for help:)

Thanks
Gary

Well I tried the Craigslist

Well I tried the Craigslist thing and all they do is flag my ad and cancel it, it only lasts about 3 days if it's lucky, it's either competition doing it or Craigslist themselves, I will have to find other avenues to get the word out, Craigslist is not one of them:(

backpage.com

I don't use craigs list either, I don't like that they have to call your number just so you can post ads, I think that's rediculous! Try backpage.com they're a good reliable source for generating traffic to your services, I use them all the time to find buyers to build my buyers list.

Thanks wrecklessKane, I will

Thanks wrecklessKane, I will give them a shot:) Yea that calling your number to give you a code to post was weird to say the least.

Sorry for the double post, I don't know why it did it:)

backpage

I went on the site and didn't see my area (town or state). I'm in Indiana, I did see Chicago. What should I do. Oh, thanks for the heads up on "craigslist".

Backpage does not list my area..

I followed the link to the nearest town then created my ad. From there I listed the local areas I'm seeking.

Thanks wreckless!

Craiglist

Well so far I have two investors to respond to my posting on craiglist here in south carolina. I have not experience what you have yet. What I'm learning to do is return their calls with a good plan of action. so they will feel this is a win win for each of us.
