I am from Hawaii also. My mom's side of the family or most of them still live on Kauai and my mom and siblings live on Oahu. I love Hawaii and there is on place like it other than the carribean. I live in San Antonio, TX so you are not far from me. I wish you Much Success with REI. One thing I love about Hawaii is the Ohana. The other thing is that even if you are not related, everyone becomes aunty, uncle, or tutu. Have you checked to see if there is a Hawaii Club in Houston? I believe there might be which can keep you connected so you don't feel so far away.

It's nice to have another island girl here on Dean's site.You mention that your mom's side of the family are from Kauai.My tutu is from Lihue, Kauai she moved to Honolulu when my mom was little,also my aunts and uncles.I haven't checked to see if there is a Hawaii Club here.How is your journey in REI so far? I'm trying to get my A-List together.At first I wanted to do lease option the way Greg Murphy does it..But I read a post here I forget who posted it he said that it is illegal to do lease option here in Tx.I don't know if it's true or not,I'm going to do alittle digging to find out.It was nice to hear from you. I know for sure it's not illegal. Find an investors group in Houston. Actually if you email me I'll give you a name of a large investors group in Houston, I am involved with them here. I don't believe we're allowed to promote anyone/anything outside of DG's site on this forum, so email me if you want info.

I've just started here and am surprised to see you here on the forums. Yes property prices in Hawaii is overinflated but I'm finding lots of good properties now that I am looking.
