Name:
Verna Mason
Location:

About Me:

I retired from Federal Government in early 2009 after 40 years of service. I was previously a licensed Realtor, but inactivated my license about 5 years ago. Happy to be retired but there is more month than money. Now I know what folks mean when they say they are on a "fixed income". I'm not liking it too much that I have to pinch pennies even more than ever before.

Interests:
traveling, baking, sewing, meeting people and having my own business

Investment Potential

JulianT_1@yahoo.com's picture

Hello Verna,

My name is Julian and I am an investor on the eastern shore. This area is ripe with foreclosures and pre-foreclosures. I have access to Deleware properties also as I am 5 mins from the state line. Looking forward to sharing information and potentially working together to create a flow of wealth and security. I hate pinching pennies too. lol

Keeping In Touch

newage8767's picture

Hi Julian,

Great to "meet" you. I haven't done my first deal yet. i am still trying to get my "team" together. I am so ready to attempt my first deal, but I need to make sure I have all my ducks in a row first.

Are you new to the investment business or have you surpassed your first deal? I am looking for a "buddy" that I can run things by. It's kind of like exercising alone! I don't do it unless I have someone to do it with! Having someone to go through this with me will be a great help.

Thanks,

Verna

Pinching Pennies

Congratulations Verna on your retirement!
I fully understand about the retiring on one-third of what already wasn't exactly enough. Seems like you have the right stuff to be successful at this & whatever business venture you choose though. You have it all in place and just need to work smart and differently than you have been used to. I know you'll do well.

Hope to work with you soon,

Hi Verna

I appreciate the encouragement.

I do have a question that I can't seem to get anyone, including support to repsond to.

Do you know how the "Contribute" link on the left works?

I created a new group, but something seems to be wrong with it. Support won't allow me to put in a support ticket; keeps saying I'm not allowed due to some administration reason. I called the support number but keep getting a recording about hours of operation.

Thanks,

Hey Verna...

What's good Verna? Good to see people wanting to enhance there real estate investing knowledge. It's not hard once you stay involved in it everyday. Start by reading Dean's book and absorb the strategies laid out & this website... This is such a good website, to me one of the best. Very informative in many topics. Research this website throughly if you haven't done yet! Wish you the best in your REI journey!

Hi Nelson,

I agree that this is the best site I have been associated with. I actually have gotten somewhat addicted to it. After reading DG's books I went to the site and picked up so much information it's unbelievable. I recommend to everyone to go through every forum and read all the posts. Yes, it's time consuming, but that's how you will gain all the information you will need to get started.

As I was reviewing the posts, if I came across information that was important (i.e. explanation of how to do something), I would copy and paste the information into a word document so I would have it for my future review. I sort of created a desk reference for myself. After reviewing so many posts you tend to forget where you saw what!

I saw in your profile that you were raised in NY. Is that still your home or have you relocated to another state?

Just take your time to learn the REI biz. Some people like to jump in too fast and end up getting in over their heads only to find themselves in a RE financial jam! Make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you attempt that first deal! Good luck and I wish you much success.

Helping Out

Hello. We are new to the real estate business and have been part of Dean's group since 2013. Although we have not made a deal yet, we are still very much determined. We are looking for individuals who are hardworking, trustworthy, and experienced to team up with. Even advice or tips would be a big help. Although we live in South Carolina, my son and his wife live in Waldof, Maryland. I am hoping that they can do business on their end while I still try to do business on mine. If you are interested in teaming up or are willing to offer up any advice or tips, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please consider and please respond. Thank you!
