New to REI

New to REI

Hey everyone!!

I am new to the Forum. I have just finished reading PFRERN and the student reviews. I just started reading BARM last night. I am psyched and ready to hit the ground running.

While I have no previous experience in REI, I do have 20 years in construction and have had a couple of successful businesses. After the construction meltdown in central Florida, I lost everything. Can't keep a good man down, though. I am a consummate optimist and my smile is irremovable. REI has always been something I wanted to pursue. I just had to get rid of all the naysayers in my life, or should I say, they removed themselves.

I look forward to learning from each of you, and welcome any constructive advice. I love new adventures and I learn fast. I am anxious to get started. I just got the books Friday evening, and I hope to finish BARM in the next couple of days, then I am going to go through the PFRERN and complete the activities in an organized manner. I just want to make sure I have gotten all the information in the books before I start acting on it. I usually have to read once, read twice and take notes and get feedback from those that have acted before me. I'm a little thick sometimes, so I have to approach it in the way I learn.

If anyone is in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, I live in Brooksville, and I am looking for a REI club for networking. Anyone that is currently involved in one, I would appreciate the common goals.

I love the open forum that is available here. I am impressed with the way everyone is ready to share their experiences, the bumps and scrapes along the way, and their successes. It is refreshingly simple, and is a great indicator of the caliber of people involved in this group of investors. I am glad to be a part of it, and look forward to sharing my climb.

That's great your are reading both of Dean's book and I would suggest that you read it 2 or 3 times and also REI clubs and go to www.meetup.com and put in your zipcode and it will give you a few clubs in your area. Good luck !!

Warm regards,

Welcome to the DG site. As Paul said, you have to do a lot of reading, not only the books but this forum. The books and Forum are the theory to the practical process. The forum will give you the facts and daily examples of contract as they are happening. Good Luck and God Bless.

Thanks Paul. I appreciate the website info, and I agree. I read a thread earlier, where someone had read and reread, and like anything, you pick up new info each time. For it to stick, I usually have to read once, then read and take notes and apply what I read. It gets visual and sensory.

I have been following the forum for a few weeks, and it lends credibility to Dean's techniques and integrity.

Thanks Sandra,

I appreciate the welcome and advice. I look forward to encouraging each other for years to come. I have been following the forum for a few weeks, and it is by far the best testament to the people utilizing Dean's applications.

Manuel,

Welcome and congratulation on beginning your path to success in REI! You certainly have the right attitude. That drive and ambition will get you a long ways and persistence is an extremely valuable character trait.

All the tools you need can be found in those books and on this site. There is an overwhelming amount of knowledge to be gained, as well as many people who are willing and desire to help.

I wish you much success and I hope to hear stories of such soon! Smiling

Mike

Thanks Mike!!

Attitude is important. I know that many people have gone through a lot of the things I have had to deal with in the last couple of years. Each of us has an opportunity. We can let the actions of others affect our actions or reactions, or we can take responsibility and show our measure of character and move forward, keeping our eyes on the prize as Dean called it.

I am in charge of my life, as each of you are. I will do this and realize my dreams, and I look forward to each of you doing the same. Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement.

New

Started reading BARM. There seems to be a lot of technicals to understanding the cycles of real estate. Any easy ways to figure all that out. I have humble beginnings, and it seems that Dean's new search tool covered some of that didn't it. I don't mind a little hard labor, but all that research. I guess I just need to reread it again, to understand it better.

Anyway, the books are great, and I look forward to finishing them this week and getting back into PFRERN and get moving on the activities and on to my first deal.

If anyone can give me any insight on the cycles that will make it more simple for a simple minded construction worker, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Manuel

I have read both books and am starting to read PFRERN for the second time, but with a highlighter so I can mark the spots I will need later! I to am just starting out. I think rereading the books will help with understanding better. I myself do not have good credit and no money to invest, but I will find a way to make this happen. Any starter tips would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!

