HI PEGGY I HAVE NOT PURCHASED A HOUSE YET. I HAVE A REALTOR THAT I WORK WITH I HAVE ALSO BEEN TO AT LEAST FORTY HOUSES TO CHECK ON THEM TO SEE IF THEY ARE RIGHT FOR ME. I'VE SEEN A LOT OF GOOD ONES BUT THEY NEED WORK AND I JUST CAN'T GET A GOOD LOAN AND I NEED AT LEAST $6,000. THOUSAND FOR A DOWN PAYMENT. I KNOW THAT THE PROPERTIES IN SAN DIEGO ARE A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ONES IN LOS ANGELES AS FAR AS PRICE IS CONCERNED.
I SUPPOSE WE COULD START TO NETWORK OR MAYBE EVEN START A R/E CLUB. I STARTED WITH REAL ESTATE OUT OF NEED. I LIVE IN A DUPLEX AND WE ARE A FAMILY OF FIVE AND THE KIDS ARE GROWING AND THERE JUST ISN'T ANYMORE ROOM FOR ALL OF US.
SORY I TOOK SO LONG T ANSWER I JUST DON'T CHECK THE MESSAGES BUT FROM NOW ON I WILL. GOOD TO TALK WITH YOU.

Thank you for writing to me. That's initiative! Love it!
My buyer, the one that you referred to, does buy everywhere, can afford to buy everywhere and owns properties everywhere ... but is totally unreliable! (Disappears for weeks at a time, does not return phone/email messages - it drives me crazy. The bottom line is that he is in really great shape and just doesn't need the money that badly)
I am not working with him anymore. (well, never say never, I still have his contact information of course )
Not to worry though, I do have contacts (2 really good, long time, RE buddies) in CA, I suggest you get across that road and start talking to your neighbors today, (if not tomorrow).
Just do it, do it, do it!
Find out the story and get back to me!

I've been trying to get my printer going to get the forms printed up and across the street. As soon as I know from them I'll let you know.
What's the usual a person would offer to put down in order to lock up a property. Funds are budgeted so I need to see what the smallest amount would be without offending anyone.

You are NOT making an offer today, you are just making contact (you are on an information quest, let's say)
Let's not forget they are old and maybe going through a huge life change, your goal is to start a relationship.
Maybe you could mention that you are looking into properties in the neighborhood for a friend! (The word investor might be threatening to them)
