You are such a giver!

bamagirl6730's picture

You are such a giver with an incredible heart.

Had a question though, are you open for additional supporters? Possibly address to send checks or having a paypal acct (or something) that would be immediate receipt of funds towards donations to add to what you are committed to doing? Just an idea. I typically don't give to most of the "big time' organization that come in after tragedy because if you look at their reports/stats like a whopping .08 to .13 (if that in some cases) of every dollar received actually goes towards the cause. I'd rather give direct to the sources and make the bigger impact. I know the donation that you give will go to making a direct impact for those affected!

Now to the ones whether directly impacted or felt the ripple effect my thoughts and prayers are with you! Even in the incredible amount of emotions and devastation that surrounds you, KNOW that God is STILL in control. He has you in the palm of His hand. I can not explain why what happened did, BUT I do know His plan in Jer. 29:11 (NIV) "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope a future." That what the enemy ment to harm or destroy, God will repay you double for your trouble. (Isaiah 61:7) Encourage you to read the entire chapter of Deuteronomy 28. I love the way the AMP version presents.

Sometimes I believe things come into our lives or happen to us, that is intended to grow us in some way. That even when we pray and pray, don't hear a specific word from God and we feel lost. Like 'where are you?, why did you let this happen?" feelings and thoughts. But much like in school.... the teacher is silent during the test. You have to know God, know His promises, stand firm knowing that you will come out better than before! Don't block the blessings! In due time this shall pass, even though in the midst of it we can't see, if we stand strong....will look back one day and see how God can use our tragedies as our testimonies!

You are the head you are not the tail! You are blessed and highly favored! You will come out better off than you were! Stand strong, help is on the way. God is working even if we can't see it in the natural.
There is greatness within you! That DID NOT get washed way in the storm! Stand firm, you will come out of this stronger than you were before!
As bad as it is to lose our worldly belongings (I've lost everything twice through life events) you realize how fortunate we are. You survived! The stuff is just that stuff. In a blink of an eye it can all be gone! You got it once, you can get it again. Yes, there are things that can not be replaced...but it doesn't nullify the experience. That you will always have. Don't be afraid to begin again!

I pray that the damage, the destruction, the hurt, the pain, the loss, the tears, the tragedy...right now in the Name of Jesus I sow this as a seed. Let the vengeance be yours Lord, take what was meant to destroy and You develop, what was meant to be a loss now be their gain, what was to be a setback You will use as a setup, what was taken You will multiply and repay! I ask that you surround those affected like a warm comforter. That You lift them up and give them strength. That they be bound with your peace. I speak blessings and abundance over those reading this and into their life! Lord you showed us in Mark Ch 6 how you took five loaves and two fish and fed 5,000 I ask in the Name of Jesus you take the financial seed that is being planted towards the relief efforts of this storm and multiply it 1000's of times over to meet the needs of those impacted. I also ask you bless those 100 fold for their generosity in what they give whether time or money. I ask and receive these things in Jesus Name and thank you Lord for the work you are doing! That apart from You we are nothing!

God bless,
Jen

The NJ Spirit.....

AndyS's picture

As I write this, my sick Aunt in NJ is still suffering from the effects from Sandy. She has no power, no phone and on the 7th floor of a building that is on the beach in Monmouth County where she has lived her entire life.

My Aunt is currently dealing with an inoperable lung cancer which has a survivor's rate of 6%. She is in need of medical attention every 3 days to combat the effects of this condition. Once I saw the path of Hurricane Sandy and saw what side of the storm she would be on, I repeatedly urged her to move away from the beach and get to higher, safer ground but she declined. She said to me "I am a New Jerseyite and we don't back down from a fight!" I asked friends in the area to try to talk to her about leaving but they too had no luck. They told me she was saying things like "This is my home and won't leave it" and "I will do whatever I have to to save my home." That's the NJ spirit! So she rode out the storm in her apt. on the 7th floor with no regrets. She watched her town wash away, heard from others of the destruction in nearby areas and could do nothing but wait out the storm.
In the aftermath, she was finally forced out of her building by the national guard. Her caretaker( who lives in another less effected town) was called to come get her. With no working elevator, she had to walk down 7 flights of stairs. A daunting task for someone her age even without her current condition. I was told by her caretaker that even she was amazed as to my Aunt's strength to get down those stairs. But then again, what did she expect? She's a New Jerseyite!
In the days since being forced to leave, my Aunt thinks only of going back to her apt. and back to the beach. Enjoy what's left of her town and lead those she can back from the brink of despair. She is truly an inspiration to those who think this is the end. For her it's not. It's just the beginning of a new chapter.

So my fellow New Jerseyites, take heed. Follow my Aunt and fight for your homes. Rebuild your towns and cities. Regain your normal. You are strong, you are not weak. Take action. Know that there are people everywhere who are willing to help. But most of all remember, you are New Jerseyites and they don't back down from a fight!

May peace find you all quickly and stay with you forever.

Ronda and Family,

Survival

Knowing what you are facing in the North East, team work gets you through! Share your generator with a neighbor and use half of the fuel, they can get fuel one day and you the next... Do the same for food, water, ice, etc. Wish you all well in getting through this. We are still getting past the storms that have set us back on the gulf coast. At one point in time, we had 25 people in our home to feed, shower, and shelter extended family after the storm that hit us. Hang in there, it will get better!

Thanks Dean

Dean,
God Bless you for supporting the victims, and God Bless those affected by this terrible storm.

Please consider putting a few dollars in a basket to put forth a great team of people like me and my crew. I am a Contractor. I will relocate tomorrow with just a few things added to my huge list of tools and equipment. Really I just need a mobile trailer or something of that sort. And I am there rebuilding the eastern seaboard. Seriously, I lived there as a kid. My first projects in construction where in Atlantic city and Ocean City, NJ. I also have some relatives that I can bunk with North. But to make an impact I need to get set up on the shore points. It is going to be years there I know the area well.
And the WOW factor is that there is going to be huge tracts of land available to the ones in the market for land and vacant homes. Some will go to the towns for a dollar. You can bet there is already Realtors and Investors hovering. To be in the area is to be ready to get some of these. The shore is an area full of investment homes. Not just families washed out. There will be a lot of money floating around there in the next few years. Some of you should ask Dean how to reach out and get in. I want in. Plus the impact we can make when the towns are rebuilt and families that know the shore and vacation there every year will be happy to go back. Looking for team members. Looking for Help.
Thanks, Dave

Good Luck and Hang in There

Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

VCruz's picture

Hi everyone:

I live in Long Island. Thankfully, my family and I did not suffer from and outages or damage. The devastation in many areas close to our home is unreal. No one thought it would be this way. Many friends and families are suffering from the aftermath. Now something as simple as getting gas to be able to drive out to volunteer in relief efforts is near to impossible! I send my prayers to the people who lost their homes, still have no power, and even worse, lost their loved ones. I will be donating items until the gas situation improves and then I will help with relief efforts.

Thank you all for your kind words! Also, thank you Dean for your kind donation. It says a lot about you. =)

God bless!

Vanessa

Our prayers are with you!

We are praying for the victims of this latest storm and are hopeful circumstances will be resolved soon!
