Have you joined any rei clubs in the area? I am currently living in North Charlotte; however I am very familiar with Greensboro, Durham, and I can navigate well around many smaller towns.

I'm a recent DG fan also, and have been looking for anyone else in the area (I'm just outside of Marion). So far, everybody I've run across in NC seems to be Charlotte or points west.
