Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #104 - What's Your Story?

Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog

This week Dean reveals how to have the confidence of Kings and Queens.

You'll learn why it is important to tell people the real reason you're in real estate.

Why not to make excuses when people doubt you, and how to change your future by changing what you tell others.

Watch and see why what you say to others, is what you ultimately believe about yourself. Enjoy.

PS- This marks the end of the second full year of the weekly video blogs. Thank you all for watching and making this site and the blogs such a success!

You said a mouth full.

I have a hard time talking to any one about it in the first place, because I have absolutely no confidence. I want it soooooo bad, and yet I can't even get started because I'm so afraid. Really, you've never seem any one like me before. I filled out your form to get more information about your success academy, and when your people called me about it, I froze with fear, and couldn't even answer the phone. They called me several times, I knew it was them because I have caller ID. I just stood there, and waited for the phone to stop ringing, I was just too scared. I was afraid I would sound ignorant to them, I was afraid I wouldn't know what to say, I was just afraid. I can't bring myself to talk to any one about a deal either, for same reason. I have no education, I have not confidence, and yet I still want it. I don't know how I'm ever going to do it, but yet something in side of me just keeps saying, that this is it, it's this, or nothing. I have to find a way to get over myself, get myself out of the way, stop tripping over myself, but darned if I know how.
Oh, I guess as per your blog, I can start with positive self talk. OK, I'll start there. Thank's Dean.

