Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #192 - Worst Case Scenarios

This week Dean reveals how he fell into old habits and let negative thoughts take control of him for three long days. Then he remembered a techniques he used to use that always resolved the problem. This is so simple you won't believe it, but if peace of mind and solving problems is important to you...you won't want to miss this. The technique he shares will shut destructive thoughts down in a snap...Enjoy!

boy do I understand that feeling

I have never thought to get up Dean, I lay there in my bed tossing and turning literally and mentally my thoughts. The worst thing is when I start to hear the birds chirp then I feel oh no just a few hours left before I have to get up. I will put this into action next time I have one of those moments have a nice week Dean and hopefully a catch up on lost sleep.

Kindest regards,
Denise

Dean,
I know we can all fall back a little in our thought process. it is a continuous job to keep the positive thoughts. Some days easier than others . I am sure everything will turn out good for you because you give so much to others. Thanks for all you do!

Worst/Best

bonitaj777's picture

Thanks again for your Wisdom Dean! I am in Psychology and did not know about the little trick of writing down Worst/Best. How great! I did know about learning from the Worst Case Scenarios, it is how we plunge forward and grow. Only then can we become who we are meant to be. Thanks Again!!!

Financing

menendezc's picture

I hate to as this again, but can anyone recommend financing? I plan on doing assignments. I imagine the person I'm assigning to provides this.

That is a good technique!

Usually doesn't happen that I get wrapped into a thought loop like that, but next time I do I'm using this.

Oh, if you don't already, take some Melatonin about 30 min before going to bed(start w/ about 3mg to test your sensitivity). Not just when you haven't slept either! It's one of the best things you can do for your brain and it's dirt cheap.

Wow Thanks Dean

This is exactly what I needed today. I've just had a bunch of bad things happen and had been slipping into a very dark place today. Using your advice I now realize that these problems are nothing more than new challenges to overcome and learn from.

Thanks again,
Don

Great!,

alfdalsr's picture

Dean, this is one of the most simple and effective things you talked about. It is so great that in my mind eye I am seeing the result already. Why?, because I will write-down the answer to correct the bad thought but if the bad thought comes through, although bad, I can look for the lessons from it, to avoid it in the future. This is powerful! Thank you.

So True

Portia McIver's picture

Hi Dean thanks for the encouragement. That sounds exactly like me lol.
I sometimes will think myself out of things because I am so sure that it won't come out right.
My Pastor calls it stepping out on faith. It is un-nerving but its time for me to put on my Captain Real Estate Investor cape again. Failed before but it didn't kill me.
Thanks Dean.

words of wisdom 192

Thank you so much Dean! I was inthe same situation and I have not been sleeping well. I was so excited to listen to the words of wisdom thismorning because not only does it help me to get past my fear, but it gives me positive motivation to get out and continue to move forward with my desire to do real estate. I have a plan and it is coming together slowly. I guess because of all the negative things that have happened within these last two years I just sunk into a defeated mindset, but the weekly wisdoms are helping to overcome all those negative emotions and moving me back to the person I desire and need to be for myself and my family. Thank you so much for being who you are.

STAYING POSITVE

I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS TO ALL THE DG FAMILY AND DEAN FOR SUCH A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT to have while I embark upon my new real estate adventure. It is just great to have individuals who have a uplifting manner about this so strong that their energy can lift another. Good luck to all in the DG family and to you as well Dean. Thank so much for all that you do and yes, the mind and body do need the rest, peace, and love of self so keep healthy.

honesty

I so agree with this comment. I feel that the first step to a healthy and peaceful existance is to realize that we do worry (which I have heard is a sin to God) and then not worry about things which we have no immediate control. In time as we practice the technique in which Dean just shared in the weekly wisdom 192 we will have more focus. We can examine our inner thoughts and fears and conquer them one at a time by breaking them down into smaller pieces. This is a great environment. Be blessed and have a awesome week.

Yes

I must confess I had some reservations because I had seen other programs, but Dean surpasses all of them because there is a feeling of sincerity within the weekly wisdoms as he shares his inner most thoughts to help individual succeed. Totally awesome that the world still as people so energized to help others as we go through the trying times of the economy. I will post my first deal as well. I am still learning all the techniques that I may apply them correctly but I know I am on the right track with my DG family. Everyone be blessed and never give up no matter what the circumstances. You can do this just as I am. one day at a time. (and if your like me one second at a time lol) Have a wonderful week.

