Happy Thanksgiving Dean and everyone!

These are tough choices.
I'll go with #3, not judging anyone. Smiling
I anyways hardly listen to news because it's too negative, brings my spirits down and makes me depressed, as for no sugar that's to hard for me especially now with the holidays coming.

Thank you Dean,

Christine

Happy Thanksgiving everybody

Hello Dean I am looking so forward to doing these 3 challenges.

1. I already mastered one that's watching the news I did that years ago.

2. Giving up sugar will be a great challenge which is something I needed to do lone ago.you can use organic sugar

3. Not judging anyone or anything is something I been working on this pass couple of months It helps me to be aware of the things I do as a human being. It's hard at first because in my environment people are pointing fingers everyday at each other, but with practice you learn how to become neutral in those situations.

Thanks again
Looking forward to living the challenge

News, not from the TV or newspaper or online. That's for sure a way to eliminate the sad moods. ( I usually only watch for the weather report so I know how to treat the animals I have outside.) I only get good news from the family Laughing out loud
Sugar, I've switched to more natural sugars but if you eat almost anything, it has some type of sugar in it. Sad So I'm not sure I could really cut out sugar when it's hidden everywhere.

Judging others? I don;t think I do that, at least I hope I don;t. Who am I to judge someone else? Last time I looked in the mirror, I saw imperfections so how can I judge someone else?
So I've challenged myself to get back off caffeine. It almost killed me before yet I somehow inched it back into my routine. That's going to be a real challenge for me. That's something that I have to control and be aware of. The other 3 would be too easy for me now so I stepped it up a notch. Eye-wink I hope you don;t mind, Dean.

And with that, I want to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving. Smiling

Hey Dean..it all sounds good. The no news is easy for me. Ive been without a T.V. for 7 or 8 years and its been great...All those things are going on but its not my business. My life is right around me. The sugar in food is big business...corn syrup...its funny to think we even have sugar on our meats..BBQ sauce,Honey ham. Dont judge people...O.K thanks Dean..

Hey Dean,

Awesome idea, i'm pretty sure that these are areas that needs to be dealt with to get rid of negative thinking. I'm top of that I may have some more time to do other thingslike researching the market. I'm going to do all three challenges this should be fun.

thanks Dean

Your friend and student
Gerard

Greetings

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and your loved ones. I do not have ample time to follow all your weekly wisdom, but I do learn a lot whenever I watch and listen. Sorry, I just have to request for a new password, I've been looking for my notes on it. Possibly my having dual citizenship is the real culprit,(my citizenship at birth and my senior citizenship). Ahhh, senior moments! Thank you and God bless.
Best regards,
Viven

30 day challenge

Going to work on the judgemental thing because I know I can sure be judgemental and really need to work on this. I know it will free up my stress level.

I'm Totally COMMITTED!

30-day challenge

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I will take on #1 & 2 of this challenge for the next 30 days.

LETS DO THIS!!!

30 day challenge

I opt for challenge #3, I need to do them all but I'm curious to find out how I will feel not judging others, wow, family members, co-workers, my perfectionist boss, wow. What about judging myself? The challenge is on.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Dean to you and your family and to the whole DG family.

The challenges

Okay, Dean. This is a big one for me. In 2010 my best friend asked me to accompany her on a journey from Canada to Mexico for homelessness awareness because 30 years before she had been homeless with three little kids. Of course I said yes. One of the things that I learned through that was to let go of stuff. Over the years I had become something of a hoarder. I'm still working on this, but it turned out to be a lot easier than I initially thought. G

Giving up the news has been a different challenge. At one time, I was such a news junkie that I was watching 2 1/2 hours of news every day plus I read the newspaper. This was non negotiable. Thankfully, that hasn't been the case for years. Recently, I was telling another close friend that I wanted to get away from the news and all of the negativity associated with it. And to some extent, it was working. Until this most recent election however, the one thing that I was still keeping up to date with was what was coming into my email inbox. And then I felt obligated to answer many of them because they were supporting causes I believe in. Since the election I have been able to limit my time on email and unsubscribe from many of the emails I have been getting. I'm not there yet, but I have started the process and like the "stuff" that I have eliminated, I am now getting rid of the news also. I have even found a classical music station that I listen to that limits my listening to the news in the car.

As for being judgemental, the same friend that I made the homelessness awareness trip with and I have been working on being non judgemental for quite a while now. I feel I'm pretty successful at this.

I will admit that I am not sure what to do to eliminate sugar. Processed sugar is such a big part of the American diet. Can I get back to you on that?

30-day Challenge

Stephanie Cherry's picture

Hi Dean,

I will take your 30-day challenge and I haven't choose which one I will do. But, I think I will go for all three.

NO NEWS, NO SUGAR, NO JUDGEMENT---OH MY

HEY Dean!!! What a great Idea. I am going to do no news / no judgement and as far as sugar goes I will be working on that.

Happy belated ThanksGiving to you, your family and staff....

Make it a great Week Deb :---))

30 day no sugar

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Dean,
I am going to try 30 days no sugar. It is hard for me but I am going to do my best.
Vahe

Wow!

SgtPetty's picture

Dean, Thanks for the well wishes and I wish the same to you and your family.

Well, I think I will try all three for thirty days because no news is good news in my book, the sugar may be the most difficult because I recently stopped creamer in my coffee so wish me luck on that one. Lastly, I admire this choice because it is such a serious problem in our world and I could go on for hours but I won't i'll want to see if I myself can do it and possible persuade others not to judge.

Thanks Dean!

Humm wow

Thank you Dean you are the Bestest.

1.No News no problem.

2.No Sugar that's a Tuffy especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

3.No Judging hum that can be difficult.
Because I live with a sibling who is extremely negative to the core and disrespects our mother.

But I do know what you mean and felt it inside
when this person went off again and I did not
Judge them. I felt free inside and calm.

I will pick no news for 30 days and work on the no Judging with only one person in mind my sibling.

The no sugar one I have done that time to time
and if I eat good food I do not crave sugar.

But I am weak and I eat it time to time.

I am glad Jay St. Hilaire won the contest you had
he is my favorite Student.

I did not enter the contest.

Dean Thank You So Much You Are A Human Being With
A High Quality About You. Thanks!!

30 Challenge

I also accept - #3, since I don't watch the news or eat sugar.
Thanks Dean for all you do!!!!

Challenge Accepted!

cherriroberdes's picture

Dean you are so cool and I accept your challenge! I am going to take on 2 of these challenges. Challenge 1 is, I will cut out being judgemental for 30 days. Challenge 2 will really be a difficult one for me but I will try and cut out sugar for 30 days..even more difficult than usual since it's Christmas, but hey, I got great advice from someone (you!) about me stepping out of my comfort zone and conquering things that are tough for me! So, here is my commitment and I wish everyone else who decides to jump on board with this all the best! Be strong YOU CAN DO IT!
