New Forum: Start Your Journal Here - Read First

Rina's journal prompted a new forum section where every member can start a journal to document your progress and get feedback on your activities and strategies from other members.

You can add to it as frequently or infrequently as you like, with as little or as much info you want to post.

By keeping a journal you will not only be able to reflect on your own progress in REI, you will be able to see things ideas or strategies that aren't panning out and should be modified, and focus on those that are.

You will also be able to get insight and perspectives from others in a light you may not have considered.

Anyone can start a journal here, from the prospective investor who just got interested to the most seasoned pro.

If you are new member, maybe start with the basics:
"Today I got Dean's book and have read through page X. So far, reassigns sound like the most interesting start due to the low risk and little capital needed."

Then add you go.

Keeping a journal will both instill discipline and continuous action to move forward, the two key ingredients that most people who give up never achieve.

We all look forward to following your progress, trials and triumphs!

Hello everyone and God bless, I'm pretty new to this site, and I'm GLADE to be a part of it, I can see that there are alot of people starting off just like me and am sure that everyday we're on here we learn more and more and become more successful, I just finished the greg murphy section (witch appies to me..no money) and I understand that my job is to worry about my buyers list but my thing is that when I get them I got to understand the contracts, I'll read and re-read the chapter to try to understand more. I just hope I could find some friends in here who will help me from time to time to help me on my path of being a wonderful provider for my daughter. may the Lord bless you all in your goals.Hector Herrera Jr

Navigation buttoons

Is it possible to put the page selection buttons at the top of each page just as they are at the bottom of each page? Also, it would be helpful if you could be left at the same page you posted the comment at after posting. Currently, you are returned to the top of the very first page after posting.

I’m 47 years old. I’m very happily married. Have two young adults, one grandchild and another on the way. I have been out of work for some time and still am at present. I have dreamed of being and investing in real estate for as long as I have been married. 29 years. I have talked to my wife and dreamed about investing in everything there is that involves some kind of owner ship of home’s, buildings, and property of all kinds. Everywhere we go I would say look at that big building, and think someday I would like to own it. Or I wash I was the one to build it. Quick story. As we were young we moved out of the cities some ways and had to carpool into the cities for work. On the way home one night through a smaller city that we drive through every night I had a vision. At the time this city was just starting to expand. There was a large corner field just on the outskirts, on the main road and a intersection that I felt would be very busy. I told my wife that if we could buy that property and put up a large movie theater that we could make some really good money. Two years later someone did just that. I just never had the know how or the drive to take the first step. Learning comes very hard to me when it is out of a book. I’m a hand on kind of person. I purchased Deans book, Right Now and Be a Real estate Millionaire around September of 09. It takes me a long time to get through Right Now. As this is hard for me to do. I still have not fully completed the book and have not even opened the other. I'm very close to the end and very excited to move forward. I’m venturing into this on my own as my wife is not 100% in to long shots as she sees it. Not that she says I shouldn't do this. Money is tight and we have none. Always been told that you have to have it to make it. She has all ways been there for me in whatever I do, and I know that I will get her involved in this and dream as big as I do when time is right. My goal is to find a deal without using none of the money that I don’t have and bringing home a check or two to give it a WOW factor to my wife. I know that I will get this done. I know that all of you are willing to help me. I have been looking and reading all that I can on all the different forums. I see nothing but positive feedback from what I have read and I love it. I can’t wait to get to know some of you. Someday I would like the opportunity to meet Dean in person and Shake his hand. And share my store to all of you. And to the people who like me saw someone on TV that had a dream like all of us here and did something about it. Order a book on line. Or like me save all my penny’s and dime’s. Buy a cashier’s check and send it of in the mail.

