I have been very hungry lately. No, I don’t mean for pizza or hamburgers, but for knowledge, good attitude and the pursuit of betterment through my Maker. I have been reading books like they have been going out of style. I cannot read enough on having the right attitude, the right dream, the right business plan, vision and destination. Here are a few of the things I have learned over the past month…
1. Only those who see their dream are able to seize their dream. (John C. Maxwell)
2. For most people, the limitations they face aren’t on the outside, only the inside. (John C. Maxwell)
3. You become what you think about all day long. (Early Nightingale)
4. Attitude is everything and attitude is the foundation for everything. (Jeffrey Gitomer)
5. It’s your thoughts behind the words you speak that create your attitude. (Jeffrey Gitomer)
6. It is absolutely… mandatory that you speak the desired results and speak faith into every situation. I do not stay around people speaking doubt, fear or unbelief. (Mike Floyd)
7. When you speak and meditate on the problem, it grows bigger and covers the answer, but when you speak and meditate on the answer, it grows bigger until it engulfs the problem. (Mike Floyd)
8. There are two keys that determine who we are: who we conceive ourselves to be and who we associate with. (Anonymous)
9. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Prov. 23.7 NKJV)
10. Whether you believe you can or you can’t, you’re absolutely right. (Dr. Dave Martin)
I know these are just statements, but they’re powerful statements. Why are they powerful? They represent the truth. This past week my partner’s long time friend spent the week with us. It was the longest week of our lives because she has “stinkin’ thinkin’!” Everything that came out of her mouth was negative. It changed the entire aura of our house. It was so bad that I even started doubting my whole real estate investing career (Notice I said career and not dream. I am speaking truth into my life). Our church has services both on Saturday and Sunday. We always attend Sunday service. Despite being drained and exhausted after dropping her off at the airport yesterday, my partner and I drove immediately to the Saturday night service. We couldn’t wait to get the negative “cooties” off of us. If spending one week with a “Negative Nelly” can alter your attitude and mood, then what does a month or year do for your thinking? If you are surrounded by negative people who don’t support your real estate endeavors. Get rid of them! As I continue to prioritize my goals in relation to my real estate investing career, I find myself slowly separating myself from the naysayers. Believe me when I say it is a struggle to keep the faith and stay positive all the time, but I know in the end I will be a better and more successful person. When you find yourself scared, unsure or just overwhelmed by all the real estate information… take a breath, envision the END result and then work towards it. All the stuff in the middle; is just that… STUFF!

great post kimmie...I laughed at the cootie part, but I completly agree with what you said about it...The negative people will bring you down, regardless of what the negativity is about...Positive people is where the good comes in, and amazing how far just that alone can take you.
At work, I deal with negative people all day, and at the end of the day, I hontestly feel run down, and don't want to do anything...I literally can feel the life being pulled from me at work cause of people being negative...Including myself sometimes cause of how I feel about work...Not a good thing at all...
At the end of the day, I look for what I really want, envision it like you said, and work towards it...No matter how tired or run down I feel...

Yes, I agree! Negative people sap the life right out of you. So avoid that negative contact at ALL costs. Try to control the conversation with positive replies, give them hope. I have to deal with this at my job too. I'll catch myself chiming in with those negative remarks.... That's when I gain my composure and strike back with both barrels. LOL! I get them to think and focus on the positives of our job or whatever it is they're complaining about. After a while they stop complaining to you because they know you're not going to participate or they need that pick-me-up. Either way it's a win/win when I stand my ground.
I've read most of those books Kimmy and they're ALL great reads. But I find I need more, so I've created my own mind movie with all the pictures and affirmations I need to keep me moving forward towards creating the life of my dreams, (the link is on one of my blogs) but most importantly I recite what I'm grateful for now and for everything I have today. Whatever it is you do to feed your mind with positive, reinforcing, thoughts do it as often as you feed your body. Seriously, it's that important for survival in this world.
Thanks for sharing this with us, you're definitely on the right track. When I was 20 years younger I was thirsty for knowledge too, you remind me a lot of my younger self.
God bless you,

KimmyJ, How i do like your posts! You hit it right on the head when you choose
to use a very powerful word...Attitude! That word is so powerful, I can not
touch it. I did also like the statements that you showed, I myself call them
proverbs!
I really like that...Street/College in you as well!!!
Great post, KimmyJ

But I do a great job keeping negative thoughts and people away from me. Kimmy this was just a reminder to continue to do so and to keep my eye on the prize. Because sonn our positive thoughts and action will become second nature and the negativity wont even be able to invade our minds and hearts, we will be like prison walls as far as negativity is concerned. So DG fam we must keep on being positive and striving towards our goals. Thanks for this post Kimmy and to all those that replied to this post.

not impossible! You have to protect your mind or the doubt, fear and the stinkin thinkin will overcome you. Once that starts, then you begin to question and rationalize why real estate can't or won't work. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER do I want that to fill my head. I want to focus on the end result. If something isn't working then I will find a solution before I say, "I quit because it doesn't work!"

I never even realized how powerful it is when a bunch of people (Investors) put there minds together. I try and tell family and friends how much this site has helped me in all areas of life just as a person.
I can't get enough. One day away from this site and I know I could of missed something important.
Thanks everyone
