Dean's blog

As so many times you hit the nail right on my head with this weeks blog. I sold a house yesterday and lost some money and I am and was really thinking if I should do this agin. I love doing it but am I really able to do it so I been thinking if I should just quit.I really dont want to quit a loser and you speech helped me think should go on. I am going to get your books out agin and see what I am doing wrong and then try to see if I think I can do this. I know it is doable I just need to do it a little different and more like you say in your study books that I went through. Wish me luck and a little more persavance.I will try to keep at.

Credit Repair

I have benen receiving numerous calls about credit reduction and asked if it will hurt my credit by taking them on and have been told by some that it WILL NOT affect my credit negatively and will not cost me any out of pocket $$. I have pretty good credit, just have too much of it which is why REI with Dean I know is my only recourse. Thank you Dean. This is my time to get the villian (me) out of my inner self!

Self Doubt

Dean, you are SO right! We usually don't even RECOGNIZE self-doubt for what it is, or the impact it has on our success! It's so much a part of our life, but it is a LIE! Thank you so much for your constant POSITIVE motivation and for ENCOURAGING each of us to succeed!! God bless you and your family always, Dean! Deb & Mike

negativity

Negativity is the cheapest commodity on the planet.
It's So cheap and So excessive that most of the time you'll get it for free. Sometimes good people will step out of their way and even volunteer with it.
The positive is over rated and will never be given for free. If by any chance one decide to be positive for free, one shell be consider to be a full or strange.

But this is the game: white and black, dark and light, day and night, north and south.

That's life and we have to make our choices every passing moment...

We all pass through our darkness we just have to keep going.
One of my best friends told ma a few days ago: "Everything is doomed to pass away, the good things so as the bad things!"

Sometimes the "bad days" are just a jump step for the good days to come Smiling

Thank you for keeping up!

Student loans question: If someone has a large student loan over $100,000.00 and the opportunity arise to pay it off whats the best way to do this? A part of this loan is at a collection company.

Devil Inside

You're absolutely right about a negative side that holds us back whether its naysayers or the negative mode that my parents brought me up with. Its intimidating that us little guys want to compete with the big real estate brokers who have a R.E. license and experience but vast resources of knowledge. They also carry their bragging rights thru advertising but avoid blame for causing the real estate mess to begin with. We have to fight against ourselves to going forward on this journey.

Thank you Dean for this weekly wisdom

I don't come to the website all the time but every time I'm on the site and listen to your weekly wisdom and other DG family post, I get pump up and want to do more to achieve my goal. I was having a bad day few minutes before I log into the website because my end buyer cancelled on the contract that was set to close next week. I got my contract accepted after several offers and found a buyer that want to buy it and make some money for myself. Now that the buyer cancelled his contract, I am not going to give up. I will work hard again to find another buyer before my contract expired.
Thank you so much for your encouragement every week. God Bless you and your family.

"What? you bought a book from some guy on tv"? "All those people on tv are scam artist"! "C'mon, get back to that JOB YOU HATE"!!! Ha ha, that's great Dean! I really like that! The way you put that last one especially. All of a sudden, I am realizing that I do not HAVE to go back to the job I hate. I don't have to go back to that job that's killing me. That I don't have to live on a substinence/sustinence?.. Uh, crumbs, that just allow me to survive, to do it all over again the next day. I have hope today. I am realizing my dreams, a little at a time. The support is fantastic. Hope to do great things soon so as to give back the support that is so freely given here.

Thank you Dean.

Your Weekly Wisdom this week is right on target. This is what has been stopping me time and time again. Not to mention that fact that I have bad credit, on the last of my unemployment, no job application responses, no money in the bank and a physical challenge that I didn't even know I had until about 6 years ago. Actually something I was born with called Cerebral Arterialventrical Malformation. Say that quickly three times. What the case above, the desire within me is passionate to become a real estate investor. No matter what or how long it takes me to move beyond my villians, I'm not giving up.

Looking forward to learning how to build my credit and staying connected, oh yeah, I didn't mention that I have limited access to a computer. However, no trials, no growth. After getting through these trials there is much growth and life.

Thanks for your motivation and encouragement.

The Villian within me...

Dean...Thank you for this Villian video....I thought I was the only one who went thru this...I do hear that voice...recently Ive lost alot in 2011 from losing jobs/contracts, losing unemployment benefits, losing my gas & light at the same time and because of health issues with Diabetes and no insurance to getting close to losing my vision soon...I had my last few dollars to buy your last book for "30 days to Cash"...because that is the only thing I can afford to get right now...I had lost hope because of this "VILLIAN" sad to say its ME....It's nice to know that at least with your support at least once a week you give me hope to GO on and even though I don't know you....you give me the strength to finish this book off ...even though its taking me longer than usual because of my vision...I will get thru this....Thanks Dean and God Bless you and ALL the DG Family!

