Went bandit signing last night, ran into cop

Last night around midnight I was out putting up bandit signs. I had pulled over to the side of the road at an intersection and had just put a sign in the ground and was turning to walk back to my car when I got that bright light right in my face (the ones near the side mirror of all police vehicles.) The officer hadn't turned the overhead lights on like I was being stopped, just the one bright light. I was thinking that I was going to be told to take the sign down and maybe cited and fined, but I played it cool. I walked towards my car, stopping next to it as the officer got out of his car and came towards me.

I greet him and he greets me. He asks me something like, "You putting up signs?" I say, "Yeah, for my real estate business." He says, "Oh, like flipping houses?" I say, "Yeah." He says, "Ok, cool. Have a good night."

And that was it! Couldn't have asked for a better encounter. Smiling

Re:

He'll probably go back and see if they're still there, later. You don't want to leave them in more than one place for too long, or they may be taken up, and you may be cited. Cops understand putting them up on weekends and them taking them down. Real estate people do it all the time, like for open houses. It's like citizens doing it for garage sales and the like.

Here's a thought....

I hope you got his name or number. I'd send him a little something if your signs stay there or better yet, so that you can offer him a bird dog fee for anything he sends your way. On a regular cops salary, they would probably jump at the chance to make some safe side money. Sure beats "night watchman" type duties don't you think?

Just a thought.....Eye-wink

Bandit signs

Making my signs up as we type.....and going to put more out tonight and tomorrow. Put up 20 signs last weekend.....and hope to get another 20+ out tonight and tomorrow early morning.

Opportunity?

That sounds like a chance to give im your card. I bet he knows where the empty houses are. Paying for information is what they do also.
Tell him what you do.
Give him a card.
Tell him about the "Police Officer next Door" http://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/program_offices/housing/sfh/reo....

Try to help as many people as possible and you will be rich beyond your dreams.
Help that policeman buy a house cheap that he can rent out and he will tell his friends.

Stay focused
Andy

next time

when you run into a cop, ask him he knows anyone who needs to sell his/her house! Smiling