That has happened to me lots of times...sometimes negative stuff and sometimes just excitement from positive stuff (like REI). This is truly a good weekly wisdom that you shared, as usual!! I will definitely try that the next time I can't sleep!

going for it

tv8todd's picture

Dean I have had your books and have been watching for years and I have been letting the fear of what others will say crush me. I have made bandit signs and put out 20 about a year ago and got no response. I am my own worst ememy. How do I kick myself to do it. My wife wants a divorce and all I do is work hard at my own business that is slowly shrinking year after year. I know I want more.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Great advice Dean

gabewilson83's picture

That's something that I have never thought about. I've had many sleepless nights due to the decisions of life. I will apply this principal. Thank you.

Simple but Effective

That is a great idea of handling thoughts that are driving you crazy and I am going to try it next time I have something like that.

Just showed this to my wife because she is a worrier and she said she thought it was great also. Thanks for the good advice.

Dang it.........

bamagirl6730's picture

Dang it!!! I hate it when I'm caught too....when the crown is getting polished and my cape is at the cleaners! And find ourselves with a weak spot. LOL

Seriously Dean appreciate your transparency. It's what makes you real. That you are open and relate-able. But you don't know how on target and timely you are with this blog!
As far as the thoughts 'slipping' well, that's why we have to play offensive not just defensive. It's not that we never fall into the GAP, it's that we realize it and get the heck out of dodge FAST!! Smiling Controlling/overcoming the mind/thought process is by far the hardest part. It's easy to be 'up' when things are good and life is peachy. But it's how we handle the adversities, the 'downs' through the challenges in which create the warrior. Unleashes the power within! It's the struggle that prepares us for the success.

It's not that life gets easier.....It's that WE get BETTER!
I say it everyday: I GOT THIS! If all is not well, then it's not over! I am destined for greatness!
It's like fighting a fixed fight, you know you're going to win....you already know the outcome. The rest is simply a timing issue. So Game ON! LIFE~~~No one gets out alive! lol So why not get off the bench and on the field! Get a few stains on the uniform! Let the opposing team know you're there! Smiling

Thanks Dean......you are awesome!
God Bless,
Jen Gray

Sleepless nights!

Hello Dean, and all Deanonites.

I wanted to take some time to address your wwblog 192.
I'm not sure how many hours I have currently stored in my sleep bank, but I can tell you an interest bearing account would propel all of us to a profound level.
All kidding aside for a moment; I find that starting my day with a yellow pad and pen helps me, and all of my students to keep our focus as well as keep everything in it's simplistic form.
The days that I do not use my pad, I find, produce sleepless nights. I sleep on average 3 hours per night when pad is in use. That's due to everything I am creating. Without this simple tool, I probably wouldn't sleep at all.
Not only am I currently in a different country using the techniques you have blessed me with, I am also a health, and business counselor as well as a director of education in an international school. Needless to say, my plate is full.
My passion for teaching others, introducing healthy lifestyle, and curing the world of personal negativity has created a small ripple effect.
I would like to now credit you for keeping me inspired.
There are many moments when I feel like the "lone wolf" in my endeavors. Of course we know how overwhelming that can be.
On occasion I remind myself to log into your site, and I seem to regain my positive outlook after reviewing several of your vlogs.
Thank you Dean for making yourself known, and available.
I have many things I would like to share with you that you may find helpful as well.
My way of thanking you, is to offer you some of my experiences and outcomes as well.
This is all of the time I have for now. Until next time, stay healthy, eat organically when you can, and by all means keep rocking the ripple effect!

Sincerely,
Joe

what a simple solution

Dean, thanks for this last piece of advice. I have often not only awoken in the middle of the night with something on my mind but have become paralyzed at the thought of what "might" happen. I tried this the other night and it worked like a charm. Thanks. I have just sent off 13 letters to different real estate offices looking for the right agent(s) to work with me. Thanks again.

Old Blue Print vs. New Blue Print

Great to relate with you and your honesty about having to practice what you preach. Makes you genuine, authentic and real. When the Old thinking of anxiety, fear, frustration pop up, the new thinking ( knowing your subconscious mind) gives us a solution like the one you shared. I use it and I agree changing our thinking, changes our effect. Great leaders are human too, it the leaders who are honest and practice what they share makes them greater.
It is an honor to know you Dean and be a student of your character.
