I don't know if you saw it on TV just a few minutes ago but the US Women's soccer team cam back from the dead to win a berth into the semi-finals. How did they do it?? By not giving up. Against great odds against a Brazilian team, they just didn't give up even when they were down. They had bad ref calls and they just didn't give up. And that's the lesson for everyone here that is reading this.
In America, we can be what we want to be if we just strive for it. No excuses, no crybabies. If you don't have what it takes to be a real estate investor, find something else that you have passion for. If you have no drive, just go get a job somewhere as you will NEVER make it as a real estate investor. You'll help your family more with a paycheck from a job than just empty dreams as a REI. It is just too tough for people that can't persevere.
The win for team USA was a great victory and you can do it too but you must have heart; you must have drive; you must want it enough to win.

Totally agree!
Thanks for the comment. After watching what those girls went through to win, I just know that we can also attain greatness if we just apply ourselves in a constant manner. It proves that old adage: Winners never quit and quitters never win!!!

This is soooooooo TRUE! I have met a lot of people who wanted to get into REI, but you can tell when someone really has the drive to succeed.
Here is a simple question you can ask yourself to see if you have what it takes to make it in REI.... Are you willing to go door knocking right now to make that first check? Are you willing to go out at 2am to put out bandit signs? If the answer is yes to either of those, you probably have what it takes to make it.
You can still definitely make it without door knocking or putting out bandit signs, but I was just trying to give an example. Some of the best stories come from people who were just so motivated and didn't have any money to start, but did whatever it took to get that first deal done! Do what it takes and NEVER GIVE UP! You will Fail, but just keep pushing forward!
When it comes to REI in my opinion, your education is only about 30% of what makes you successful... The other 70% is motivation, drive, stubborness, desire and having the right mindset!
Just remember without pain, there is no gain!

It won't take long to weed out the weak at heart in this business.
Especially now!
I've been in the game for 17 years and still finding a need to costantly motivate myself to charge ahead with all the market changes.
But once you get a taste of the money to be made and even the people you can help, you can't get enough.
I still say though, "The Money Won't Keep You", unless you have a passion for the business.
Thanks Bill!

.....Great story and thanks for sharing It makes me remember of another team on a cold February day. What if the odds were against you? Could you achieve the unthinkable when others thought you did not have a chance? Well, do you BELIEVE?.......
I was a very young child but remember the Miracle on Ice, 1980 USA hockey team. It was unbelieveable the way the entire nation rallied around this huge underdog and the nation's pride was seen from coast to coast, from sea to shining sea.

Thank you! No more excuses! Time to take action!
I always believe that anything is possible, there is always a way. Having faith in that keeps you going until you reach your goals. But do you ever really reach your goals??? After reaching a goal, you always should have another goal after that, and so on and so on...

Bill, you are absolutely right. USA was getting bad calls and could have easily blamed a well-hard effort on the refs for a loss. But they kept pushing, even with a player short, and scored on their very LAST opportunity of regulation.
Great example of persisting, taking responsibility, and playing to win!

I've been in all sorts of sales positions and the one thing you have to know is that every "NO" gets you closer to "YES". I've been kinda sitting on my laurels the past few weeks... Time to get my butt in gear and get out there and get that "YES" and get some deals!!! Thanks for the reminder Bill!

I am not really a soccer fan and really do not understand the game that well, however, my sons and husband really enjoy playing the game. However, I must admit, I became a very excited fan watching the girls beat Brazil and again today vs France. They just never gave up.
I am struggling to make my first deal, but they and Bill have inspired me to keep going. I am in the process of making offers to lock up several assignment deals with a buyer today. I just need to get over the first hurdle!! Wish me luck.

The USA women team showed great sportmanship as their oponent (Japan) took the victory; they fought hard, made some mistakes, but never gave up!
Doesn't this sound like I'm referring to a team of Dean's REI students?? We always work hard, we sometimes make mistakes as we learn, but we never stop trying!
Wishing everyone success,
