OfflineWell I was in the office yesterday morning listening to Dean's weekly blog as I always do but this one hit home. It brought me back to times in my life when things were not so great, like getting hand me downs for Christmas,used toys, to not getting anything at all, but our house was always filled with love. You see Jeremy and I were not born with silver spoons in our mouth, far from it and we have worked very hard to get where we are today in the REI world. So I sat back and listened to Dean's blog again, then BAM, I've got a crazy idea and here it is.
Jeremy and I will donate $100.00 to Dean's program to give a helping hand up to anyone who needs it. We are also isssuing a challenge to the Inner Circle Group Members to match our donations.

This makes me think that even us ones who could use say 5,000 or so to get started could also give as well. Maybe I could give one hundred dollars too. Then maybe this can become something that could occur twice a year and two people could be helped. I think people should also apply and maybe everyone that gave money could vote for the winner. I could give and maybe I could also receive in the future. I would be willing to help someone with a small amount of money anyway. Just a thought that anyone could help and we could pool our money to help someone get a leg up.

I'm a firm believer in "the more you give the more you get" quote - both monetarily and in all other facets of life as well. I have many causes and people I support, and am always ready to spread that into the DG family. I'm sure Dean will select worthy recipients who will put it to good use.
