OfflineEverybody been asking me when the surgery date will be and I just found out today and its going to be July 29th and it is going to take 5 hrs to do the procedures. I can't wait to hear like you guys and be able to communicate and do phones like you guys do. Last week the original date was Sept 16th and I didn't like the idea because it's my Bday week. My insurance is going to pay all of it. With the Anesthesia cost is something I need to fight with my insurance because it's very expensive.

I certainly hope that all goes well.
My Dad got a hearing aid a few years ago as his hearing was progressively getting worse. When he left the hospital he whispered "I haven't heard the birds sing in years" Of all the noises, that was what he noticed first.
I am looking forward to your reports of how all of this goes. I am not sure when you are leaving for Albany, Tuesday I think. Prayers and blessings and luck and all good thoughts from my house to yours.

Sandra and I want to thank you and your partner for the prayers all day on Wednesday and it is great to know that people care and also have great friends from the DG family . I have a few people from different churches started their prayer chains so I will have lots of support and prayers on Wednesday. Praying I wont be in alot of pain. I sure will keep you all informed. Going to Albany on Tuesday to meet with my surgeon at 2:15 to go over a few things before my surgery on Wednesday and I will be staying at Hilton Garden Hotel next to the hospital the night before to get myself rested up for the morning. I am trying to stay calm and not trying to think about it because it can make it worse for me. I will try to touch base with you all on Wednesday night if I feel up to it.

You sound like a very courageous person. You have the kind of character needed to succeed in life and in REI. Thank you for your inspiration! My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
One note of encouragement. My Father-In-Law had the procedure done a few years back, it took nearly 4hrs, but was extremely successful. I know you'll do well. Is it a bilateral implant or singular?
It is as Sandra says, "God is in control..." The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Psalm 34. You are encircled by the presence of the Lord and He will protect you. I will continue to keep you in my prayers after the procedure, for the successful post-implantation therapy sessions.

Thanks for the nice message and yes it will be bilateral surgery. I just want to do both and get it out the way and yes some do one at a time. I am glad your Father-In-Law was very successful and very happy that he can hear his wonderful family and also listen to wonderful music. Thanks again for my inspiration ! I know I will do very well in the REI and I am sure when I speak to the public at meetings and tell them my life story and now that I can hear. I will tell everybody that they can do this business.

Hi there just met with the surgeon and I have to go back to the hospital at 6 am to get me ready and they will start me at 7:30 am and I will be out of the surgery around 11 :00 am. I am going to go out and have a nice dinner and just relax and this is my last day for the old me and now getting ready for the next chapter of my life to be the new Paul.
Thanks for all the prayers and support !! One of these days u will be hearing me screaming on the conference calls. lol

I came back after dinner and we walked around the campus of a few colleges in the neighborhood. I had to walk all the dinner off and came back to the hotel and saw a card under my door and it was a nice note from you and that was so sweet of you and you didnt have to do that. My family and the DG family have been very supportive with me. I need to get ready for bed now and get up at 6:00 am to take a pill that the dr gave me and will be operated on at 7:30 am.
I will let you know how I make out and talk to you all.

Hey my DG Family,
A quick note and they put me to sleep at 7 30 AND woke up at Noon and the surgeon said everything went well and I will have to go back and see him next Thursday and maybe in 10 days they will turn my ears on about 10 days. We have to let it heal first. I Have to go back and lay down.
