Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #221 - Another Level of Inspiration

Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we going? These are the deep questions we search for answers to. In this episode of the Weekly Wisdom, Dean talks about his discovery about himself during six hours of solitude. What he realized is something very simple, yet profound when it comes to the possible reason you are pursuing real estate success. Watch and then let him know whether you agree...

I agree

That is something to strive for and truly inspirational. Thanks for sharing Dean.

You are so right

Thanks Dean. You are such an inspiration. I spend too much time worrying about making ends meet. I am just getting started but know this will be the last year for constant worrying. I have spent time recently "looking within". I know where I want to go and what I have to do to get there. I am attending Boots on the Ground this month and am presently reading 30 Days Cash. I know I will be successful in real estate. Thanks again.

weekly blog

All the glory be to God, lest no man should boast. I think God was speaking to you Dean. I could not agree more, that money is good, but the love of money is the root to all evil. If we only focus on our lack, be that money, etc.. we will get more of what we focus on. Let go and let god. By living in his will, reading the bible daily while asking for revelations, God will speak to us. The private jets and resorts are great, been there done that, but where the true gift of life is, is where are heart is and the grace of God can be seen in those who ask, seek and find. Enjoy your journey to the next level Dean. It's where all the gifts are and you will know they are from God when they happen. All my blessings to you and your DG family.

Real Wisdom

Real wisdom in this week video, thank you Dean.

Great Post Dean!

Its good to hear words of inspiration when I start second guessing myself...

I came across a gold mine of properties last week while working on another project I have in a small town in WI. I was handed a list of 14 properties that are "For Sale by Owner." As I dug deeper I found the owner was an investor himself for over 25 years and is looking to get out of the business. He was straight forward and said the properties needed work, but if I was willing to pick up all the properties he would be willing to discount them a significant amount!

At this point I was through the roof with excitement! Yesterday I went and started the inspection of the properties... "need work" was an understatement! All the homes will need new siding, furnaces, hot water heaters, along with updates on the interior. This was only 6 of the 14 properties, but the property manger told me the others would need the same updates. I had to take off early to pick my son up from school, so we are picking up on Wednesday to finish the walk through. Leaving the meeting I was still very excited and looking forward to get moving.

As I laid awake in bed last night thinking of the best way to make these places work, I started to worry..."I'm I jumping in over my head!" what if, what if, what if! Making me re-think my current strategy, which is wholesale half, hold the the other half. I started to think about if I was just trying to help people in this small town or is this project worth my time?

After watching the Weekly Wisdom and putting together what Matt Larson spoke about last night...numbers & qualifying sellers! Even if I have to turn them at a 20% discount, that 20% my not be the 30 or 40 percent discount I was hoping for, but that also may not be a 30 or 40 percent market and I won't know if the deal works if I don't put out offers.

Thanks Dean, thanks Matt,

James

Why we are here in REI ?

dglloyd's picture

I have sometimes wondered why I keep going in the REI world when things aren't happening just the way I planned or wanted them to happen--or as quickly as I wanted. But there is something that just pushes me to move forward every day in this business --something bigger than myself. I feel blessed to have a love for this business and know that if I follow my heart, those feelings, the guidance, or whatever you may choose to call it, that I will be taken in the right direction. That does not mean it is always fun or easy, but it will be worth it ! We all DO have a purpose here, and yes, lack of money can hold us back only IF we allow it to. I have been reading the book "Think and Grow Rich" (thanks for the suggestion Jen Gray) and learned that both "poverty and riches are the offspring of thought" ! Thanks Dean, for your motivational messages every week!

Another Level of Inspiration

Getting Money out of the way is exactly what I've been overcoming. Finally, after diligent research and and continual positive affirmation, I'm etablishing my business entity. This is my year!!

Understanding yourself through solitude

AndyS's picture

Hi Dean:
Great for you that you realized this at 44. I came to grips with it at 49/50.
After my divorce, I moved from a place where congestion was the norm, lack of money was a daily thing, stress was everywhere and my life just sucked, to a place so far out in the middle of nowhere that solitude was my nearest neighbor (sans the cows) and peace (of mind) overwhelmed me. I resonate with this week's wisdom because when I first got out here, money was not a problem as I had divorce money to live on and my bills were small. I took the time to just sit back and "find myself." I went from an angry, stressed out, over worked, under appreciated man to one that had gained a better insight into why I was that way. It was only by taking this time to reflect that I have rejoined the human race as a participant instead of as a spectator. I've welcomed my family's concerns about me whereas before I shunned them all. I was in a better frame of mind that I could help others again. I enjoyed what Money could do which is what I believe you were trying to get across to us. Unfortunately, I didn't take advantage of that time to learn more and grow. I coasted on what I had and it all caught up to me. The difference now is that I understand what I did wrong and I am fixing it. My life has come full circle now and peace has once again taken over the stress. As you and others have said" It's not the money, it's what the money can do that's important."

So many people have warned me about and have been so concerned about my having so much solitude. What they didn't realize was that solitude was what I needed to figure it all out. Just as you may have, unknowingly, needed it during your trip. Sometimes you just need to find a place to be alone and think, to find the answers.

Thanks for a great reminder of what I've accomplished and helping the DG family understand what we need to do. Now it's up to us to DO IT!!!!

Have a great, peaceful week Eye-wink

HELP!!!!

pearl4u713's picture

I cannot find WHERE I can start MY journal. There is NO link, no step by step & just many of Rina's posts. I've wasted over an HOUR trying to find out WHERE I can get things going. That's why I stopped the blog. GEEZ. If you make it HARD for people who actually USE computers, how can a non-computer user find it???? I am FRUSTRATED, Have LOTS of questions & need MAJOR help! Try to look at this site from a newcomer's eyes. I am not an idiot but I cannot get my OWN journal started. Hate WASTING TIME!!

