Becoming SuperHuman

Becoming SuperHuman

Your quest to become financially free from real estate hinges on your ability to learn, adapt, and change. You have to become. Your current thinking has produced the results that you have in your life right now. If you are broke then that is because you have broke thinking. Not because of the economy, not because you have had bad luck, and not because someone else caused it. It is because of you. When I was broke it was my fault.

Soooo, you wanna make some money? Become Superhuman. Change your thinking. It is a must.

Here are the exercises to start doing to become Superhuman:

Stop watching the daily news. It is like pouring sand in the gas tank of your car.

Read books every day. Non-Fiction self help books are the best. Train your brain for success. Success is a skill.

Become organized with every single thing you do in life. DO you make your bad in the morning before you leave for work? Well if you don't then I have bad news for you. You won't make any money either. The same thinking that says "I don't have time to make my bed, also says subconsciously "I don't have time to start building my buyers list" Sorry, thats a fact.

Stop listening to the morning radio talk shows. Your wasting time. Be disciplined. You don't need to be entertained all the time. Once you get free you can listen to the radio-for now-put in educational CD's.

More to come. Get started today!

Matt,

...Thanks for sharing these tips, techniques and action steps. It is so true that we can create the path we want to take but the first steps start with us being willing to take action and even to avoid some of the negative things we hear each day, on the news, on the radio or even in public. Good luck on all your future real estate deals. Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Matt

What you said is so true. If you don't change how can you except things around you to change. Still remember a lot of things you said when you spent time with Julie and I. The only thing I changed about me was everything. And an still changing today. Thinks for your words of wisdom.

It's always nice to hear Matt Larson speak. He Always tells it like it is.

Thank you - a continued reinforcement when I need it

I got a babysitter last night and sat down with my husband and told him where my mind has been this week.

I told him that we have gotten ourselves where we are and its time to change. I told him that I BELIEVE that I can make this work and its time for me to go 100% but I need him to try and believe it too. Or at least that would be helpful and he said that would get onboard. Now, that doesn't mean he'll invest a lot of time but it was a positive step nevertheless.

I spent the week watching my SFL DVDs and reading this forum and trying to get started. Thank you for posting what you posted. So now I have additional plans for the week.

I will stop watching the morning news, as that has been my routine. You are right, it usually is pretty depressing. Last week I had replaced any TV time with the DG SFL DVDs so I'll keep that up and I have a million self-help books on the shelves so I plan to continue with one that I'm reading now in addition to my DG forum reads.

I don't listen to radio shows and am rarely in the car without children so my radio is usually on the VBS CDs from last year and this year so...the first song on the CD that my daughter ALWAYS wants to listen to is entitled THE JOURNEY BEGINS....so i've decided that makes a point too Smiling I'm getting this journey started!

Thank you for all your guidance and posts. I have enjoyed listening to you on the SFL DVDs and reading your posts and Rena's, Randy's, Joe's posts and everyone else on here. I have decided to keep my brain flying with ideas and my mind positive and open for this to work so I can change our lives in a positive way instead of keeping on the same track its been and keeping doing what we have always done. It certainly hasn't gotten us anywhere good. I would love nothing more than to figure this out and then help others the way you have.

Thank you. - oh, and yes I make my bed every morning, can't recall a time when I didn't. I guess that's a start, right? Smiling

Thanks
Tawnee

Tawnee

That was very well said. Continued success .

Thank you for sharing your

Thank you for sharing your inspiring story Matt! I thought this thread would be about literally being "superhuman" because sometimes I feel like I am when I think about all the successful success that I've had since reading Dean's books. Seriously, sometimes I literally pinch myself because I just can't believe it! Even when I get heavily intoxicated (with multiple bottles of Cristal and vintage wines) I still sometimes find myself trying to mow grass in the middle of the street at 3 A.M. and I'm trying to scream Dean's name over the sound of the lawn mower... Dean! DEAN!!!!!!

But after I read your post I realized that it wasn't about that at all. Thank you Matthew for your inspiring and truly brilliant ideas and tips.

DVD's?

Good morning, As alwaysit's a pleasure to read your posts with breakfast. However today's was a bit more informative than usual.I'd like to thank you and Tawnee both.I had no idea there were DVDs that came with the SFL system. everything I have on it was downloaded onto my computer! What's up with that? I really need to look into that one. What you said about beeing organized is kind of weird timing wise because I just mentioned to my roommate that I've been different lately. I have only watched maybe 2-3 hours of TV in the last 2-3 months. Everything I had scattered all over my little computer table has long since been filed, stapled,or put where it belongs with like material (fsbo's, website lists, etc.) It's kind've like The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers I still look the same, but what have I done with John? I'm really glad of the transformation. It suprises me sometimes, but in a good way. Now I really have to find out about my DVDs. Thanks again for the great info.Unfortunately,it's time to go to work. Oh well hiho hiho. Take care,God bless and keep those posts apostin'. Johnnym

I'm a use to be Iowa girl raised on the farm. Thanks for that kick in the pants Matt. I need it. You did a great job with Edge 10, you have really grown and changed. Very happy you have made a success with real estate investing. I'm going to be bold and say I hope to be the girl from Iowa that has that same success. Thanks for taking the time to post and answer questions for everyone.

