Finding a Mentor

Finding a Mentor

I just received Dean's book "Be a Real Estate Millionaire" and I'm about half way through it. In the second part of the book he refers to finding a mentor to help out along the way. My question is where do I go to find one? He mentions coming to this website but none of my searches on here have produced anything to help me find such a mentor. Please help!!!!

I already posted this but.......

Finding a mentor is very easy if you are willing to work for free. If you would like to birddog for a successful investor or do some of the mundane tasks that is needed then volunteer to work for them for free in exchange for information. Trust me,they are not worried about creating competition if they truly know what they are doing and are successful doing it. There are simply too many deals, especially right now. Right now the successful investors need help because they have too many deals going at once, working on rehabs, management issues, contractor issues and on and on. As for missing the window of opportunity by the time you learn the business I would disagree. You already seem like a winner. You are on this site trying to learn and you are one of the top point earners here. Don't give up too soon. This is the best time ever to buy real estate. The window will be open for a while. Now, to locate a top investor in your area all you have to do is start asking some of the top real estate agents who they think is the best investor in the area. As soon as you here the same name a few times let them know you are a beginning investor who would like to volunteer their time to a successful investor, then ask if you could have the investor call you. Or write them an email or a letter. It's possible. Regardless, the investment in getting started with Dean's mentoring team is always a good idea. I did it and it was well worth it.

I need a mentor in Charlotte NC

I have started my research and have been keeping spreadsheets on potential properties I have found and I just need a mentor to motivate and cultivate me into a successful and efficient investor over time. I have more time than money and willing to offer what time I can to assist a seasoned investor. I have made contact with realtors, attorneys, banks, court records and a host of other listing but with no means to really do anything about them, its just information.

I am not looking to get rich quick, "freedom" is my ultimate goal.

Looking for Mentor/helper in RI

This is an entry level position requiring at least a two-year college degree in a related area. A Ph.D. degree is required. Experience in personnel operations is desirable. Applicants must be able to type 50 WPM and have good public relations skills. Spanish language proficiency is not required.
I request that candidates submit a letter of application and a current resume that includes three references.
The position will remain open until a suitable member is found.

ONLY KIDDING!!!!!!!

Just looking for help, advice, what do I do next, from someone in my area. I am very interested in this as a full time job, already acquiring potential properties. I am looking for someone to help me become more knowledgeable with the areas I am not as familiar with. I have the time, unfortunately just not the money, therefore I am starting with finders fees. Any Suggestions??

I am looking for mentor in Irving/Dallas Tx area

If there is anyone out there who is interested i am looking for a mentor and willing to learn the business as well. I work for CSS right now and i set up appointments for real estate agents all day but i am not sure how to use this to my advantage. If anyone has any ideas please help me out.

Searching for a Mentor

I currently am looking for a mentor that is in the San Diego Area or Southern California area. I am a person that is highly motivated and is a fast learner. I would like to learn so that I am able to return the knowledge to someone who is looking for some guidance. I am able to find some properties but need help in arranging the financing for it. I would like to learn how I can use OPM to make a profit. Can you help?

I kind of did this backwards

I am finally almost done with Dean's book. I actually found Dean through the internet when I bought the Automated Foreclosure Finder program. After going through the program I realized he had a book. I picked that up and haven't put it down since. I love the way he writes- it is so easy to read.

Anyway, just want to say thanks Dean I am now a proud REI and know that financial freedom is just years away- not decades.

The Success Academy Mentor Program...a MUST

I JUST WAS INVITED AND SIGNED UP TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who believe and say "I cannot afford this"; you CANNOT AFFORD NOT TO!!!. I tell you why and how you can do it in a moment.

I am a Single Mom with 2 children, one going off to college next year and live on Long Island, NY (very expensive). I am currently losing my job; no more OT since corporate is laying all of us off by December of this year. My rent is $1,500/month plus all utilities (totaling around $2,200 without food, gas , doctors and other misc.)! So you can imagine how I'm struggling living paycheck to paycheck with NO child support. I have horrible credit due to my ex. I don't have any credit cards and only the available cash from working so where the heck would I ever come up with the money for the Mentor program in which I definitely saw the positive benefits.

So like many of you, I initially saw there was no way I could afford this wonderful and very needed program even though I really, really wished I could seek this personal help.

If you definitely want to succeed...this program is an absolute MUST. Now I'm not saying without it you can't succeed, please don't get me wrong. What I'm saying is with it, you can quickly springboard your success forward with the experts help. I saw this and figured out a way!!!

There are options...

Let me tell you what I did.

Many of you who do have jobs have a 401K. 401K's offer "Hardship Loans". You can basically take out what is needed up to 50% of the total 100% vest amount. NO CREDIT IS REQUIRED because it is your money. You can receive up to 60 months to pay back with interest which different than a bank loan is being paid back to you into your 401K.

The loan is better than a Hardship withdrawal since that comes with a 10% tax taken right off the top or you can opt to wait for it to apply to your next tax return & a 20% penalty.

With both you must "Prove" your hardship with backup documentation. for example if you are behind or have outstanding bills or upcoming expenses you can provide proof for.

An IRA works very similar but you need to check the details.

So as you can guess, I took a loan against my 401K to pay for the Mentoring program.

Now really why would I have gone ahead and done something like this? I know I'm going to make this money back over & over again(THANK YOU ALL!!!)

I realize that often in order to success, we have to make a commitment and with that commitment often times comes sacrificing but the way I look at this is this is a very TEMPORARY sacrifice.

