Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #158 - Going Back for Seconds...

Going back for seconds is fine this time of year. You may be one of many who've been eating leftovers for 3 days now. But this week, Dean's got a message about a different kind of "leftovers."

As we steam towards the New Year, the resolutions of 2011 may be sitting in your mental-fridge...time to clear them out. Watch this week's message and get your mind right (early) for the year ahead.

cfish32's picture

Thanks Dean for reminding us to do something different if what we've been doing isn't working. For all of us who want to get deals done early 2012 we need to start now and not the beginning of next year. I know I'm going to try some different things to create more leads.

Thanks for the blog! All the best to you!

To everyone's success!

ACTION STEPS

PaulYoung4ever's picture

Thanks for the encouragement. You are so right, I tend to talk and dream and stay in the clouds. I have a lot of goals. I just need to break it down into action steps and start with step one and walk it through.

Refreshing Dean!

Hey Thanks Dean!

While things have been slow the last month or so, this year was certainly a blast from last year.

I look forward to Big and Better in 2012.

Happy Holiday's to You and Your's!

Getting Started.

BobStanis's picture

Thank You Dean for Reminder,
I have been in construction my entire life and some of the projects put before me were huge. Getting started is always the biggest hurdle to get over. Once you stop looking at all that has to be done and start doing what has to be done first, things start to flow. 1 step at a time, don't try to do it all at once. Lay out the steps and Do step one now. Step 2 will naturally follow.
You're insights are always spot on.

Bob

regards goals blog

Thanks dean: Set Goals, make offers, I know I have set goals, but didnt follow, looked at houses made no offers, you are so right if I dont take action,I will never make money, but you really know how to get your point over to all. That is oh so true. my roadblock was didnt have money to buy house, I have learned thats an excuse. We can always find some way, because you have taught us very well. Thanks again for giving me another push. New Year's commitment

Thanks Dean for the encouragement, just what I needed. I have been shot-gun with so many different things that I have not accomplish any of them. I hope 2012 will be better:)

Wholesale houses

I am new at this and trying to wholesale some houses. I have a few now to offer, but I need someone to make an offer to move them. Do you purchase homes in the Delaware area?

The Plan 2012

Ok Dean I giving myself a new goal to have at least 1 deal happen between now and march. I am writting this down and will continue to network.

realistically the holidays are here and the year end and time for me is limited. The auction I attened was a bust! w/one guy buying everything up in the room-I still can't believe it. I know I gotta get over it and move on but without more buyers-can I or should I be putting in offers?

Oh yeh still need a investment friendly broker.
I know-make phone calls.......I will continue to keep the faith for now-anyone have any suggestions- Love to here from you now!
Michelle

Yes! Begin the New Year now!

Thank you again Dean and all the DG family-

I have a tendency to have a 30,000 foot view of most things, but when it comes time to get ready for the New Year, in recent years I do this:
- I write down each person and "thing" I am grateful for in detail
- I pull out my last year list and reflect with no regrets, noting what changed and how I can improve by those changes
- and make my list of goals for the new year
This year I began at Thanksgiving; I spent the morning writing to each person in my family telling them how I was thankful and what I hoped for for them and how I could help. Since my goals are centered around them, helping them and others, I have a head start now and can zoom in on the action steps for each goal.
I am thankful for your reminder to Kaizen-- mindful and deliberate.
Since our Inner Circle in Sept., I am up to 78 offers-- the first accepted on Oct 26th and 5 more since, but still not a completed deal due to my working smart (I hope!) I re-offered on a couple after [free] inspections.
Anyway, I am not giving up 2011 yet-- going full speed ahead, head down, striving to hit your goal of 5 deals for me by year end (rather than the 33 I wanted to do from 30,000 feet up).
Your wisdom gives me flight, the Universe is with us all at DG. Thank you,

Tina

seconds

You are so right Dean! 2012 - may it be a prosperous and healthy year for all of DG family!!!!!!

I am off and running - putting in 25 offers a week and moving toward 50 per week before the year runs out. Numbers alone should help me to begin to prosper in 2012!

I hope everyone will try to do this! And build your buyers list at the same time.

God Bless!

Good Blog Dean.

