I have to admit Dean:
That ever since I read your first book, I had my doubts. My confident levels are lower than a gophers basement, and I want desperately to get out of this mess.
This weeks blog, really hit home. The fact that I live in a rather depressed community and am constantly being bombarded with situations that take the wind right out of my sails. This Blog helped me realize that all it really took was a drive out to the country, to see how the other half is living. And low and behold, like you said in this blog: ( Our perception, is our reality. )
I have been trying to come out of this winter time depression and have been looking forward to a real fine year. Now I am facing the possibility of surgery that is possibly going to rob me of another summer. This Blog, is my perception of reality and gives me something I can hold on to, until I can get back on my feet again. Thanx again Dean for all you've done.

more people should listen to this

I remember I used to get mad at a lot of things and I can hardly recall when that made it better. I am much wiser now and I try to approach everything with optimism.

If we followed this rule, the world would be a better and safer place.

God bless!

Hi Dean,
I've heard that saying many times and never really paid much attention to it. When you said it, and I thought about it, it made so much sense. Thank you for everything you do!
Bless you!

Just What Was Needed

Dean,

It's been a bad week in our home, but what you said is just what we needed to hear. It's so easy to get caught up in the negative, but choosing to look at the positive does give us hope. Thank you for reminding us of that!!!
Looking forward to a brighter tomorrow Laughing out loud!

That's the TRUTH

You did it again DEAN! That is so much the truth, when you look at life that way, you get less gray's.Life is to short to put your energy into the wrong places.
Thank you you again Dean.

GOD is GREAT ALL the Time.

Perspective is Key

aerospaceman's picture

The way we see things and how we decipher and repeat what we have seen is different for each person. An old story about a thief running onto a stage during a morning college lecture on Law (funny) and stealing a woman's purse illustrates perception to a degree. When each student was asked to report what they had seen...each report was different from the next report. Many were vague, ambiguous, and lacked detail. Perception, is greater when it is fun, less stressful, and not a negatively reinforced experience. Dean's you are absolutely right that perception is one of many major keys to success. Let us all be thankful for what we have and find ways not to be negative or aggressive. God Bless Dean!

Thanks Dean!

So true, every word... My husband just found out the business he's worked for for ten years is closing it's doors. He' very stressed out and worried. I am calm and know things will be okay. I'm not so sure why I feel that way? I am a positive person, I feel that things do happen for a reason. I have been trying to instill that sense of calmness and positive attitude in my family. I feel more in tune with life now than ever. I know good things are coming. I will just have to keep moving forward to receive.Lately, I have come across some great quotes and sayings.

" When you are down to nothing God is up to something". I think that says a lot!

Be grateful with what you have; rejoice in the way things are, when you realize nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you.

" When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better".

Insightful blog (#67)

I have wathched this video several times, and thought about its meaning alot. It seems a simple concept, and it is, but at the same time it is very profound information. Life, and everything therein is a result of how you perceive the circumstances and situations that have put you where you are now. Its all in how you look at any given situation. Trying to find the good in ALL situations will bring you great dividends in return, at least it has me! AWESOME VIDEO!!

Weekly Blog #67

Dean, you are so much more than an REI guy. Peoples' lives are changing every day because of your unusual insight(even at your young age). I'm a firm believer in the perception of reality. As a health care professional I see daily, the things in life that matter most. My patients, their families and myself often share some of the toughest times of their lives. This always brings out the human part of us ,which,is the reality. The gifts of these situations are the good we can't help but find in them or we must try very hard to find. My wife laughs because she knows how positive I try to be, but she never complains when that first parking spot always seems to be open for me when we go out.

my media player doesn't work how do I listen to the audio version of your book

REALITY

Hi Dean,

Is this real or is it a dream? Each being creates their own reality with each choice that they make each day. Will they react with kindness and compassion or greed and anger. A reaction can be thoughtless or planned and then creates a cavalcade of reactions that all run off the original emotion. We can each change the course of the cavalcade by our thoughtful loving input to offset the negative back to positive.Imagine overwhelming all the crazy illogical actions in the world with sense and logic. Move forward and change all for the positive!

God Truly Bless You

Thank you Dean:
This blog reminded me of last week. I was so depressed that most of my funds were held up and I needed to work on my deal. However, even when some people made me mad i kept my sweet spirit and just prayed. I then took in another homeless mother of two even though I currently had government fund held up. Would you believe things were turned around for me. I received five calls from investors and brokers wanting to now more about my community housing project and how they may be able to help me. The project I am working on will give me not only my first deal but up to five community project. They each like how i turn my home into a project for the community and want me to use it as a model. Thank you Dean for your books, DG family, your blog etc. They all help with my ideas that I am working on. You also help me to recognize that we should use our gifts bless with to complete our purpose on earth. Thank you and may God continue blessing and guiding.

W.O.W (Words Of Wisdom) Dean's Blog #67

Hello Dean,

I look forward to your blogs as they inspire and encourage me to stay focus on my goal - to perceived myself to be financially independent within a certain time frame I set for myself. However, there are people to whom I expressed my excitement of being a real estate investor, have negated my venturing into real estate, specially those that are close to me. This makes it tough for me.

Nevertheless, as the old saying goes..."When the going gets tough, the tough gets going"...I won't let ANYBODY discourage me in any way! I will only mingle with those who have the common vision as I do. I am fortunate that I have you, your ideals, your program, your associates, and all the members under you to turn to. That's positivity in itself.

Thanks again, Dean.

Keep it real.

-Joel

Another great blog

Thanks, Dean. It is sooo true....it's all in how you react to a given situation and what your perception is. If you stay positive and calm, usually you end with a good result.

the way we look at things.

Thank you Dean for that punch in the arm. We do so often get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget to smell the roses. To be kind to one another. Give others the benefit of the doubt. To consider others above ourselves. Life is what you make of it. You control your own destiny. So take control. The outcome is determined by ourselves. Sew good seeds and a good harvest we will reap.

Keep up the great work.

Too Blessed To Be Stressed!

Well said Dean !

Glad to hear topics like this being addressed.

It's as the Bible reads :

" As a man thinketh , so is he. "

If you think you are a success , you are .
If you think you are a failure , you are.

Simple as that.

Week three

Well, my head is spinning with a ton of information. I might have an awesome way of getting private lenders. I stumbled onto this on CRE.com where I attended a webinar and found another way for a "win-win-win" situation..
It's in "IRA's"....We are told that the 3-4% interest is good for our retirement. By the time we use it that 3-4% will make us some money.
I have discovered that with a convincing approach
holding a Luncheon I can and will explain folks with Ira's can self direct that investment to something else.."ME" Funding my Real Estate deals.. And in return supplying my base investors with a 10-15% return on their IRA investment.. WOW COOL huh!!

Anyone with an IRA want to give this a try...
You will not be sorry...

I like the fact that there are more than just a few ways of doing anything in REI. Well, it is the morning time and I must get going. I have some goals to work on.

missed this one

Glad i came back to it. Perception does cause changes in reality. Sometimes you need to take a step back and evaluate what you first perceived. Ask clarifying questions for better understanding. Think of the glass as half full. This way you do not burn your energy on a false reality.

Thank you very much Dean

You have inspired me once again; I appreciate
your message. I definitely know now that the Secret of Success is constancy of Purpose.
