Addition to Dean's List

The only person you can control is yourself.

I just can't get enough....

I just can't get enough Dean......

Honestly, the weekly wisdoms, the inspiration, and Dean Graziosi .com has been my foundation for REI ..... Things happen as we progress and fine tuning is necessary and that is what's happening with DG.com

My added philosophies are:

1). Under promise and over deliver. Be it with your family, friends,or your power team and by extension investors we come across (world philosophy I apply when engaging society)

2) what I say.....is how I feel..... How I feel is what I think ( self directed philosophy when encouraging, aim, and executing diligence for self)

Meaning what I think is the words I allow to influence me, because as another
DGers mentioned words become habits, habits reflect your true character.

Just an added tidbit

Just an added tidbit

One more philosophy:

1) knowledge is power as some would say, but it is applied knowledge where true power can happen.

What I would add is Maya Angelou's qoute "If you don't like something change it, if you cant change it then change your attitude about it"

Another philosophy

Hi Dean,
Your philosophies are great! What is even greater is that you are actively passing them on to your kids!!! Awesome!!!

My addition:

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats a person who can do nothing for him.

philiosphies

have to say you have a great list already. One thing that has held true in my life and in my children's lives is that belief in a higher power. It is universal that belief in something bigger than you gives you the power to not worry, the power to give it to "God", and such inner peace that self reliant folks just dont seem to have. So whether you call yours God, yahweh, whatever,, give up the need to control everything, and have faith that things will work out. You will give you children the gift of less stress for their entire life!

As always, great video Dean!

Hi Dean,

I am a 31 year old mother to a 2 year old daughter. I am going through rough times right now - possible bankruptcy, ongoing divorce and custody battle. It's hard to make ends meet especially since I have no immediate family to talk to. My friends suddenly banished when I told them my husband took all of our money and left me and my daughter with only $4.77 in our bank account. To keep my self sane, I depend on positive thoughts and daily affirmations to help me get through my dark days. I also read to myself my "Letter to my Discouraged Self" that I wrote back in October when I attended one of Stephen Edwards's 3 day seminar in Minnesota. Like you, I post these daily philosophies all around my house. An example I have is right in my kitchen where I can see if when I wash thing in the sink. It says "Dear God, Today I woke up. I am healthy. Thank you."

My daughter is still young to understand most of your philosophies but I will definitely teach her all these lessons and more. I went through every post I have around the house and wrote down 5 things that you might add to your list. I know you only need one! Laughing out loud

I would definitely add the following things that would be helpful to anyone, young or old:

1. It's a beautiful day, and I CAN see it. - This allows me to be grateful for just being alive.
2. It’s either we get angry about the things we don’t have or be happy and grateful about the things we already have. - Again, the attitude of gratitude. It where the true meaning of happiness lies.
3. I am the change I want. - I find this very powerful. I realize that the difference between a good day and a bad day is the attitude. And we are always one decision away to change our life for the worse or for the better.
4. When the day is over, let it go. Let it go so you can grow. - This is something I have on my bedside table so when I take my watch off before I sleep, I would see it. It is up to us to focus on what’s tearing us apart, or what’s holding us together. What is coming is always better than what is gone. We need to have hope.
Lastly is number 5. Focus our minds on what we want to happen rather than on what we fear. Steve Jobs once said "Don't let the noise of others' opinion drown out your inner voice. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition."

Thanks,
Grace

Dear Dean,

Your Philosophy for you children is going to give them a strong foundation for their success and achievement in life.
I want you remember something: It is natural tendency for every parent to give their children the best they have as a good teacher do with their students, but there are a gulf between children and parents: Consciousness. The parents talk in one level the consciousness and the children receive the information from their own level of consciousness. Therefore, you have to reinforce this beautiful teaching with, love, tolerance and compassion to them.

Philosophies I really have but one... It covers so much

My children were taught at a very young age and for the rest of their lives it is this....Do things for others If only because it is the right thing to do, and no other reward is offered... The feeling will empower you to do more for others than you ever thought possible...

Hi Dean: Here is a nugget of wisdom I just added to my list. Easy to remember. It came from the Benham brothers. Be a fountain not a drain. Thank you for your list. Your kids take in more then you know. They are always watching and absorbing, even your emotional status. Your love for them is number one, it provides their safety net and launching pad. Love to all DGers

Thank you Dean for reading your philosophies! Many of those are my own, but you elaborated more in detail on some Smiling

One little issue I noticed on the site; after I listened to your "weekly wisdom #289", I wanted to listen to a portion of it again and was unable to play the video again. Maybe a site issue?

One more philosophy to add possibly, "Treat others better than yourself", or as it is written scripturally, "Love your neighbor as yourself".

Thank you for the opportunity to be on this site, and also that it's FREE.

Journey of Life Wisdom

Enjoyed the video.

One wisdom I live by is:

"Avoid reacting to situations, instead respond to them".

Thanks for the reminders

Hi Dean...

Great list with a treasure trove of great additions!
A couple of mine are:

If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

My addition

tddonna's picture

Whenever you feel depressed or discouraged, look around for someone else to help. Typically when you take your eyes off of yourself and focus on helping someone else, your problems become a lot smaller.

Suggestion for another philosophy

Ask yourself why am I doing this or why should I do this throughout the day.

Philosophy Quote

"If you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk". "If you can't practice what you preach, then don't preach".

It's ok to change your mind

One of the most important things I wanted my children to learn from me that no matter how old I was, that I could take their input and understanding of any situation and choose to change my mind about how I felt, punishments, life on any level. I wanted them to grow to learn that because of things we learn our perspectives can change. Life isn't fixed in stone. Many times as a single parent I would make a call on punishment/consequences for something they did, then after taking everything into consideration, revise it. I hope that I taught them it's part of being human.

You have some good things on the list for your children. Always remember they grow up fast and todays issues seem small compared to tomorrows. Thanks for all you wisdom you share with others. It is all about lessons.

The power of concentration

If you don't design your own life plan,
Chances are you fall into some one else plan.
And guess what they have plan for you ?
NO MUCH !

A Different Perspective To Living Well

In 'Life' There Are No Ordinary Moments - because the only thing that's real is GOD... everything else is made up, and we are HIS by design.

Awesome list! Here is my addition to it

Thank you Dean for sharing this awesome list!

My addition

Treat others the way as you expect others to treat you.

Philosophy

"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what thy ate capable of becoming. "

childrens list comment

Hi Dean, like your list of items to your kids. You can also add this if you like; BE THE REASON SOMEONE SMILES TODAY.

dean's list

Dean like what your list had to say. You may want to add this if you wish. BE THE REASON SOMEONE SMILES TODAY.

Philosophies

Dean, what an awesome Weekly Wisdom. You are such an inspiration to all of us.

So many great suggested additions to your list are posted here. I would say live by the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Also, remember that the past is the past - you cannot change it. Do not dwell on it, only focus on the present and future because what you think about, you bring about.

Thank you for all that you do!
