Set For Life * Question & Answer Forum

A lot of us have started to dig in to our new SFL site and tools.

As we figure it out, find a neat trick or helpful tool we could share that with each other here.

If we are struggling with something, chances are maybe someone has figured that out, and can tell us how.

We have the training videos and webinars, but this gives us a 24/7 platform to work and share with each other in the DG SFL family.

Thanks everyone. Here's to our massive successes!

Very Impressed!

So far I am very impressed!

The training has been awesome (though I have to do the replays, since I am typically at work when they run them).

The SFL site is awesome, be sure to set up your squeeze pages, I am already getting leads.

The EDGE videos are or course awesome, be sure to watch the bonus videos!

And Traffic Geyser! WOW...can't wait to get this up and running! Ordering my video equipment today!

I could go on and on, this will certainly change the playing field.

romote areas

When I went on total view for some comps, they also had none for my area. I live in farm country 50 miles both directions between Madison and Milw..
I did try when someone called me about a short sale. She has 30 acres and a 4700sq foot home which is rare in this small town. She said even the realtor couldn't bring up comps in that area. So what does that mean for some of us. Do we search other areas for size and type of home.
My sister lives in Kansas and always tells me to move there, I see the heat indices and you can have them! But I want to move to Wyoming and wonder about real estate investing there too.
I am not sure what this Lead Pipe is, but I'm not even close to computer savvy, so running comps is already complicated for me.
Have a great day!

Response to your post .....

Hello Terri,

Both webinars that Josh has held (the most recent one being this past Thursday) are available in the classroom portion of the SFL "back office section and are VERY informative. I was going through these posts earlier this morning. I believe a few other students asked the very same question.

It's a little comical to read some of the comments. I thought I was the only one in the world that didn't have the patience to wade through all the technical "stuff". There appears to be no shortcuts but even I am beginning to understand this amazing program!

Good luck.

Best,

Ralph

poor customer service

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of DG and this forum and everyone that helps. I have referred so many people to this forum. Thank you.

On another note, I have been quite disappointed in the customer support for SFL. I have had constant problems with the system which I wont bother going into. Feel free to PM if you want the details. For the record, I also own a successful online store, so, I'm quite comfortable around websites and computers. The key problem I'm having today is a lack of qualified response from Support. I've had a few key questions regarding the website development wizard and have yet to get a solid answer.

I'll therefore ask the forum - I used the ohiosbesthomeseller template. I cant figure out how to add in my images of houses I have under contract. The video trainings are very low level and rather useless. I sent emails to no avail and recently tried to call Cus Svc but as should be no surprise to anyone, I was sent to voicemail and had to leave a message. So frustrating. I'm working every free moment after running my company all day and cant afford this downtime.

Sorry for the rant, but knowing the forum, I'm sure you dont mind and moreover I'd be in debt for any help.

Thanks and best wishes to everyone

Dave Visco

RE: Customer service

Dvisco,
I apologize that you are not having a great experience with our customer support staff. I will look into this and have someone contact you to address your questions. I can assure you that they are able to assist and are happy to do so. As for the training videos within your SFL Smart Automation account, these are just a starting point and will go deeper on each call/webinar training. If you still have questions that the instructor isn't touching on, simply send us an email and we will get a response in a timely manner. Also, we will be holding a Q & A call at the end of our training series, so you will be able to ask any questions you still have. Hope this helps. Thanks!

SFL

I haven't tried to do anything on the web training. But have to call them today.
When I go under my internet explorer and sign to SFL, then click on classroom, bring up what I want to view, it keeps coming up "navigation to this webpage is canceled."
Some one told me to sign up under Firefox. They helped me set it up. But now when I click on classroom then pick what I need to view or the squeeze page training or any others, it is so tiny we can't make them out. We try to enlarge it, but it only will enlarge the original page. So I still can't learn anything or do anything with it.
What is going on, does anyone else have this problem?
Also, I tried to email them for help. It brings up where you type in your question but not being computer savvy, what do you do with it then....there is no send button.
I love their DVD training, but the classroom stuff is useless for me.

Sandi - IE Navigation cancelled - Solutions

Hi Sandi,

FIREFOX: I have been using Firefox to view the classroom videos with no problems. When you click on a video to play the player screen opens. At the bottom where the time bar scrolls across, just to the right is a button with a square box icon in it (just left of the mute button) If you click that it will make the screen go to full page (Large) view. Click it again to go back to the normal (small) view. I hope that works for you.

If you want to use IE to view them you should check out this great post from "Daisy"

Glennda, MSully, aVincent and Bodeen: If you are getting a "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" window, this may help:

The problem is a security setting for Trusted Sites. The following solved my problem:

1. Close out all documents or programs you have running.
2. Open your Internet browser.
3. Tools
4. Internet Options
5. Trusted Sites
6. Security tab
7. Clear the box "Enabled Protected Mode"
8. OK
9. Restart your computer
10. Open SFL website
11. Click on Classroom
12. Click on a link
13. A window will appear "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was entered securely?" Answer "NO". Every time you log out of the website and log back on, you will see this window the first time you reopen a link.