Your right Dean:
I am not satisified with the status quo, that was my motivation for buying your book in the first place.
I took a moral inventory only to realize, that I'm beating myself up for nothing. I dont need to go back to school to earn a degree in some certificate course, I need to begin with the basic's and to brush up on my math and people skills.
I have already begun to work these problem areas into my life, instead of ignoring them as I once did. So now I fall asleep at night working out basic math problems and some algebra until I cant even think straight. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten up at 3:00A.M. to turn off the lamp next to the bed only to roll over and go back to sleep.
As you made a point of saying,("One step ata time, one bight ata time.") I completely agree with you Dean, concentrate on all the small things and before you know it you are unstoppable.
Many big time Athletes and self made Millionaires reach a hollow point in their live's when nothing they've attained along the way seems to be enough. They are still in search of happiness and cannot figure out what it is that is lacking.
Aside from all of the wealth they may hay accumulated along the way, they forgot about all the little things they hadda do to get where they got. Which is why it is so important for them to re-visit their roots and to get back in touch with where they had come from.
So like you said, "Stop looking at the big picture and concentrate on doing the small things."

The baby steps add up!

I am reminded of the book 'Slight Edge' by Jeff Olsen. It's the seemingly meaningless tiny things we do that eventually add up to something great! IT'S THE COMPOUND EFFECT. I am encouraged! THANK YOU!

Hi! Sir Dean, Thanks a lot

Hi! Sir Dean,

With Respect,

resolutions are focus on tweaking my game plans

Learn't not to trust everybody and it was costly. Had to learn real estate and learn how to use a computer caused me some setbacks but believe I can turn things around with the right owner financing. There is always a way to get started and you do learn from your mistakes. Set back but it's a learning process. Still inspired by dean and all those who become successful. Quiting is not an option. Not Exactly an Obstacle

Hi Dean,
I'm glad that you missed me. I missed you too! You won't believe what I am involved in right now that's been keeping me very busy. I am involved in selling my co-op apartment and buying a larger apartment in my building. My offer was accepted, but the seller's contract was out of sight! The seller knew all along that I needed to sell my apaartment before I could buy his apartment. It's a very desirable building and I don't expect to have any problem at all in selling my apartment. BUT the seller's contract had an outrageous demand and I refused to sign it and my lawyer agreed. The seller wanted me to pay him many thousands of dollars if I could not sell my apartment. Have you ever heard of such a ludicrous demand? Does he think that I am an idiot? I learned yesterday that there is a new contract, but I need to see a copy of it before I will even consider signing it. This mess has taken up way too much of my time. My word to the seller will be to beresonable or the deal is off! I'm not wasting any more of my time with him. Most people are decent, but some like the seller are ruthless. His apartment is not the last to be put up for sale in the building and I am in no rush. But I have to say that I never expected to have to deal with such an ogre! Life is strange sometimes! On the other hand I have recently had some good fortune in that my vision has improved a little for the first time in 6 years! And I am so happy and grateful for that. It makes the craziness bearable.
Your admiring student, Lenore

First Post/ Roll Over Goals

Dear Dean & Co,

Hey ! First post ! whew! now that thats outta the way lol.

Just wanted to take a moment to let folks know and share a goal tip. For many years I have used a At-A-Glance Weekly calender/planner.

A little pricy yes , however week to week it allows me to create what I call "roll over goals"
(yup just like cell phone roll over mins)

works like a charm as I just carry / re-write what I didnt get to week to week and kinda gives me a snapshot as I look back of the progress or lack thereof. THE MAJOR plus is by years end it dosent turn into the heartbreaking "new year resoultions" . It basically carries over to the new year hence "roll over goals"

if you choose to apply -- I wish you success.

thanks for letting get in the pool ! its warm and have a profitiable day RE Troopers!!

respecfully
Shawn

Just caught the encouragement today...

Seminar tonight in Sarasota

menendezc's picture

I'm going to the seminar tonight in Sarasota. Looking forward to it. I'm kinda thick-headed, so thanks Dean for the never-ending monitoring of my decision to go.

Keep smilin',

Charley

Stay committed!!

I appreciate the info Dean. Your blogs are great and help everyone, no matter what level they are at in real estate. I am sincerely ready to make 2012 my year with Real Estate..I am a single mom of 5, and after 17 years of being able to care for my family at home, have been thrown out in corporate america 6yrs ago to care for my children.. Keeping up with the demands of being a single mother, and having to work a full time job, has made building my real estate business a little more difficult in different ways..but I will not give up!! Smiling

God Bless,
Holly
