As I meet people all over the country many of them asked why my journal does not have my name in the the title. I often reply that I never really thoguht of renaming it. Several people this past weekend really convneinced me that I should because they have enjoyed reading it so much over the years and they though it would be a good idea. Therefore, I have decided to make a change to the name of the daily adventures. Let me know your thoughts or comments. Thanks for your input! Believe and Achieve! - Joe

The violent storms had moved through much of the Midwest on Sunday and I guess Monday was the calm after the storm. You never know how much you learn to appreciate that you have a basement until the sirens go off in your community and all the major Chicago News channels are telling you to seek shelter now and get in your basement if you have one!

There was a massive storm that moved through the Midwest on Sunday and we pray for all those that lost so much due to the storms. The NFL and City of Chicago decided to stop the game between the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Chicago Bears as they evacuated 60,000 fans from the seats at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Monday was the calm after the storm. It was cool and crisp with branches and some trees down, but our area made it thrrough the bad weather. We decided to look at about 8 houses on Monday and made 3 more offers. We saw some homes that you should run from including extensive mold in one and bowing basement walls in another. As you look at more and more homes you have a bteer idea of what to buy and what not to buy.

I hope everyone is getting ready to have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Everyone can find many things they can be thankful for. It is a great time of year to give thanks for what we have in life, even at times when life can throw us a curve and we may feel as though we have less some years than others. Think about all you do have and you realize that there are things that make life so wonderful.

I often really enjoy the weekend before Thanksgiving. Know ing the holidays are just around the corner are very exciting. Also, when I worked in corporate America, knowing I had a 4 day weeekend coming up was priceless.

The cold arctic weather is here to stay for a few more days. It is a big change in weather when the temperature swing by 40 or 50 degrees. It often makes me wonder why we live where we do. I enjoy the Midwest but each Winter I do think about those warm destinations such as Florida, Arizona, California and Hawaii.

I am going to several open houses today. That is a great way to learn a new area as well as being able to network with new Realtors. The larger your network the more deals you might be able to lock-up in your net. I often think of it as throwing a net out and see what you can catch. The bigger the net or network you cast the more buyers or deals you just might catch.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. The holidays will be here before you know it. It is a great time to help others and be thankful for all the things we do have in our lives. Each day learn to live life and find things that you enjoy to do no matter what your current struggles might be. A positive mental attitude can help take you anywhere you want to go. Well, we are already 10 days into the new year. Can you believe it? Time sure goes by fast and as Ferris Bueller often said, "life moves pretty fast, you better look around once in a while or you might miss it."

I just helped a friend find 2 great deals in Illinois that will make for either a great rental or buy, fix and flip. He was so happy he wants me to help him find even more. I was happy to get these deals closed because the title company has been closed the past few days due to the brutally cold weather and snow. As I had said in the past, good deals do not take snow days!!!

The calendar continues to turn and I continue to be in pursuit of the next deal. Each day, look at listings and make offers. Keep the offer machine flowing. Keep track of how many offers you make a month and try to be consistent. The more offers you make, the more deals you might do.

Looking forward to meeting some investor friends for dinner later today in Sarasota, FL. I do enjoy the warmer weather and finally feel like I am thawing out from the cold. Make every day count. Believe and Achieve! - Joe

The weather is warm and enjoying my time in the Sunshione State. I had an opportunity to meet some friends for dinner and we had a great time talking about the real estate market. There is always deals out there if you are persistent and consistent with your effort.

I have a few counter offers and several things in the works. I am looking forward at building some new networks and doing more deals in 2014. I am really enjoying my time here in Florida and will continue to make some offers in the Midwest as I spend some time having fun in the sun.

The weekend is here so it can be a good time to catch up on all our weekly activities. It is amazing how fast the weekend can go and there never seems to be enough time in a day. Day # 14 of 2014

It is a cold windy snowy day. Had to take a trip to take care of some things in downtown Chicago today. Wow, was it cold. Had a chance to stop for the Express lunch at Gino's East Pizzeria. It was good especially the hot soup and mini deep dish pizza on a cold day. Mmmmmm.

Stacey and I also recorded several Daily Wisdom Videos for Dean's IE Website. It was cold but I like the backdrop of Downtown Chicago in the videos. I am catching up on some things today and working on some other things I need to get wrapped up very soon. Have a great day and make every day count. Believe and Achieve! - Joe

Snow, snow snow go away come back another day! It was cold and snowy today! In the next few days they are predicting the artic blast of COLD to hit the area again and bring with it temperatures to fall to negative 10 degrees or colder with wind chills near 20 to 25 below zero. Brrrrr, my face hurts thinking about the sharp wind biting at my skin.

I am missing the beaches of Florida and Hawaii in the worst way. I recorded a few DG IE Daily Wisdom Videos to share with others near the beach a few weeks back and now I did more DG IE Daily Wisdom Videos in the cold artic air near Chicago. I did not even have one of those media warming vans to defrost in like the Weather Channel.

I loaded up the goodie cooler and went out on an all-day adventure to go look at about 20 houses. It was cold, the roads were brutal at times, but we found a few good ones and mades multiple offers today. Here is a good word of advice, "Deals do not have snow days!" Be safe, drive careful, take your time but try to do what your competition is not willing to do.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I am off to get some goodies at the local grocery store for my friend's football party on Sunday. I will be sure to network and pass out some business cards at the party. That way I am multi-tasking by watching some of the game and building my real estate network. Make everyday count! It felt like we ran a marathon this weekend. We looked at more than 32 houses in the past 4 days. We also were able to get some other things done as well. Today is day # 21 of 2014. The year continues to move right by. We are having more snow, more cold and more overall bad weather in the area. Have to run a few errands and drive by a few homes today. The artic cold is back in the Chicagoland area. SNOW and Frigid COLD! Today has a forecast of - 3 with a low of -17. Wind chills are expected to be between -30 and -40 below zero. I need some HOT deals to warm things. This is a great day to be inside and work on things from the computer. It is hard to believe that January 2014 is almost in the history books. More cold in the area. We have all local schools closed and even several businesses within the area. I still went to look at a few homes. I learned they never shovel the snow of an REO. It is cold and snowy. I am looking forward to warmer places especially Dean's upcoming EDGE Event in Arizona in April. I need sunshine and warm weather to keep the batteries recharged. I look forward to thawing out as we network, learn and visit with the DG family.