Karen

P.S. Today's webinar was AWESOME. What a system!"

Customer service

Thanks for response. I did not hear from anyone today so I called. They began by going through their normal script. I explained this was not necessary and that something was clearly wrong with my account. She was very polite and walked through each page on the Web Wizard. At one point she got to a screen that did not appear the same from my end. She put me on hold and after a few back and forths discovered my account is once again screwed up. So now, "they're" working on it. I also reminded her that I cant see any cash buyers. This has been an issue from day 1 that's never been resolved. So, I guess I wait and hope they can rectify the problem.

Dave Visco

RE: Customer service

Dave,
I can set up a call with you and Brian Pritchard, whom knows everything there is to know about the system. I will send you an email to get this set up. Thanks.

SFL

Scott
Thanks I will try it again this afternoon. When I tried to enlarge it before, the whole screen would enlarge but not the videos enough to still read them. Jeremy did call me and also said to always say "No" for the secure webpage, when I did that on explorer, it finally opened it up.
My computer is only 13" wide, the one I had before was smaller. But it was free!
I am so far behind on the videos, and for everyone else that has major financail set backs, I ordered everything I could from DG. No I didn't have the money, but because I kept up on all my bills, so if I needed some grace time from any of them, I could get it and pay for some DG training.
The training is awesome!! And I know I can do a deal or deals before the end of next week. I have several homes I found.
So sometimes we just need to shuffle some bills and go out on a limb and try.
I am excited to see what doors the Lord will open for me now. I can't wait to get out the contracts!
Thanks for all the info you and several others put out. It helps those of us who are struggling alone on this, feel like we have all the support we need.
Have a blessed day!
Sandi

how is every one done so with SFL?

has anyone done any deals directly from the SFL Sytem yet. If so, can you please provide us with a break down on them?

Many Thanx

FYI?- shortcut @identifying mutiple cash buyers @ "pipe lead"

Hey fellow SFL/DG family members!

I apologize in advance if you aleady know this but here goes anyway for anyone who might not.

I spoke with Chelsea at customer support to see if there was a way to identify cash buyers who had purchased more than 1 property in one place.

Yes ... you can! Go to "marketing" then "pipe leads" then click on "buyers" on the top tab. Presto ... ALL the properties cash buyers have purchased are grouped together. In my area I had 104 pages of cash buyers in one county and I'm lazy! I sorted through all 104 pages in a matter of only a few hours and saved them to "seller leads". Now I'll go back and further refine that list and look up each of their telephone numbers and then call them.

Hope this helps ...it sure did for me!

Good luck. I wish ALL of you great success and an amazing day!!!!

Kindest,

Ralph B.

Talmadge Bell - Excel Spreadsheets

Thank you!

Title Company or Attorney for NYC

Can anyone recommend a Title company or Attorney in the NYC area that does assignments??

Thanks
Freddie Mac

title company

Hi
In Deans book Profit From Real Estate Right Now, on page 166 he does say to never use a title company for an assignment.
He said the title companies job is to make sure the title is clean, and are not in the business to give legal counsel.
I called a real estate atty in my town in Wis, the first atty told me they don't do them and basically laughed at me and Deans program, even suggested I have my realtor go back to school. 2 weeks later this same office had a call in on the radio and the main atty was on. He said they call them here Purchase Agreements and in there, it does say, can assign. Then another form I printed from Deans forms, there is one short one for when you assign the contract between just you and the buyer. This atty said to just bring it in, and he will check that everything is okay for our state.
So I would use an atty, at least then you have the right counsel.

problem with calendar

when i put in a continuing appt. on the sfl calendar and clicked reoccurance, it came up on every line, on every day and into next month - i spoke to customer service and they didn't have an answer . i tried the edit button on the top of my laptop screen, clicked on the dates on the calender, etc, there's no delete button. help!!!

Calendar Help

In your calendar if you double click on the event, a small window opens and asks "open this occurrence" or "open the series", click on the appropriate button, just that day or the whole sequence of days. When the next window opens there is an X in the top bar next to the printer icon. If you click the X that will delete the event. Either the single event or the entire sequence depending on the box you checked at the beginning.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Regarding choosing counties for your cash buyers list

From what I remember from the video, he said to be careful about it, because you can't change it once you choose. However, perhaps Customer Support can override it for you and allow you to rechoose... Their # is 1-877-778-9374.

My questions on SFL Auto-Responder

I decided to copy my question from the other thread I posted since it's been a day and I haven't gotten a response, and this thread seems pretty active.

I am new to real estate entirely, but am digging in and excited to get my first deal done. I just set up my buyer website, and put my own personal email info in the field and filled out the info to see what type of auto-responder message I'd receive. Near the lower half of the email it has "Click here to download your free report" with a link on the word "here". I clicked it just to see what others would be getting, and see that it's blank. One thing I noticed in SFL is that every 3 days for 27 days the auto-responder sends an email, and shows an area where you can upload a document for each of the emails.

