I thought if we posted some daily activity in the life of an RE Investor, it might encourage others to get out there and DO!
It doesn't matter how little or much you do, just post whatever. Did you drive a neighborhood, look at a house, follow a lead, send postcards or fliers, make phonecalls? This is all the "work" that leads up to the ultimate success, signing day. Use Anita's 3-house deal as an example. She did her homework. That certainly wasn't her first phonecall of the week!

Thank you, too! You also have become one of my biggest sources of moral support and inspiration here, along with all the other DG sisters. I truly appreciate all of your heartfelt PMs and positive posts. It's people like you, Laura, Lena, Dawn, Anita, Sissy, Kate, Sandra, Conny, Cynthia, Erika, Kimmy, Deb, Carol, and all the others that have come and gone that really make this an oasis to come to when the day is done. Get a boost of strength and confidence to go out the next day and do it again.
I am not taking anything away from the guys. I don't know what I'd do without them either, and I've made some life-long friends here, but there's just something about knowing that there are other women out there, working SO hard to live a dream, REFUSING to let obstacles block their path. There's something about lifting each other up, with no sense of jealousy or competition, just true hope for each other to succeed and standing behind each other in the journey.
I don't know that you find that in many circles. I feel very blessed.
Well, you can tell I'm feeling a little sentimental tonight... I'll quit before you boot me out of my own journal. LOL
Love you all,
Rina

oh no!
I just had one of those moments, when you write down everything you wanted to say and you blinked too quickly/took a deep breath and the whole message disappeared!
Short version:
Thanks for the nice things you said and we all appreciate you more than you could ever imagine.
thanks again. You're a sweetie.
Here's something funny that just happened. I just got an e-mail from the lady who drove 3 hours on Saturday to show me her vacation house for sale in Iron River. It's a newer 3bdrm/2bath mobile home on 10 quiet, wooded acres, FULLY furnished (down to the dishes and linens) and decorated (beautifully), sheetrocked rooms, cathedral ceiling, central heat & air, shingled roof. Anyway, they were asking $110K for it last year (that's what a realtor had it listed for) with ONE acre. Now they're doing it on their own. $75K with TEN acres. Well, while I was there looking at it they said they would take $50K for the house & 1 acre, or additional acreage up to 30 they would work something out. They have land down the road with a cabin, so they want to sell this and apply the money toward that. They have had people that wanted to rent it or buy it on a CD. but they would like to sell it outright.
As soon as they got back to their house on Saturday (3 hours away), they got a call from another couple that wants to buy it. She told them they had JUST got back from there and they were 3 hrs away! We had talked a lot about options they could give while I was with them, and I gave them some pointers on how to word their ad on Craigslist. Anyway, I had told them I would do a little research and get back to them. Well, she just e-mailed me about the other couple. I told her to remember that they had lots of options to offer. Then she asked if she sent me the key to the place if I would want to talk to these people and maybe present some options to them. I am the only one they had offered the $50K to so far. SO, it may work out for a deal for me. lol If not, that's a few more people for spreading my name and trust through word of mouth. I'll let you know in April how it turns out.

even though you appear to be calm as heck through a storm you created and are conquering..way to go! Truly inspirational..
Wanted to ask..I am struggling with a couple decisions and wondered if I might be able to talk to you at your convenience and solicit a little input.
Thanks so much and wishing you lots more love, peace and prosperity through the storm. Kate

I've been away from the DG site and REI business for several months now. Well I'm back and plan to get into REI gear so to speak. As I read through the various posts in the DG forum, gleaning all of the information that I can, I find one particular common thread of encouragement...and that's your many informational, uplifting and generous posts/responses Rinna. Thank you for caring about everyone in the DG family and for taking the time to answer questions and provide us with your everyday experiences.
I just wanted you to know that your time and efforts are appreciated.

Thanks for the good wishes. Of course, I would love to talk to you. Send me a PM with some contact info.

hello DG brothers and sisters...
i want to take a moment and 2nd what rina mentioned about women lifting each other up. i have such a tremendous love and appreciation for everyone that comes here to the site. and i have a sense of relief from not feeling intimidated anymore. so i will say it a million times... thank you all for walking this path with me... it truly is an emotional journey.
here's to living the dream!

