DG family I need your help!
How would I use online research or county records to find out, in a specific neighborhood or area, what is the general trend of the market, what the average price of each type of home is, what the average price of homes are, what the most in demand size and type of home is, what the quality of the neighborhood or area is(like is crime increasing/decreasing, homes being remodeled, area cleaned up), is the infrastructure good( roads not cracked up, no potholes, etc..), is the city focusing money on that area in an effort to rejuvenate it, if the city has actually implemented its programs, and whether companies are moving in workers.
Who could I contact in the local city government to talk to about some of these questions? I would rather not bother my agent and I also want to verify for myself that the neighborhood or area is trending upward.
I also want to expand on what I mean by the second question. By what type, I mean, how can I found out what the average price of 1 bed/ .5 bath, 1 bed/1 bath, 2 bed/ 1 bath, 2 bed/ 1.5 bath, 2 bed/ 2 bath, 3 bed/ 2 bath, 3 bed/ 3 bath, 4 bed/ 3 bath homes are? How would you search for the public records for recently sold homes?
Thank you!

a reliable real estate agent who can get you more specific info and faster
I attended a local REI meeting where the speaker recommended taking a 30' ride with a police officer every six months (he does). They will be happy to tell you where all the problem neighborhoods are.
He also suggested talking with your mailman or lady. They also know where to find the good, the bad, and the ugly and are usually more than happy to talk to you while making their rounds. My mail lady is chatty, but busy, so I thought I'd try and catch her several days in a row so I don't slow her down too much in one day.
This was not suggested at the meeting, but my kids delivered newspapers for several years and I still know the supervisor at the office. I plan on paying her a visit and asking her about the neighborhoods, too.
I hope this is helpful.
Well i would check the citys chamber of commerce website and they will give u usually a link u can click on that will lead u to the economic development committee that will give u alot of information about jobs being created and building plans for an area. Hope that helps