My question is, how or where can I find these documents to download that way I can upload them into my auto-responder, or does it work a different way?

P.S. I noticed one thing kind of interesting, perhaps a glitch. When I put my first email address in the auto-responder I receieved everything fine. I then put in a second email to test the address also, picking slightly different criteria when filling out the form. I noticed however, with the second email, it somehow carried my personal email address of the first email onto the body of the second email auto responder. Curious, I used a 3rd email address and checked to see if it would show the 1st, and 2nd email address in the body near the top, but it didn't, it worked fine.

P.S.S One other quick question: When someone fills out the info in the auto-responder, where does that info get sent for me to read? Is it stored somewhere in SFL? e.g. I want to find a 2 story home with a big back yard, vaulted ceilings, and lots of windows.

Thanks a lot in advance Smiling

More SFL Auto-Responder Questions

CHECK THIS OUT....

Go to your lead pipes and bring up your cash buyers.
Now put a check mark on "type" at the top left to select them all
Click on "save selected leads"
Now click on rehabbers ( this is where I save them)
Now click "save"

Now go to your buyers tab and click on "Rehabber" Your list should be saved in there.
Click on the property address you want to see and BAM!!!! The buyers address is there for you!

You will see the property address as the name and then below that is the buyers address... HOW"S THAT FOR AWESOME!!!!

No need to search for the buyers address it is already in the SET FOR LIFE SYSTEM!

Carol Stinson mentioned going to lead pipes and saving the cash buyers list as rehabbers. After you have it saved, it lists every cash buyer under the section you chose. e.g. rehabber She continues "you will see the property address as the name and then below that is the buyers address..." From what I've noticed, I tend to see some addresses in the name field, but MOST are just names and not addresses, then below the name field, the address field of the cash buyer does show the address. I've come up with a few questions:

1. Is there an easier way to look up the property address the cash buyer purchased, perhaps through the buyer > rehabber tab, or do I just have to go back to lead pipes and search to find the address that way? If I can make a suggestion to the SFL Dev team, allow us to see this info for all cash buyers side-by-side rather than trying to compare the saved list to the lead pipes. And also, when we go back a page, please allow us to go back to the page we were on, and not reset back to page 1 each time.

2. I noticed my imported cash buyers list has duplicate entries of the same buyer, with the exact same info for each of them (sometimes it shows the same entry 8 times).

3. I noticed on the window with some of the buyers names populating (the ones in the same window as the name/address field, below it where it shows the state & city,) a few of them show states other than the one for my chosen counties. One of them said New York, and another North Carolina, when the two counties I chose are both in Texas.

4.Does everyone in this list use SFL?

5. I noticed the email buyer function in the cash buyers window. Does SFL have every cash buyer's email stored, but where we can't see what their email address is?
Note: I have not yet tried actually sending one yet to see if it works. Also, I'm very new to real estate, and excited to get that first deal down.

Regarding Customer Support

I was told to take my questions to Customer Support. So I called and the lady I spoke with didn't know the answer to any of my first three questions. I didn't really even get into the more technical ones. She said the answers were covered in the training video, but I assured her it wasn't. She told me that the best she could do was have a tech support agent call me within 24 hours... I know the feeling she is going through, being bombarded with several questions for a system they are just learning themselves. I did tech support for 2 years, and can empathize. I say this because I think that they should learn a bit more in-depth training to be prepared for the questions we have. The auto-responder video doesn't cover anything about how/where to get the documents uploaded when you "Click here to download your free report" with a link on the word "here" near the lower half of the email. The system has great potential and works great once it's all set up, but this is part of the basics and was not covered. For now, everyone that opts in, gets a blank free report. And this is just the surface of my questions... I will share the answers when I receive a callback. Smiling

You know what I would love???

If there was property type on the cash buyers list that indicated if the purchased property was S/F or Multi- Family. I'm trying to find a multi-family buyer right now and I guess I'm just going to have to send out letters to all of them and hope that someone responds that is one. This would be great because you could have a different marketing campaign for each.

Just a thought Smiling

Cash buyers list in SFL

Hi,
I've a question - hope someone can help out: I recently created a cash buyers list using the SFL (in the marketing section) and got an impressive list of more than 700 cash buyers. Unfortunately, not even a single one of them with a phone number... Is this "by design"? I started looking up the names in the list in 411.com and so far, they either came up empty (no phone number or no listing) or came up with too many listings which made it impossible to decide who was the actual contact I was looking for. Very frustrating... Any ideas?
Thanks,
Omri

Omri

I am sending them letters rather than calling. Their mailing addresses are listed along with the property address they purchased. Also, it just occurred to me that since we have their mailing addresses, do a reverse look up, not by their name but by the mailing address.