Thanks for the info Rina.
I don't know how you juggle everything you do. Between home life and your RE BIZ, you still find time to help out others who are in need of guidance on this sight.
But i for one am glad you find time to reply to everyone who posts for help.
You are appreciated more than you know.
Richie.
Thank you so much, and you are most welcome! (Thank you Richie, you don't know how much your encouragement has meant to ME lately). It is an honor to be able to encourage others and share with each other. I love you guys!
I'll say it again, I honestly learn more here each time I visit the site. Even old posts I read look new to me, as my eyes are opened wider every day. I look back through the archives quite often to glean something I may have missed months ago, when I didn't yet have the knowledge to understand it. Same with Dean's book. Every time I look into it I see something new. You'll really notice it when you use your everyday world as a barometer. You'll surprise yourself at what "wisdom" comes out of your mouth as all this stuff sinks in.
DO NO-O-OT give up!

hi rina,
i must say that not being able to come to the site and do my journal entries or read or comment with yo guys stresses me out. and i'm pretty good about not getting stressed but for the first time in a while this past week, i had quite a dose. so reading your 'do not give up' post was soothing (p.s...i'll never give up). so this journey is a lot about who we become along the way, it seems there r some growing pains going on. change is in the air...oh goodie. if i could do labor for my three children i can do this LOL! geez, i already feel better. so i'm getting back to loving where i am and feeling the vibe of where i'm going(looking good). thanks for listening. it's so good to be home with the DG family. i surely missed u.
here's to living the dream!

As always, we do appreciate the knowledge, skills and support imparted to us on a daily basis. The DG family understand what "each one teach one" is all about. No other real estate forum is as open and forthcoming as this one. Thanks to Dean, his coaches, my DG brothers and sisters, I continue to learn the ins and out about real estate. As with successes, I also understand the challenges. I feel lucky and privileged to be affiliated with this site. Best of luck Rina, we love you.

Glad to hear all is well. God bless.
How exciting is that? I understand how proud you are, I too "coached" my grandson into the world. The BEST BLESSING ever!! Enjoy the newness of it all, it goes fast! I couldn't be happier for you & your daughter!
The cool part about having grandkids is that you can spoil the heck out of him and then send him home! Of course that would be down the road, right now your daughter may not get him away from you!!
Love you,
Dawn

Hey Rina, hows the new addition to the family and the new mom doing?
looks like you will be roaming these forums a little less for now huh? You have a lot of spoiling to do just popping in to say hello.
Richie.
I know the feeling of being a grandparent. I have six grandchildren, and adore them all. I am sure he will add richness and joy to your life.

Thanks for the Congrats!! Sorry for going AWOL, but I’m really taking advantage of the time I have before my daughter and son-in-law and baby are back home in Tulsa. Then I’ll either have to talk them into moving up here, or I may end up moving 800 miles. Lol (Grandpa may have something to say about that. )
Richie- Everyone’s doing great. Thank you! I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Dawn- Yes! Isn’t it the coolest experience ever, being right there? (You’re a little distracted when it’s your own. Lol) Handing him back? I have to? Haha (jk. I’m very respectful of my “role”)
Anne- Thank you and CONGRATS on joining the Success Academy!!
Laura- Thank you! And I’ll plan to ALWAYS be young at heart. My Grandma was “19” for my whole life. I think she changed it to “20” in her 70s. Lol
Sandra- Yep! Enjoying every day. And I will LOVE being adored.
An Al- Six! That’s awesome! I hope to be so blessed. I’ll bet you are a VERY fun Grandpa! Thanks again!
OK,ok,,,
Don’t worry. I haven’t forgot about my REI. Got 4 places in the works. Like always, things take FOREVER up here, and always the little goofy turns of event.
I’ll be back and try to catch up on the posts! Hope to read LOTS of EXCITING stuff!!!!!!!
Love to all,
Rina
P.S. Woohoo!! 69 days to the EDGE!!!!

Congratulations on "starting somewhere"! You're right, you can't get ANYWHERE without taking that first step. Keep us posted on how it goes! You'll make a believer out of your husband!

Hey, that's really sweet. Thanks.
I'll be following your journal. I love reading them and all the strides people make in their REI!
Your P.S. Don't feel stupid. I learn all this stuff from Hazco. I've looked dumb too many times to care. lol
To add a saying or signature at the bottom of your page go to your user account page (just click on your name, it will take you there) then choose the "edit" tab (if there are 2, choose the first one), scroll down to "comment settings", type whatever you like and voila it'll show up in every post you make.
Hope I said that right.
Good luck.