So by all means, please look into this for your and your families sake! Your personal coach will give you each and every step that you must take before going onto the next. They will hold your hand for 12 months...that's a full year As long as you follow their lead, remember they are the experts and are investors themselves, you having nothing to lose... and as an added blanket of security, the program is GUARANTEED!!!

Do yourself a favor; take the steps necessary to get yourself on the FAST TRACK TO SUCCESS and contact them (PMI) at 1-800-860-3355.

Good luck to all of you and God Bless.

Just got Dean's Book

I just got Dean's book, and I'm thinking about joining a Real Estate Investement CLub in Orlando. I m excited, ready to hit the ground running, but I want more information on no money down Techniques. I have no credit, work 40 hours a week, bring home a little over $700.00 every two weeks, and I am scraping the bottom of the barrell. I have a family to take care of and I want so badly to be able to help my brother and sister with their families as well. I'm in Orlando FLorida, and I have a realtor already lined up and she is sending me deals on a daily in my email box even before I got this program. Now that I have read it front to back, I'm going to read it again in case there was something I missed. I have highlighted certain points of interest to me, and now I'm trying to figure out the best way toadvertise, market and promote myself without taking food and bill money from the family. We only have one car and it's pretty hard right now, but I have FAITH in God and I beleive that this is real. Is there anyone who can at least tell me about legal forms, contracts, and anything else I need to make an offer on a REO property or FSBO and then does anyone trust Investment Clubs? I'm not afraid to mess up, I am just an extremely analytical person and I like to know in detail the steps to take. Anyone who has good detailed advice and isn't closed minded and wants to share with me, I eagerly await a reply.

Bless You

mentors

I am in the same boat as many on this website. New to the program, not knowing where or how to begin because I keep running into brick walls every time I turn a cornor. I really like the idea of offering to work with a successful real eatate investor for free in exchange for the knowledge and skills it will take to get myself up and running in this most exciting business. If there is anyone out there in the RI area that would be interested in and could use some help runing their business in exchange for their knowledge of the business please respond. Thanking you I am.

Mentors: My Local REI Club Experience

I attended my first REI Club meeting last night. I spoke with several people and let it be known that I am new to REI and explained that I was looking at going into wholesaling to begin with and looking for someone to learn from.

At the end of the meeting I spoke with a CPA and his wife who are investors and they aid that they would be happy to mentor me....for a fee of $7,000 a year, with no guarantee that if I completed x number of deals in that year that I would get any of that $7k back.

I know that when I was first approached to join the Success Academy I turned down the opportunity. After my experience last night, I am going to re-visit this issue with my wife. Even though she isn't fired up about the idea of me spending money to have a coach/mentor, I think that after my experience last night that Dean's Academy sounds like a much better deal. At least if I follow the program and then do what needs to be done that I have the opportunity to get my money back!

LAS VEGAS MENTOR WANTED

Hello Everyone! I am like many of the rest of you because I am also new to REI. However, I have one thing that many people may not... That one thing has helped me in a lot of ways through life, but once in awhile it's also hindered me, but I've NEVER let that stop me. The "THING" that I have that sets me apart from many others is "A LACK OF FEAR". I do not fear failure because I DON'T believe I (or any of you) can fail at something that merely takes Dedication and "Know How".
So, I am looking for a Mentor in the Las Vegas, NV area to help me along at the begining of my REI career. If you've got some experience and would like to share in my REI growth (and of course, we will be helping each other out with future deals), then please contact me either here or at my personal email address listed below.
Thanks,

Robin Laswell

Mentor Wanted, but Using the Book and this Site as One

I've read DG's book, Profit from Real Estate Right Now!. Unfortunately, I don't have money to invest in the mentoring program [not sure how much it costs] but I will study the DG's books, figure it out, and just do it. I love that there's a lot of useful, specific information that guides someone just starting out in real estate investing. Been studying the details to get a better understanding of how things work. Been taking a look at all the paperwork that's provided on this site. Been typing up some email/letters straight from the book. I love the action steps that guide me. I am going to learn the steps I need to take to make money through RE investing and go for it! I pray that I will make more money than I lose.
I live on Maui. LOVE IT! Anyone interested in BUYING/SELLING GREAT deals anywhere in the US? Although I'm all the way in Hawaii nei, I'm not so far away with technology. LOVE IT!

Finding a mentor

Someone who became very successful from DG's group suggested this to me. Since we don't live in the same state, she give me the name and number of one good Investor in my state. I contacted this guy and immediately he give me some of his properties FOR SALE and told me that if I can SELL it first for him, we split the profit. Since this guy is not a big fan of Publishing Photos of his properties for sale on the net, not even publish them on the net, I went to his property, we met there, we talked get to know each other while i'm taking pictures. It's really nice feeling to work with seasoned investors and you'll learn a lot from them. I got whole lots of replies and calls 2 days after I posted it on the net and to some of my buyer's list. But this guy is really a seasoned investor since 1987, without the aid of any technology, thru his buyer's list he was able to put 2 of his propeties UNDER CONTRACT ahead of me and I don't get the cut, LOL, but still, it's one GREAT experience. He told me that if his buyer will fall out, he'l let me know so I can make some follow-up to those who responded in my list. Just yesterday, more that a week later, a CASH BUYER call me and ask if this properties are still available. I have'nt done any deals yet, but I don't stop studying and researching, reading blogs and post from this site. I know we ALL CAN MAKE IT TO THE TOP! As Joe would always quote "Believe and Achieve".