Yes, to get in touch with my inner 'Villain.' ...And Creditors'? -Along with Credit Report, can become the outer Villain:( For myself, I never was good at coloring. I go way outside the lines or between the lines; Can't let them contain me. It just isn't fun that way! Smiling

The Inner Villain

LDCOOK55's picture

Yes, I must admit I have long talks with my inner villain. Usually after I watch your blogs and am all energized because of your encouraging words. Then my inner villain will remind me that that I don't have the money to make my first purchase to get things started. Because what if I make a mistake and make a bad purchase and cannot sell to another investor looking to hold the property. Then I am stuck with it and I cannot make the payments on it. What if I cannot get a buyer and need to exercise my escape clause but lose my deposit. $$$$ I am still struggling with my inner villain. I have given it an eviction notice to GET OUT. I always remember your words "knowledge plus action equals results. So I need to act.

Thanks again Dean,

Credit stuff

Posting question(s). How do I get my credit report & score when every attempt tells me my file is freeze locked? Had an attorney work on it and got the results that I need to supply specific information. I don't have some of the required information to provide so they won't open the file and supply the report and score. Can I get around this?

This is the primary villain to most people like you say. I was fortunate enough to have had a mother that did preach don't ... . She just said be sure you have an exit strategy where I could come back and try another way with no harm no foul if it didn't work out. Wasn't always able to do that. Sad . So thanks for the reaffirmation.

Now where is the broke down abandoned armored car with the contents in it and the doors are open so I can get a start??

Be the VICTOR and not the VICTIM!

SynysterAndre's picture

Great blog Dean! And I love that one line that you mentioned..."If you keep the villan on the inside, there's no way you can be victorious on the inside." PHENOMENAL advice indeed! Smiling Thanks again for this awesome Weekly Wisdom Blog and I'm looking forward to the newly updated DG website. Take care and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Weekly Wisdom #164

Dean,

Your words have never been truer. I am, however, overcoming my self doubt. I got a bit of change form Criminal Injuries, and bought a car. It has served me well. I found out that my classes end March 2012, when I thought they would end in June. I had to attend school every day, and go to the library every night with my son. My car worked for a while. There was a problem with it and I still drove it. It is now in the shop with a worse problem and will be there until I pick it up. That's why I have been slow in responding to my e-mail. However, I may not completely finish school in March, but I will come pretty close. I had to walk to a lot of places, and take the bus again. I am working on getting it from the shop; a lot of avenues I thought would be opened, were closed. I am not giving up on you; in fact, I upgraded my phone so I can receive voice messages now, and can also see the telephone numbers of those who call me - all for the same price I had been paying. I will move on to advanced courses in April. I also came up with an idea and a certain company is interested in my idea. I can't tell you because they swore me to secrecy, while they work on it for me. I want to improve my credit score; it is not too bad, but not too good either. With the added expenses for the car; insurance - first and last, CAA fees, so I do not have to pay expensive tows as in the past couple months, etc., I can hardly pay for anything else. I was all prepared to join the EVG with Mike Dillard. I could not. I am still job hunting. I will still get into Real Estate. I have a lawyer in mind and a few numbers of Real Estate companies in Canada, preferably in Milton. I have even begun to lose weight and people are noticing and telling me. I have a little way to go still. I am glad that you mentioned that you are getting back into your workout program. A short while later, I also got inspired and got back into my workout. There are a couple of other factors that made me get back to working out. I will talk about them later. Have a wonderful day and keep taking care of your family.

Talk to you soon,
Annis

Dean your words have enduring value

So, today, about 5 months after you posted this, I'm sitting here flipping through my email collection of you weekly wisdom emails. Yes, I'm a digital pack rat... but I refer to them later, so it's worth keeping them around. Smiling

5 months!!

Now, I am pretty much as ADHD as you are... which means that when I'm on the upswing the ideas running through my head come in a huge flood. It also means that my time to implement them is short before either I lose interest or the Villain creeps in to shut me down.

So on April 20 I was at one of the 3-day seminars hosted by Stephen Edwards and it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. My eyes were opened to so many things that I never even knew I didn't know... some of it was even stuff I didn't know there was TO know. It was amazing. I left with so much enthusiasm that I called the coaches Monday morning, Monday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, and Weds. But the idea that I was working on wasn't getting the immediate traction that I wanted.

Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat... all enthusiasm days. Sunday things started to wane a bit and this morning I woke up to a long list of reasons that this won't work, that I'm crazy, that I really need to just start a small business because nobody's ever going to take me seriously. So I sat down at my desk and started scanning thru your past messages when the title "How to deal your inner villain a beat-down...".

A timely message!

I just wanted you to know that your words have value far, far beyond the people who listen that week. Months, and probably even years later, your words will be useful, even crucial, to people who find them just at the point that they need them most. It's just a natural by-product of giving out of the heart.

So thank you, Dean... for saving my Monday. Smiling