Blue Skies,
Sandy Kline

you are so right Dean

I don't discuss my real estate investing with my sisters, who are my nay-sayers, but I have always talked to my mum about it. I've always told her this is what I'm supposed to be doing even though I hadn't done any deals yet. Her response all along was, "I'm worried about you." Well, when I told her that I bought my first house and the rehab would be done in 4 weeks, she said, "I'm so proud of your courage, tenacity and confidence." So your message about how we talk about real estate investing is so important. Thank you so much Dean.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, this builds on last week's video, here is my "elevator pitch"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am a real estate investor and I buy, improve and then sell real estate in the Providence, RI area. Since banks are not lending like they have in the past, I borrow money from ordinary private individuals like yourself to purchase the property. Who do you know that would like to earn a higher return on their money all secured by real estate?
Yet another great video
Working on my first deal, running into those roadblocks, and with each one I learn something valuable. I really believe in this and I know that I am and will succeed.
My reply, "great! meeting lots of amazing people and have a shot at putting several deals together in the near future. As a matter of fact I thought you were one of those people calling.
Dean,
Great blog. I agree that a positive mental attitude and belief will get me to where I want to go.
Like everyone else, I have a story to tell that unique to me but may help to inspire others.
Happy T-day and wishing the DG family a safe and happy holiday.
Awesome blog DG!!!
I am still working on my path to my first deal!
I found a seller who wants to sell her property for 225,000 dollars.. she owes 190,000 in taxes and she said she does not want to settle for anything less than 220,000 dollars but I still dont know if i should attempt, she is not in any distress, just that she is motivated to sell her property :]
And I keep getting pressured by the tax club to pay them 6,000 dollars for book keeping and such but i dont have 6,000 dollars and i dont think that i need that right now at this point in DG'S academy.
Also I am still unsure on how to advertise my business. I have a couple of signs completed but I dont feel that they are going to bring me buyers and sellers.
Any HELP DG FAMILY?
Believe It Or Not
Believe it or not, I never thought of that.
Simple, basic, true. Something we all should do.
Ricki
Thanks Dean for Your Encouragement
At this moment there is no partner, husband, however when I tell other family members they think this real estate investment is just another one of my ooh this business may work. Thanks for speaking to where my heart is. I'm in real estate to take advantage of this down market, I am learning good techniques from you and the DG family, I'm ready to take my life to the next level. I will repeat this over and over again the reason I'm in real estate.
I appreciate you,
Dean,
As always thanks. When I first became active with this site(took me a year to figure out it was here), I started at blog number one and viewed every single one! I look forward to them. I am a little frustrated, sometimes I want to make a deal so bad that it is all I can think about, I become impatient. It's like having all the pieces to the puzzle but not being able to put them all together! I need a buyer, I need lenders. Then I snap out of it and realize that if I lose sight of my goals I've failed. Persistence is important. Many of the techniques discussed on this site I have DONE and nothing has come together...YET. Your positive comments make it worth while. I can't wait for additional positive blogs. There is opposition in all things. We can not know the joy with out knowing the sorrow, so carry on. Keep putting one foot in front of the other!
Peggy
Thank you Dean
That was great information. I had worked in the real estate industry before for many years, but now that I am making the push to be involved in real estate investing I find myself doing just as you stated...explaining instead of telling people why I'm in this business. It is true that you become what you say and think about, whether it is positive or negative.
I've read posts on this site of many people with spouses, relatives, friends, or associates that put them down, tell them their crazy, or this is a bad time for real estate. I don't have that issue. Most around me are confident that I can have success in this real estate investing business. Up until recently, I have been the one holding myself back. I'll do as you suggested Dean. Thanks again.
I ordered "Your Town, Your Real Estate" because I saw one of the most sincere caring persons I have seen on TV in a long time. You said, "Over here you have a buyer, and over there you have a seller, and all you do is put the two together, it's that simple". I knew right then I could do it. Dean, you presented this in such a way I am convinced that you really mean it. One is never too old to learn, and I'm ready. I'm tired of being poor and financially helpless. This is straight from God. Thank you, and God bless you for what you are doing.
"So It's Been Said - So It Shall Be Done"
BerryGood's picture
Hi Dean,
Thanks for always being a positive force and motiviating everyone. You are one of the reasons we are using real estate to upgrade and transition our life, you are an honest person that truly feels and cares for others. This is one of the reasons why you are so successful. I do believe in the power of words and how one thinks. I agree so much with you and often recite the powerful words of, "So It's Been Said, So It Shall Be Done." Thanks for all you do. Looking forward to meeting you soon and chatting about all the money you've helped us make. Smiles
From the heart,
Sarah of BerryGood
Well Said
You know, when you have a peace of real estate worth lets say 20,000,000. but there is nothing you can do with it for the next 3 years, there is no income, and for some reason you cant sell it now, so it brings you nothing for a while, does that mean you are not worth 20,000,000? of course not! its only that you don't have the cash immediately, but you still feel like a person worth 20MM.
The same thing, if you know that by the end of the day you will get to where you want to get. then you should feel like that person, because this is truly who you are, its only a Mather of time that's keeping you from cashing it out right now...
Keep up the great work, Joe
Ask, Believe, Receive, and Thank
kita57's picture
Dean,
I love the way that you take the lessons of life and make them understandable. Just like your friend Joel (I watch him on Sunday nights). The lord said, ask and you shall receive. But, the secret is believing and then being grateful. In order to attract more of the things you need or want is to be grateful for what you have and believe the other things will arrive soon. Feel it! as Rhonda says which to me is like Fake it. Thanks again for the inspiration.
During this season, I am so thankful for many things in my life. I want you to know that Dean, his books, and this site are right up there. Have the most wonderful holiday!
Marti
One of your best!
Dean,
It really is. Keep them coming!
Thats Motivation
randoskie's picture
You really are a great motivator, I have used body language many years to promote my self, Its funny how an erect posture and an air of confidence can work in your favor. Also it can intimidate people, I had an owner of a company look really scared as I walked into the interview room, I didnt get the job.
Just in time!!!
Blog #104
AndyS's picture
Hi Dean:
Thank you for your weekly inspiration and explanation. It has been a struggle for me to get past and overcome all the things that these past 4 blogs have been teaching us. But despite it all, I am "Still looking up."
On this day of Thanks, I am thankful that the closing on my Mom's house was only delayed 2 weeks and not canceled,I found a worthwhile charity to donate the remains of Mom's belongings to and I got to keep family treasures from yesteryear that I thought I was going to have to sacrifice. Things really are looking up Smiling Now I just need that first sale that makes ME some money.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and everybody here at DG.com
