Great idea, Joe! We all have seen it around town -- Avon ladies, sign painters, even real estate agents who put magnetic signs on their car or a decal in the back window, but I must say, I have never yet seen a vehicle that says someone is a real estate investor! The costs vary from "cheap" to "expensive" and the sky is the limit -- even "wrapping" your entire car in an advertisement is possible!

As with everything, thinking creatively, differently and not being afraid to put it out there can bring rewards!

I got a few leads that way, one guy said he was trying to catch up to me to get my number! LOL! Guess I was in a hurry that day. I've had my signs on my car for year but the hot AZ weather has faded them, I also had some made about foreclosures and was anxious to replace the old ones with them. I definitely recommend using magnet signs, I haven't seen ANY other investors use them since I've had mine, just remember to drive slow enough so people can get the number... LOL! I got them at vistaprint.com for $13/pair at the time, they might be more now, but it's well worth it if you make thousands right? So thanks for bringing this topic up Joe, great info as usual! ;D

Advertising is definately the key and this type of advertising will open up opportunities. I have never done any car advertising, but may consider it. I just started with a direct mail campaign that I am hoping will provide excellent results.

We are looking around for car magnets. If we find that they are driving business our way we would ask friends and/or family members to put the magnets on their vehicle. We would pay them to do this.

I like the car wrap, that's a constant billboard. Even the magnetic signs will get a notice and like Indiana-Joe said just one assignment deal will cover your marketing cost.

Yes, I definitely agree that business cards are really a huge key to REI success. I always recommend to students to try to pass out at least 100 business cards each week. This will generate great leads because the amount of cards passed out in one year will be more than 5,000 cards! These are seeds being planted for some possible REI future leads. I just put my magnetic signs on my Toyota last night! Every time I got in my car and went somewhere today, I felt a little self conscious but I'm sure that won't last long. I got mine on the vistaprint.com website and they are not expensive at all. Can't wait to get a call from someone that has seen my signs.

I Bought some magnet signs from Vista Print, weren't not too expensive,I just pull them off & put them a diff one of my vehicles including my wife's car LOL.Funny story I have been talking to my wife about getting some Letters put on the back of My Car window "We Buy Houses" Then my Google Voice # for a while now, So as an early Christmas present My wife Bought it for me:)
I have Already gotten Several Leads already from It When I ask Where they saw my sign ,They said Oh I was Behind you on the Freeway. Can you guess which car I always drive Now! I already Have asked some Family members that If I paid for it if I could put one on their car & they agreed , Fairly inexpensive as well, Found a local Guy to do it for under $150.00. 1 Deal should cover this

Ok called into vista print because I could not create a yellow back ground on my car magnet (want it to look like a bandit sign) and i found out that they must do it for you, so they did and now I have a car magnet bandit sign black writing and bright yellow background by using the customize you magnet page and then calling in and having them add the yellow background. It is saved it my account so I can edit phone number in the future to put in different google voice numbers as needed for future magnets. I just thought I would pass this along!

Sorry I missed you when you were in San Antonio recently. Maybe next time! Just wondered...do you have a sign on the back window also? Or do you just have them on the sides of your car? Also, what kind of sign would work best for the back part of the car?
