Avoid or at least delay foreclosure. Don't do nothing. Here are some tips I would try to aviod foreclosure.

Make some extra cash and rent a room out. Talk to your lender; Maybe they will accept interest only on the loan for a time. Shop around for cheaper Homeowners insurance. Rent your home out for more than your monthly mortgage payment and move in with a family member or other until you get back on your feet financially. Offer your home under a lease option to buy to generate up front cash to get out of a hole. Ask @ Short sale; re-appraise your home to generate equity and refinance your loan; convert your retirement savings into self directed IRA to liquidate cash.
