Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #98 - The 2nd Part of the Challenge from Last Week

Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog

So, did you take Dean up on his "news" diet
challenge from last week? If so, how'd you do?

Was it tough for you or no big deal?

We want to hear from you, so post your experiences
below. But before you do, watch this week's video
to see what causes Dean to get all "goosebumpy"
after he reveals part two of the challenge.

I think you're gonna like it.

No News!

I went the week without any news on the tv, not even sports which I really enjoy doing. I am glad that I did not see this weekly blog earlier, I watched the news and realized that I am not really missing anything other than how gloomy some things can be. I am not going to watch the news the rest of the week and focus on the positive side of life!

I am going to try my best to stay away from negative people, which is going to be tough at my job. Most people are negative and try to talk to everybody and anybody of these negatives but in the long run it should be a better for us all!

I am not a much for blogging, but for some reason I really enjoy this site, thanks to Dean's powerful positive thinking and to all of the DG Family for staying positive and the willingness to help out one another.

May God bless us all and that we make the right choices in life so that we may also spread the positive thinking to everybody else!

Once again, thank you Dean and the DG Family!

News challenge

Good challenge! Iam a sport nut.Got to watch the play offs but still working hard I have a Real Estate Agent and I had a meeting with a Real Estate Attorney today. I was very interesting, and my 1st deal is just around the corner.

hello

hello dean thank you your friend and student jose m gomez

Challenge from last week!

Greetings Dean,

I would like to say the diet was very challenging for me to not watch tv or just listen to others for one week. But I did it! And it felt good. As the days went by, it got easier and my spirit was lighter. Surely, I can do this daily and feel even better.

Thanks for the challenge of a new diet Dean.

Patrice!

No News is Good News!!!

I've eliminated watching the news from my life for about 3 years now. I focus on work, my loved ones and my busniess. Not only is that garbage polution for our minds, it distracts us from our own problems and our own business. We need to focus on our own nes, our own business.

I've already stopped hanging out with negative people in my life so much. I rarely see them even tho they are good friends and even family. Last week I focused on my work, and instead about complaining about money problems, I'm out there fixing the problem.

A partner who is also a friend of mine finally got a tenant into a house, I'm being paid to manage and maintain the property, and now the tenant's sister needs a place and is calling me nonstop! I am a money magnet I tell myself and this is just the beginning! Thanks for all the positive words and thoughts Dean, they always help me take that extra step forward, no matter how scary it is.

Great Challenge

That was easy for me because I have not watched Tv in long time, almost a year now. I do pop in a dvd and enjoy a few movies. I am out of touch when conversations come up out work and some things I don't have a clue what they are talking about. Even in my car I listen to relaxing music and not the radio.
I have already started not listening to negative talk, I excuse myself and walk away. So thanks Dean for giving me something to think about, like how blessed I am, to see another day!

Wow, what a challenge

I didn't think the "no news" diet
would be so hard. I like to listen to the weather, but it always seems to come with
the news Smiling
I tried it last week and intend to do better this week. The news is all around us. Even on a radio station that is mostly music, there is some news, and it seems like every conversation seems to end up about the news or some news story
sooner or later. I just need to remember that there is an on/off switch on the radio and tv.
Sometimes I think there should be a better switch on some people Smiling
Thanks Dean. Turning the news off and thinking of positive things really gives a person a better perspective,
I'm up for the challenge
Kathy

Check out my life

Dean, great to find i'm not the only one to never watch the news. ive been on this news diet for, well.... my whole life, and i feel great. my bro is a negative ned kind of guy. everyday he's so worried so concerned about the news and where the world is headed, if you where to see our pictures next to each other side by side you would physically see the difference in us. I'm happy he's not. so everyone ditch the news, unless its about catchin big fish. see ya all happy days to come you'll see!

Thanks for the challenge

I took your challenge and I would say I was half way successful. My husband is a tv and news freak. Our tv is always on even when he sleeps. It is music to his ears. I tried somehow not to pay attention to the news and ignored it as much as I can. At work was a breeze cause I can change the subject right away.

The challenge continues...

I've been doing this for a few months

Johnnym66's picture

I gave up all my TV watching a few months ago. The only thing on TV that I watch for is the weather. It's about the only thing that isn't always depressing. I could never understand how people could spend so much time at a computer, but now I'm addicted. Between ths Success Academy and the SFL system I'm still trying to learn and put into use, I'm here most of the time I'm home. The best thing about all this is that I'm learning more about how to input things into the SFL system and keep track of it, and a lot more of the real estate stuff is making sense and staying with me. I'm moving slowly at this point, but I'm still moving forward.

Your "Tech Guy" is wrong!!!

Hi Dean,
This weeks blog was very good, we have been following your no news diet for a while now and see no reason to go back to the news! The no negative people seems a little harder, we both thought of someone specific when we heard that. I don't think he means to be negative, he's just been that way for so long it's all he knows. Oh yeah and as for the e-mail that we haven't watched your video... that's because we're on here so early that your e-mail hasn't had a chance to get to us!LOL It's great stuff Dean thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Dean

And yet another positive challenge you've given us all. My wife and I went on a news diet several years ago...and you know, we don't miss it one bit. Most of the news is murders, robberies, all doom and gloom. It's too bad we live in a world that wants to sensationalize on these types of news... but to us, it's just "old hat." We try to put positive things in our mind. Like talking to each other as a married couple.
Keep up the positive blogs and remember, the SKY is the LIMIT.

dear dean, i am one of those who do not watch news progams because their is never any good news i may not have alot of money but i am arich man because ihave a great wife son daughter granddaughter great family and friends period.