Becoming SuperHuman

Thanks Matt, it's what I needed to read. As strange as it might seem, if I don't have time to make my bed in the morning then I don't have time to build my buyers list, really hit home. Great analogy. Also the news and radio talk shows really are a downer and useless, thanks for the reminder.
Full speed ahead.

Becoming Superhuman

Sitting at the computer late at night (1 a.m.) and going over what we've accomplished in the two weeks since we got the DG books. Things are happening much more quickly than I expected. But part of the reason is the work Alice and I have put into this in a short time.

Matt's correct - you have to go beyond yourself. Superhuman!

Good luck to all,

Jim and Alice

I'm in trouble

because I don't make my bed all that much any more. It seems when my bed is made, there is a huge sign on it that calls to my kids 'COME JUMP ON ME'. For some odd reason, it is much more enticing to them when it is all made and pretty. It isn't long before pillows start flying to and fro and the sheets and blankets end up on the floor.

However, if I leave the bed unmade, there is no interest whatsoever in the bed. So, I've deviated my strategy. Leave the bed unmade and start the day without all the drama of the 'COME JUMP ON ME' results. So, I've had to start thinking a little differently! Sticking out tongue

I will have you know though, that my 11 year old (and 10) do not do this, but when I turn on the real estate and self help CDs in the car, my son has taken a keen interest in RE already. I just need to learn how to change my MP3s into regular CDs to play in my ancient CD player in the car to play Dean's books in my car. Luckily the 2 and 3 year old fall asleep with them on, another added benefit.

It is CERTAIN we will SUCCEED! Smiling

Oh no, he has STRUCK again!!!

I think you're Superhuman, Edan! Shocked Anyone mowing the street has to be!

**cough, sputter, cough cough** Get some artificial turf! No need to mow (or be confused about having to mow) and then you can hear yourself screaming Dean's name to your heart's desire. (On second thought, It may be best to keep that grass and lawn mower so that the underlying screaming can't be heard by the neighbors.)

**cough, sputter, cough cough** However, If you're mowing the street in the first place, maybe its hopeless anyhow. I hope its not a ride on mower going up and down the street at that hour of the morning! Someone might think you're a little off yer rocker, ! Jawdropping!

Thanks Matt

For posting this tread,it really is a wake up call..so how are we starting our morning off? Are we filling our minds watching the morning news, reading the morning newspaper plus radio talk shows. You are right Matt we don't get anything out of these, but bad news. Like what The Good Lord Says "What Ever A Man Thinketh So Is He"...Thankyou for the great advice..Oh yeah it is a habit for me to make my bed every morning before going to work.May You Continue To Be Blessed In All Your Endeavors. Cecelia

Thanks again Matt

Analogy About Making The Bed In The Morning ... Wow

What jolting "food for thought" that really was.
It only takes a couple of minutes to make the bed, of course ...
Good point re: the "self-sabbotaging" thoughts that sub-consciously go with not doing it.

If I may add an item to the great list ...
Be selfish. Protect your your incoming thoughts while driving.
Don't let your mind be ping-ponged around by a succession of songs and advertisements.

Best automotive thing I ever did (years ago) was begin to drive everywhere quietly.
During driving time, I let my own thoughts develop and simmer.

It's a brief interval where the world cannot get to you (unless you also wear a blue tooth while you drive every place, which I don't.) I'm very selfish with my "head space" while in the car -- and I don't mean the vertical clearance between me and the sun roof.

No exaggeration, it's remarkable how those little stretches of time can either clear your head ... or permit existing ideas to come together.

Sure, if I have a passenger, I will usually turn on the radio for them ...

I admit it -- sometimes just to entertain them -- so I can continue to "block" them both out, rather than be drawn into conversation. Rotten motive, perhaps! Smiling

My behind-the-wheel time is (preferably) sacred quiet time.

Consider it !

bumping.

bumping some good stuff to the surface!

thanks Matt! appreciate you

Jen

Good bump

thanks Jen, for bringing this back to the surface; I missed it the first time around... great stuff! absolutely true- not so much to become superhuman, but more like making sacrifices if we really want to succeed!
