Hello My Husband and I just started with the Success Academy on April 11 2011. We are so excited to be apart of something that Dean has created. We have been reading Dean's books over and over sence April 4 2010 and watch his video blog as well. I've often asked my husband why it has taken us so long to do this. We have come to the conclusion that the ugency of a career change did not present itself until now as he has been laid off for 9 months. We are vary dedicated to making this work to replace his income. Our childern deserve this as much as we do.
So there are first times for everything and posting is one of them after all this time. We just did not feel worthy to post so Charles and I Lucinda will be posting from here on out.

You both came to the right place! DG family are all out there to help. READ READ READ this website and ask questions. We are just starting out ourselves, actually joined the Success Academy last year and didn't do anything because we had also bought a business that took our focus away from REI. But we are hard at it now and have a great realtor, also a great friend of over 12 years that is putting us on some great deals. GOOD LUCK!

glad to have you aboard. This is a great site with many experienced investors who are ready to help you. Mike has some great advise about focusing on the successful investors and doing what they do. But first let me say that I spent too much time getting "head knowledge" and wasted time by looking at too many strategies. Decide which one you want to pursue and spend your time becoming an expert on that startegy then branch out as necessary. And take ACTION!! You can learn more from one mistake than you can from weeks of reading and surfing the web.

Charlie, I sorry to hear about your job situation, but looking back you might consider it a blessing. It made REI an urgency. Best of luck to you guys and let us know how we can help you.

I like Charles and Lucinda am new to the DG family and was wondering what the best way to find someone in my area.(S.F. Bay area) that has had some success finding properties to reassign for commissions. Thanks for any advise.

Hello, my name is Ben. I'm from Redmond Oregon, I finished "Profit From Real Estate Right Now" about a week ago and it's all I want to do with my free time.(except play with my two boys of course). I plan on starting out wholesaling and would really appreciate any advice from the more experienced wholesalers about the recorded message and just some ways to accellerate the process because I am really excited and surprisingly not really scared. I tried to purchase the recorded message from COA and they wanted a referral e-mail address so if anyone has one that would be extremely helpful too. I also want to say thanks a lot for all of the info, I get on at least once a day after work and soak up all that I can.

It feels so overwelming to try to learn everything at once. Im picking one strategy to start and feel confident that once I make my first deal, I will feel less paralyzed.

My wife and I joined Dean's academy about 3 weeks ago. I had no knowledge of real estate. I have learned so much from our mentor and what direction to go in. We are getting into assignments of contract and wholesaling. We set a goal to have our first deal done in the next 30 days. We look forward to working with as many people on this site as possible. Working together and achieving together it doesn't get any better then that!

My husband and I have read Dean's book, went through all of the video blog posts and have spent time here in the forums taking notes. And we've started looking around at some properties, doing drive-bys and getting info online.

We met with our realtor this morning, the same savvy woman who got us into our house a few years ago. And while she's a self-admitted "nay-sayer" when it comes to anything out of a book or course (thanks to the Del Dotto's and Carlton Sheets programs no doubt), she's still worked with investors for decades and she's also as open minded as they come.

My husband told her, "I can see a path that will lead to making some good money," but our agent highly advised we get things "in order"; for example, our buyer's list so we're not putting the cart before the horse. And I'd like to have a mentor to learn the ropes from and pitch ideas to so we don't fall on our faces just starting out.

So that's our story and why we'd love to have a mentor. We just could not afford to buy into the RBB, Edge or the Univ. We have the book and we have the forums. But a little "hand holding" would be nice too.