Really Enjoyed This One

Dean have not been able to watch my weekly widsom videos, but today I think this one is simple and clear just do it.

Just had to comment

Hi Dean. I saw this wisdom yesterday and revisited it today. At 50, I have been having this same realization over the last while. I originally got into real estate several years ago up in Canada. And, yes, I chased the bottom line. Bragging rights of how many doors do I have? What is my net worth? What is my goal to acquire this year?

Then one day, I sat down and realized that I was working so hard to afford to do things that I wasn't doing because I was so busy working to earn the money to afford them. I realized that I had a very mixed up set of priorities. Even with all the wealth that real estate had afforded me, I was not living the life that I wanted.

Now I'm changing that. Making money my servant, not my master. Using it to create the life I want, not using my life to create money. Lets just say that I am much happier and fulfilled lately. I still have a ways to go and a good real estate career is certainly part of my life. I just feel much more in line with what I want to create now.

So I encourage anyone reading this to take these words of wisdom from Dean's post this week. When setting goals and hopes for 2013 and beyond, set a goal to take money off the table. Ask yourself the question "If money was neither a trophy nor a shackle, would you be doing what you are doing right now?"

Thanks for the wisdom, Dean. Have a wonderful week everyone.

this was great!!

This may be one of the best if not the best WW you've ever done! The end really got to me it's what it's all about. Just getting rid of all the crap and getting it done so we don't have to worry about the bills and if we need to write a check, then money won't be a problem. You just write a check. Thanks for always getting to the core of the why. You do inspire me. It's been a long time coming for me to make a deal and I am so close, I can taste the money in my hands already.
Making offers, checking properties, networking and I'm so close. Thanks again,
-Angel.

Why wait to discover my true self?

Thanks for your video Dean. I'm new to your work and am very inspired by it. I believe to wait to discover my deepest true self after I've made enough money is a reverse of what creates real joy and peace. Only after the realization of my goodness, my strength and my inherent wisdom will the money flow. So why wait until I have the bills paid to be magnificent. I love what you are all about and thank you.

Great Message

DebbieFletcher's picture

Great message Dean! I can speak from a place of achieving an awareness of what life is offering and relate to spending six or more days with just myself. Check out Vipassana.! I highly recommend it!

The unfortunate side for me is the money didn't come prior to the awareness so I at the age of 51 am looking to combine my "spiritual" self with having the money to do the work. I look forward to your event in the Dallas area on February 18th. You might say I am looking to you and what I receive from the event as an answered prayer/ manifestation!

To all the readers, listen to what Dean says, make the money now and doing what you love comes easier. And either way you choose you will get to where you are going.

Warm regards,
Debbie

Get money out of the way.

marykucharczyk's picture

This a comment that I always make. It is not money that we are working for. It is having the time to just be who we are.
By far this is the best I ever heard because it reflected my thoughts and my purpose.

Stay off the water beds:)

okay okay, MONEY OUT OF THE WAY! this will be my new song, I will sing it every day! Almost a nice ring.
I enjoy my time with my thoughts, it helps me to stay upbeat and open minded, however we all forget to be greatfull for times like that, nice reminder.
Last week you spoke about your daughter, kids have a way of teaching us so much, it never stops, enjoy the moments.
Thank you, jill

very nice hat!

Hi Dean!

...In my opinion suffering "is not a good idea", so, allow me to remember you this: next time you are traveling in a boat don't eat 4-5 hrs before; sit in bare feet and/or check on yourself if a magnet will bring you more inner stability. I'll e-mail an attachment with more ideas - don't have the possibility to attach here.

You are doing exceptionally good things with your work/videos. THANK YOU!

God bless you and your family!

WOW THIS WAS YA BOY as always

ButchK1's picture

Dean you always have encouragement in your blogs and weekly wisdom these along with strong support from the couching team I managed to hang in through a tough time I broke my leg in 10 places last May and thought it was over had to work out other things but this was the big blow I remembered something I learned in 1985 during that solitude is this you can be only who you let you self be and if you want change only you can make it happen you need to look inward and let the spirits guide you anyway because of all the support from all I am here and want to get this ride going your Great Dean keep it up thanks

Very True!

So very true! I was just thinking about the same thing today. You can't even get to your "higher self" if you are constantly worried about money. It's like your life doesn't start until you are at least somewhat OK financially. Thank you Dean, your videos are always so inspiring!

Thank you

Dean thank you for sharing that. It meant alot to me.

Such Inspiration...

mykids2's picture

You lift my spirits every time I watch you. Just the positive attitude and happiness you share is very inspirational. As a realtor I have yet to grab onto what drives me. I am very interested in the wholesale and hold and flip, just not sure how to get started.

Thanks for the encouragement you give us all..

Hi

smurfy's picture

I haven't been around much because I don't have internet access at my house for now. I'm at my son's babysitting his cat and house so I have access here (for a week). Anyway, I'm trying to do catch-up and this video is where I'm at right now. I have several things to watch after this, including the report to read. I am turning 55 this year (Shocked) omg, that scares the heck out of me! Because, I'm still struggling with worrying about paying my bills every month, and I'm sick of it! Actually, I am sick because of it. Stress is a killer... So, I'm trying, I really am. I can only do so much with what I have... Thanks for being there for us Dean.

Yep Yep I agree
