Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #98 - The 2nd Part of the Challenge from Last Week

Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog

So, did you take Dean up on his "news" diet
challenge from last week? If so, how'd you do?

Was it tough for you or no big deal?

We want to hear from you, so post your experiences
below. But before you do, watch this week's video
to see what causes Dean to get all "goosebumpy"
after he reveals part two of the challenge.

I think you're gonna like it.

Think and Grow Rich

Texas Ice Man's picture

Dean,
The author (Napoleon Hill) of the book "Think and Grow Rich" covers this very topic. Basically, the thoughts that preoccupy our minds help to determine who we are and (more importantly) our future. If we clutter our minds with negative thoughts, we will ultimately be negative and your audience will join in with it. However, if we control out thoughts and limit them to the positive topics, we will live out them and be more successful in life. The book also offer information of the "Master Mind", another great mind control (creativity) technique.
I encourage EVERYONE reading this to go find the books written by Napoleon Hill, including “Think and Grow Rich” and “The Laws of Success”. You will be glad that you did.

news challenge

Hello Dean, yes I took you up on the news challenge. At times it became tough not to watch the news because I've been so used to watching it daily. I found the times coming in from a long day to be the most challenging but I definitely noticed the difference as each day went by. Thank you Andre

=/ e z challenge..

I have to be honest and say that the challenge for me is relatively easy. I haven't lived w/ TV for the past 3yrs. I know the majority of it is all geared towards making think, feel, and act a certain way. So no problem=). But thank you Dean..its good to know I have some of the same thinking patterns.

News

A little hard for me. I work for a television station and that is all there is: negative, inaccurate news all day long. But at the end of the year, I will be leaving television forever. I have had enough before your challenge. You are absolutely right about the affect of listening to the news or anyone who is negative. It dampens your spirit and drains your energy. They are still yapping about all the "terrible news" and I have asked them to leave me out of it. But this "news" goes in and out of their ears. I walk away and I can walk away for three hours and they are still talking. You see, they are challenging each other to see who can bring in the most negativity. (smile)

Learned Something

This may sound funny, but I have developed a way of not listening even though the person is talking to me. I just get a deaf ear. It is really hilarious because all of a sudden I get this stare from them and I guess it is my turn to regurgitate negativity. I respond: what, what and it is at this time they know I haven't heard a thing that they have said and this upsets them. If you are not a good listener, no one wants to tell you "things". Anyway I am having such a good time doing this. Also I am deeply into my real estate books, or when they are devulging their "commonsense", I am thinking about how well I am going to do next year when I am finally away from them, the news, and television. I guess they are thinking that I am dopey especially since I am interested in real estate; after all "everybody" knows you can't make money in real estate. (smile)

No news is good news

homestar2020's picture

Thought I would use a cliche for the title of this post. I don't watch the news or read a newspaper anymore, even though I spent 30 years as an editor and reporter in the newspaper industry.

Believe Dean and anyone else who challenges you to ignore the television and newspaper "news." It is not worth your time.

In fact, 99 percent of what happens is not in the news anyway. The truth about what's happening is the stuff they don't want you to know about.

Keep up the good work, all you energetic investors.

Yes, I can! I know I can! You know I can, so,yes, I will.

And you will to because as long as you believe in yourself-worth, and eventually it will come to pass. Every lost deal is not a bad thing. It is just not right for you. Mt thought each day is always the quote, "Do, or do not. There is no try." Those of us who are old enough know who said this. No, I don't miss the news- I plan to make my own every day because I must keep myself psyked up as I am working on"The Edge".

You know what Dean, I did

You know what Dean, I did take you up on your challenge for this week. I have a lot to be gratefull for, last year at this time I was diagnosed with cancer. A year ago I was laying in the hospital bed being told by doctors that i might not make it...that there's only a 50 50 chance for this disease to be cured, and you know what i prayed and prayed and prayed, and then i prayed some more, and some how i guess my prayers were answered because here i am today in remission. Maybe my prayers were answered, or maybe it wasn't my time and going through that was just a test from god for me to dig deep. Not too long after that i found you're book, and not too long after that i was in your success academy, and even though i'm not too far yet, i'm succeeding for the first time in a long time because of someone who cares about others, and his name is Dean. So today i'm gratefull for you Dean, thank you for what you do. Hope this post finds you, Sincerely, Tony H.

The Challenge

ggilding's picture

Hey Dean
The first part of your challenge was no problem, I watch very little new at all, to negative. So I was one up on u for that.
The second part was and is a challenge. So much of the day to day talk is about the negative economy. How this is bad and that is bad and how I'm doing- bad talk- from friends and others. It is hard but I try to change the conversation and if that does not work I just excuse my self and walk away. It really is helping my thinking and out look. Better things are coming my way I can feel it. I thank God every nite and with his help and the DG fmily I know it will be a great journey from here on out.
Thank you dean for your belief in all of us. God bless you.

news

EASY!!!
I haven't payed much attention to that nonsense for years, most of it is out of my control, I can't stop it from happening. It's kinda like worrying; only about 4% of the things you worry about, you can change.