John

Manuel,

Congratulations on reading Dean's book which is packed with great information, tips and techniques. The time is now to take action. Just make a plan and work your plan. Try to find a local area investment club that can help you network with others. Good luck on all your future deals. Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

It is great that all the naysayers are out of your life. Sometimes that is the hardest battle for people. Just read the books and read them again, I assure you, when you go back again, like I always do, you have a tendency to find something that you missed. Also, this site is an awesome tool for questions and comments.

Welcome to the DG family! Just remember you are so much closer to doing a deal now that you have the information in your hands.

We are glad we could help.

Good luck- Stacey

Stacey,

Thanks, and I will. Great tools never wear out, you just get more proficient with them the more you use them.

New to this

Hi Manuel,
So happy to see you have joined the greatest opportunity by far. I am in the home improvement business so I could understand your situation. In fact a couple of months ago I took several trips to Ft Lauder dale to do hardwood flooring and painting in this condo that was a foreclosure steal my clients had discovered. It was about 50% less than fair market value. I noticed while I was there, a tremendous amount of for sale by owners! Real estate has always been the core of America. There is nothing greater than real estate to invest in. Rest assure you have just discovered the best of the best. Dean Graziosi! You have made a change for the better. We have been provided with the right tools and the greatest support system by far. Now all we have to do with our experience is reverse the role. Follow your passion and go forth with conviction! See you there. Continued success.....Lubertha

Manuel,

I believe there is a tremendous amount of opportunity in Cenrtal Florida. The foreclosure rate is very high, there are auctions regularly and there are also many out of state or even out of country owners that have second homes. On the gulf coast in the greater Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater and the surrounding areas there are many opportunities. Also, just a short drive down I-4 to Kissimmmee, Davenport and Orlando there are many vacation or second homes near the Disney corridor in Lake Buena Vista. I believe these homes could also be great for the workers at Disney looking to rent. They are very close and convenient to the Disney World resort area.

I would offer the advice of getting your real estate team together, get organized, get your plan set and work the plan. There are so many opportunities from assigning deals, to bank owned 100% financing of REOs, to finding partners to owner financing. Gather as much knowledge and information that you can and great things will happen. We look forward to hearing about your future deals! Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Paul,

I'm in the Brooksville, Spring Hill area. It exploded here about several years ago, then when the construction industry hit the toilet, work and my livelihood disappeared. I am currently selling automobiles, but REI is what I've wanted to do for a few years.

Hello everybody,I am very

Hello everybody,
I am very new to this site. I first heard about Dean Graziosi from a book I am reading called The Real Book of Real Estate by Robert Kiyosaki. I haven't read Dean's books yet, but this website is great!!. I like Manuel's question about the real estate cycle and understanding it. If anyone can answer that question, I would also appreciate it. I am very new to investing..haven't done any deals yet, but reading alot and asking lots of questions.

I live in Hendersonville, North Carolina...lots of opportunity here...just want to be well equipped on the education end.

New to REI

Like you I'm new to REI but very excited about this concept. I bought both books about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Read PFRERN once through and now I'm reading it again. There is so much to learn in that book I love it! My wife is starting BARM when she is done then I will read that one. Take lots of notes, visit the sites and stay positive.
Good luck

Another newby Day 1

Hello everyone,
I just got my mail about 2 hrs ago and WOW, their here. I ordered Dean's books only a few days ago and was surprised to see them so soon. I'm trying to follow his suggestions and that included visiting this website before even opening the books. After reading some of the posts, I know I'll be in good company with lot's of support.
I live in the Palm Springs Ca. area and there are alot of homes for sale with plenty of foreclosures. I don't know much about RE right now, but I'm going to learn. After 40 yrs in the building trades, it's time to be on the other side of the market.
Now it's time to start reading and learning. I look forward to talking with everyone soon. Thank you in advance for your support. Now go out and close that deal.

Carl