Positivity Blog

Dean,

I only watch news for traffic reports so I can get to work in a timely fashion. I hope that doesn't count. I follow your "diet" on news and negativity as a way of life. Our time on the planet is way too short to waste it worrying over things you can not change. Good post!

John

Negative News

Hey Dean,

I believe in you and your strategies in real estate.I try everyday to cut back on my negative diet.I get enough negative thoughs that go threw my head everyday. And negative people who never take chances,I try my best to stay clear of them.I am fighting my on battles in my head. The bible talks about frog like spirits that jump off one person to another(Revelation).Dean, your real estate spirit has jump on me.I am focused MAN!

news challenge

Well dg family not watching the news was a breeze for me 'cause I don't pay attention to it anyway. I learned along time ago they only report negetivity. On the other hand my family is high on negetivity! It's hard to stay away from them, I have in the past and continue to block them out of my mind. Meaning I don't listen to every thing they say. Sometimes it gets me in trouble 'cause they ask a question and I have no idea what it is 'cause I had tuned them out and was thinking of something else.
Anyway my daughters know I am checking this real estate thing out and they saw on the news about the real estate scam that is going on and told me about it. I immediatly told them that it had nothing to do with what I was getting into. I also told them if they can't support me then do not bring the subject up again! Sorry for going on and on but, I'm just saying. Anyway my hardist challenge is getting all info and getting started on first deal.

POSITIVE

Jay Sthilaire's picture

i love this challenge because thats what it is !! A CHALLENGE .its not easy and no one ever said it was.If you ever stop at a local diner to treat your employees for a coffee or a quick lunch before you get back to rehabbing ,you will find a big challenge not to tell the locals that they need to talk about positive things instead of the ho hum problems, neg news, did u hear about so in so ,i could go on and on but you get the picture !!.i literally had to ignore some people just to keep up with this challenge.for every neg i had to respond with a positive .this challenge is awesome and now i look forward to getting better at being the most poitive person i can be !!
thanks dean

That's a great outlook on

That's a great outlook on life. We need more of that

News Diet.

No problem!I never watch the news or read the paper anyway.

I quit listening to the news

I quit listening to the news years ago. People think I am crazy and out of touch . . . . if they would broadcast good things that happen, then I may watch or read the paper. I think this is a wonderful challenge.

At my house when someone is in a funk or bad mood, I kindly suggest that they need to pivot! An easy way to pivot is to do a rampage of appreciation! Which is to list 10 things/people/events you are appreciative of. It could be as simple as having a hot shower this morning.

Thank you Dean for the reminders

Have a great day.

No Dean
I'm not ignoring you,I though the blog was on Sundays that's when I see them Sunday night. So if you really do read them all as you say you do you would have seen that I was the third posting Sunday night, plus I posted again on Monday night, after reading about a thousand other post and replies on all the different groups in the website. So I'll be watching to see if you read this one or not.

Thanks for everything anyway.

Part 2 Challenge

Well I must admit, I failed the first part. I always watch the morning news to find out what the weather and traffic is for that day and you are absolutely right, nothing but bad news.

Challenge 2 is even tougher for me as I ride in a carpool with 4 people who do nothing but talk about politics the whole way there and back. I will try not to get in on their conversations, which will really be tough for me.

Jean
Think positive!!!

Avoiding negative environment

Dean, thank you for the encouraging word. I must say that since I ordered your books and have gotten excited about how these real estate techniques were the answer to my prayers, all hell has broken loose in my family realm. My husband tells me he is going to take on bankruptcy and the feedback encouragment when I talk about how this can get us out of debt is zero to none. I am so thankful for you're encouraging words and the genuine caring spirit that comes through every time. I will and can do this. Like most of the people that first started out, I too, don't have any knowledge about the real estate world. But, I am soon to find out and benefit from it. I also what to say how thankful I am for my son, Jordan, who is serving our country in the USAF,in Southeast Asia. And my beautiful daughter, Victoria, who will soon turn 18.

NO NEWS, NEGATIVE PEOPLE OUT!!

John Trivett's picture

Dean, you sound like my attitude and motivation teacher from Golf Academy 3 years ago and I appreciate all you do to help us along. I bet you would be a great golfer with the mentality that you have.
I have yet to close my first deal but I do have Walgreens looking at a corner lot I bought when I was 23 in a college town which is super exciting. I have a few negative people in my life but its very easy for me to block them from distracting myself. I look forward to these challenges and keep them coming! Have a great week everyone!

Positive minds + Positive thinking!= Positive

2nd week

I would say my first week went pretty good. I'll try to do the positive thinking for a week, or maybe just continue it longer

thanks

No News Challenge

The no news challenge was really no big deal. The challenge for me to get an actual deal though is still in progress.

Thank you

Dean,

Thank you for the part about the remembering things we love or like in our head when negative thoughts come to us.

Giving up news and walking away from negativity is easy for me, however, immediately thinking about positive things when my head goes to the negative is a really hard one.

I take on the challenge though and looking forward to it.

Thanks,
Sharon