Just doing some research on a Sunday before I call this real estate agent that I found online with a cheap property. Only thing is that it's bank owned and I read that I should do FSBO's. I have read Deans book and listened to his blogs I've gained a lot of knowledge about becoming an investor but for some reason just couldn't get started, with so many other things to deal with in my life,my husband having a stroke which called for me to learn to take care of a stroke patient and having to help care for my grand kids, plus my job and so on and so forth I just didn't know where to start and how to make time so I said to myself you want to change your life and especially change your zip code so I need to make this work for me and my family, so I just decided to start a journal to keep the faith, and everyone knows without works there is no faith, so I stepping out on faith I read a lot of my fellow DG'ers journals and comments and I so enjoy reading all the human suggestions and life's changes that everyone has to endure, and all comments that help me so much from day to day. I do need a lot of help, and I am striving hard to become the real estate investor that I have been wanting to become for soooooo long I just want to thank Dean his coaches and all you DG'ers out there for all your encouragement. I decided that I should do assignments because of the low risk and high profit this way I can build my cash and do some rehabbing, that's what I really would love to do so if anyone out there have any suggestions and encouragement for me I welcome it with gratefulness.

Just taking it easy and waiting for the realtor to call me. I called him this morning on his cell phone but no answer, he has a nice property and cheap to that I would like to assign but it's bank owned and I don't know if I can get it done.

Well today I have been contacted by an agent from remax prestige and I emailed her back saying that I could work with her as a partner. I told her that I was looking for distressed property also expired listings.

Go to the top left of the page where it says search/find and enter the name of your journal or any other topic you would like to find/research. After you find your journal you can bookmark it by selecting "bookmark this" at the bottom of the very first post. Then in the future when you want to go to your journal go to "my bookmarks" on the left side under main sections to find your bookmarks.

How To Find A Seller

I'm interested in house 946 NW 45 ST, Miami, Florida 33127 its been on the market for average 175 days, its boarded up, grass up to my needs, has a lock box on banister front door but no sign. I don't know what it is maybe its me but realtors seem to be slow in responding for inquiries, like who is the seller, is it the bank or a person? I feel like I'm moving at warp speed and their in slow motion. I've gotten all the information from the internet including miamidade.gov but can't locate seller. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm a newbie with Dean and I am excited.

I saw video #1 and it was awesome. I always thought that probate was abourt dying, but it is opportunities. Here in Miami online at dailybusinessreview.com it has notice to creditors, personal representatives, and attorneys of personal representatives all listed daily. Today 21 notices to creditors were listed.


Organization and Time Management

Watched your video on organization and time management. I keep a pocket size daily planner with me everyday. It has three columns, one for daily tasks, appointments, and daily notes just like your miscellaneous, urgent, needs to be done columns. its great to be organized.

Newbie 07.26.10

I received Dean's book today. Haven't gotten very far, need to start the 7 levels deep excercise.

I am very excited about this material as I believe it to be possible. I just need guidance. I am a little low on self esteme as I just filed bancruptcy. That means, I not only have zero capital but no direction other than this info.

I ordered my books last week they just arrived today. Although I ordered them last week I have already read about 5 chapters on the pdf format and I am so ready to go. New Beginning

I orignally received Dean's material in Dec 09, read some, watched the DVD, moved forward and got discouraged. I'm currently re-reading "Profit from Real Estate Right Now" from cover to cover. I am currently on page 207. Thank you "JESUS" for a fresh start.

Building A Team

Hello Everybody,
Somebody is commiting fraud by robbing my checking account at Chase Bank. They're on a shopping spree at Wal Mart in Miramar, Florida. So I report to my bank this fraud, and they will take care of it and reimburse me for my funds. Great. But while I'm at the bank resolving this issue I speak to a Small Business Specialist, and a Lending Specialist at the bank. Extremely cordial and professional, and when they asked me what do I do I said I am a Real Estate Investor they said OOOOOOOOOOOOOh, I seen dollar signs in their eyes. When I told them I was going to incorporate my business and explained about Rent to Own I got their attention. I said would you like to be a real estate investor their eyes lit up with enthusiasm. I would email them the information if they would put me in contact with the person in charge of forclosures. They would assist me in incorprating online, introduce me to the person in charge of forclosures, and would like to know more about Rent To Own. I'm going to send them emails deangroziosi.com and they can learn on his website how to be financially free. Well, Dean said we should develop repoire with individuals in the banking industry,so I did. It was fun and exciting, these individuals can be part of my team. Dean you are a genius.
