OfflineAbout a year ago I won Deans first contest as his top real estate investing student in 2007. The grand prize of the contest was this awesome ski trip in Utah where everything was paid for. Part of the contest was an opportunity to sit down with Dean for dinner. To be honest with you I really wasn't that excited about going skiing, I just wanted some of Deans time to discuss real estate investing. Skiing in the top resort in America is probably alright but, for me, I get excited about real estate investing. I ended up calling Deans company and asking them if I could trade in the trip for something different. What could possibly be better than a 5 star trip? I'll tell you. I called Deans company and said "I would be willing to give up the trip if I could just spend more one on one time with Dean." My friends thought I was crazy, but I realized the value of being with Dean, live, in person, to be able to pick his brain and find out exactly what the best "secrets" are right now. It was awesome! I brought my notebook and I got to spend quite a bit of extra time with Dean since I flew into Phoenix where he is located. I got to ask him a ton of questions. It was really cool. (He still took care of me on the trip and I had the time of my life the whole week.) All of this got me thinking. I always see all of these other real estate gurus promoting live seminars and I am not even sure if they have bought any real estate in the last 10 years! Dean buys real estate every month and I just feel he could really help a lot of people if he would have a live event where people could come and learn from him and his staff. Dean knows real estate. His stuff is leading edge. I always chuckle when I see other "gurus" trying to copy some of the things he brought to the market first. Anyway, we need to push Dean into putting on a live event so everyone has the opportuity I had. Can you guys back me up on this one? Let's make some noise and see if we can twist Dean's arm into putting on a live event!

I just saved up the money for the academy and signed on this last Monday the 19th but let me get in that first deal so I can afford it and I'd spend eery penny I made just to be there you better believe it.
I just signed up w/Deans Academy about 1 week ago and I would love to meet all of the DGFamily in Phoenix... keep us informed of arrangements... LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!
Anyone living in the Gaithersburg area I can network with?
Is it possible to find out a few things such as
1. the exact time so we can research flight costs, i.e. what time it begins on Friday and what time it is over on Sunday.
2. How far it is from the airport to determine if we can fly out Sunday following the event
3. If the price includes hotel or is that an additional cost?
I realize that information is provided after registration but it would be really helpful to have prior to.

Gotta admit I was hoping that cost would include accomodations also, but it doesnt. The schedule of events starts Fri. evening at 6pm and ends Sun. evening at 5pm. Hope that helps you make a plan and hope to meet you there!

Yes, I registered the minute Dean announced it during the conference call! I just put these thoughts in a different post - but will share again here. After I signed up, my inner demons began fighting with me about adding the costs of this trip to my debt column - but deep inside I KNOW my dream of being successful in RE is REAL and that availing myself of first hand knowledge from all these superstars - and of course Dean himself- will be what I need to take me to the next level of success. The post by CBR today reaffirmed that. I am so excited about it - April cant come fast enough for me!

Have any of the DG sisters thought about sharing rooms to reduce costs..I have not decided for sure yet but if I decide to go, I would consider that. In my experience, you spend minimal time in the room anyways. Just a thought..
