The Bar Has Officially Been Raised...Deal #100 Complete!!!

The Bar Has Officially Been Raised...Deal #100 Complete!!!

Well today was a monumental day for me. I completed deal number 100. I have been running toward this dream for 4 years. It hasn't been easy. I lived in a 300 square foot apartment a little over 4 years ago. Broke and unhappy with life, just wanting a way out. When I started in real estate I had never even purchased a home to live in. I was taught by my dad to avoid ever buying a home-he said it was a bad investment, he said I would never live to pay it off anyway. I had a lot of mental obstacles to overcome because of the way he programed my mind for poverty. I pushed thru my fears. Overcame many, many obstacles. I remember friends and family telling me along the way that what I was doing wasn't worth it, that it would never pay off, that maybe other people could make real estate work, but I wasn't cut out for it. A very close friend of mine told me I would never be able to make it work.

Well, it was worth it. The price I paid seems pretty small now that I look back. The deal I did today had a absolute net profit of over $47,000. Not too bad. I have done better, but I am not going to complain. I don't talk about most of the deals I do because they are all very simple deals. Once you have done a few flips, or a few assignments, or a few lease options, or even a few rentals it is all pretty much just a repeat of the things you did the first time. You will tweek things along the way, but for the most part its really a simple process.

It was kind of a fun week. I bought a new car which was cool. I added a life insurance policy that set the record for my agent as his biggest policy he had ever done (my annual premium cost more than I used to make per year!) All that stuff is really cool, but you know what I really like? I like doing deals and I like to win. The money just comes with it.

Within the next 30 days I will close another 10 deals that are pended right now including 3 next week. I have new goals now. I am running for my 1000th deal within the next 6 years. Its all possible, very possible.

My question for you is this. What is holding you back from your first deal, or 10th deal, or 50th deal? Really what is it? I suggest you write down what is holding you back on a piece of paper. Then write down how you are going to destroy whatever it is that is holding you back on that same piece of paper. Then post it up on your bedroom wall above the light switch like I used to do. That way it is the first thing you see every single morning. Go out there and get this thing done. Don't let anything hold you back. Have the mindset that you won't be denied. The world can't stop someone who won't be denied! Get it done!!!

Wonderful & Awesome!!

Matt,
Thank-you so much for letting us all share in your success.
I do agree that the more deals that you close, it does become second nature to the success that is around the corner.
When you set goals and dreams to achieve and you accomplish them then the obstacles do not seem so big. The rewards are awesome!
Congrats to you and on to the next 100!!

matt

i'm happy to hear about your successes and you deserve it because you earned it.what i really like however is the tidbits of motivation you and others share.i think i'm like most when i say it's hard to fathom 100 deals when we're starting out.i don't think we can fully appreciate what you've accomplished until we've done it ourselves.i know for me the first is the hardest, but i know people like you and rina laura johnson joe and stacey carol stinson and let's not forget greg murphy and so many others ahead of us are such an inspiration that it's important for you to post your little successes as well as your big ones.looking forward to meeting everyone at the top,rob

Matt Larson Is My Hero!!

Matt, you are certainly an inspiration to us all! I am following you plan, after a few stumbles with Realtors, I am now "trying out" 3 Realtors, what's better than that??? Having 3 people competing for your business! I love it.

Only one thing, I wish you would pick me to work with! But, if you don't I will follow you to the Century Club anyhow!

WOW congratulations, you are such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing all your successes and encouragements. I show your story as well as some others to my Husband and he is coming around slow and steady. I closed my first deal, working on it now so we can be moved in our home, with tenants in the upstairs apartment by June. Still looking at the next deal, reading daily, journaling, coming to the website for inspiration and tips.

Thank you for all you do for me. Tammy

Wow Congratulations

Wow Congratulations on hitting a major landmark for yourself. You jumped into this with both feet on the ground sprinting as if you were in a race. You kept you eyes on the prize and never looked back, What a great accomplishment. I am inspired by you and look forward to the day that I can say I have 100+ deals. Thank you for sharing.

What Inspiration

Matt,

Congratulations! I apologize for the late response to your post, as I am new to the family. I have my first phone conversation with Drew Moren(my coach)tomorrow. I am very excited about the possibilities, and reading and seeing the success stories only motivates me more. I did a goal sheet for one of the people that I talked with last week about joining the Success Academy, his name was Tim Miller. He was motivating, and excited about helping me succeed, and in that goal sheet for my 3 year goal, I put down completing my 120th deal!! I know that is a big order to fill, but failure is not an option at this time.
Keep up the good work, and hope to see you in the Millenium Club Smiling

Keep the challenges coming, as they help motivate everyone to become better at what they do!

Thanks again for the motivation!

Congratulations Matt!

You have accomplished and done so much in 4 years
Its Awesome, congratulations on your first 100.
You're now in your brand New car on the straightway,

You Motivate and inspire us all, and you Care and
want us to follow in your foot steps THANK YOU.
I'm still driving in the school zone yet, but I'm

Late Post

Congratulations Matt. I missed this post but wanted to tell you what a motivator you are to us all. I battle with the mind games but it's definitely getting better and watching/hearing your story and all the others keeps me going. So thank you to you for who you are and that you're willing to share/motivate/encourage/teach. I really loved Chad's story as well and how you helped him. Take care and to many more deals!
Cathy

Hey Matt,
The bar has been set and I am on my way to buy my ladder because I am climbing up to the top with you and all of the successful DG members here.
Hoping you reach 200 in half the time you did to reach 100. Congrats again and I hope to chat with you one day.

congrats

That is really awsome that you have done that many deals! I have done one so far and working on a few more. I had an opportunity about 9 or 10 years ago to get into real estate investing, an investor was actually willing to pay off all my bad credit and the down on a property he was selling so we could get into investing like he was and I was afraid I wouldn't beable to rent it out so I turned the deal down (the house was really nasty looking and smelling). I forgot how nice his properties were once they were done. You can't possibly know how many times I have kicked myself for that. So when I saw Dean's commercial I knew now was the time to not let this oppertunity go by. My first deal is owner financed, and I have two more I'm working on, and I have put in a couple of offers for properties that I will assign. Good luck on many more deals to come in the future. I always look foward to the advice you offer. It's kind of funny because my husband is where you were before you got started, working 12 hour days for 12/hr, and can't wait to get out of that. We used to live in california, where it's easy to have a 20/hr job, but I talked him into moving here to Indiana because some of my family had moved here and it looked like a nice place to live. Who knew the job market would be so terrible here? You're story was especially inspirational to me because it's close to what we have to deal with, but unlike you we did have a home in california. Thanks for all the help and guidance you have given

Congrats

Congrats Matt,
AWESOME Transfermation...my sure you miss that 300 sq. ft. apt. (lol) Gary/Jill

Congrats Matt!!

I got a chance to speak with you at the end of this year's Edge event very briefly before your attention was once again in overwhelming demand. I like how you made yourself a successful system that you can easily duplicate. I will be joinging the Success Academy tomorrow and am excited to set my REI goals tonight, No Limits is the only way to live. I was woondering if there is any way to get my hands on your reps system. I am looking to get going really fast out of the gate and to be able to follow a path like yours would be a great honor. I have tried searching the internet for your system, but I am guessing that it is not yet available. Any possibility that you would like to take on a student for a success story?? I know it is quite a request, but if you dont ask the answer is always no.

Wishing you continued success at ever increasing levels of effectiveness and efficiency!!