Positive Thoughts

Thanks Dean,

The first week was a little tough as everyone is talking about the news! I did follow the "No Neg. News" and to be honest I didn't even miss the news. This week I have to say I worked to turn those Neg conversation into Positive ones! That in it's self I considered to be a positive challenge. While fight a cold this past week I was able to turn the thoughts about how much better I am the others and that this was "OK" I was also able to chat with a customer about Investments on a positive level that turns out to be some one I will be adding to my team.I am still trying to work on my team but this gentleman was a little down but we talked and by the time he left my office we had exchanged ideas and the prospects we may be able to help each other with! I am very new to this so all of your videos have been a HUGE help and these two weeks have been AWESOME!!! Thanks and I am looking forward to moving forward with my goals in a VERY positive fashion! Thanks Dean and the DG family!

Weekly Blogs 97 & 98

I understand what you are trying to do.
It sounds like the same principles as the SECRET,
which one of your students already posted on your web site. I saw it a few weeks ago posted here, but do not remember where. I have seen the Secret on Ophra Winfrey? numerous times over the past few years and have seen books on it at the store, there is also a web link if anyone is interested. There are also more spitual versions created by Christian groups available.
They use the same principle: be thankful and think positively, it is the only way the universe works. Web Link if interested and if Dean approves it being posted here, is:

Weekly Blogs Flash Player Issue

trivoli26's picture

I have limited computer\internet access at this
time. I tried to listen to the weekly blogs from my so called Android SMART phone and it does not work with Flash player. Do you have another blog format\media player that will work on an Android phone? I tried to download some android media player apps with out any success to play your blogs.

Email me please with any suggestions, I think the MP3 version works, but only see that option once in awhile with some of your tele conferences.

thanks,

I've Got A Feeling......

keepmylifesimple's picture

Hey Dean and the DG Family!

Thanks for putting up with my long posts!
I just get SO excited and do love blogging here!

First, I have to say again, I AM AMAZED at how MANY
people here ALREADY DON'T WATCH THE NEWS and are REALLY conscious of AVOIDING NEGATIVE conversations!

THAT IS a HUGE STEP of PROGRESS in POSITIVE THINKING with Real Estate Investing!! Smiling

All these different posts have been AMAZING to read!! Smiling

I have to say I want to LOL that 2 different posts above are from:

1.) a person who currently works at a TV STATION and is planning to leave soon!!

2.) the other use to work as an EDITOR AND JOURNALIST for a newspaper!!

They BOTH ENCOURAGE people to get AWAY from BAD news! WOW!!

Just about EVERY SINGLE comment contributed towards one of the FIRST SIMPLE REAL ESTATE INVESTING STEPS--
POSITIVITY!!

I still have and remember your "THINK A Little DIFFERENT" System Dean! Smiling

I KNOW that, THAT is what enabled Dean to RISE ABOVE
all the negativity that he had to face in getting started.

I remember Dean saying and have noticed other positive people say that:

Rather than looking at something as a PROBLEM, you have MADE A POSITIVE CHOICE to FOCUS AND USE that SAME ENERGY you COULD use to worry, to FIND A SOLUTION to the problem! (Think A Little DIFFERENT!!)

I couldn't help but notice that ALMOST ALL of the posts are from VERY NEW investors to the DG site!!

So many comments have come from people who JUST STARTED THIS MONTH, last month or only a few months ago!

Dean, WHATEVER new Infomercial you've got out,
it's working like wildfire!!

Perhaps you have done challenges in the past, however, I have a feeling, that what you are doing by giving us VERY SMALL SIMPLE STEPS on these blogs is something new! Smiling

Maybe you are getting a feel of "WHERE everybody is AT" in their real estate progress.

It's obvious that the majority have got the Negative News Diet down pretty well and have to WORK SOME on Negative Inner Conversations with Ourselves and A LOT on Outer Conversations with Others (which can of course affect our inner conversations.) Sad

I have to CONGRATULATE ALL of you who have turned NEGATIVE conversations into POSITIVE ones or have managed to GET AWAY somehow from negative people who refuse to change.

It's going to be interesting Dean, to see if you CONTINUE with these challenges.

Would you ever consider doing 2 blogs per week?
Maybe, one on a Thursday, for us to work on stuff over the weekend and another one on Monday for those who have conquered Thursday's challenge? Smiling

I did notice some who are further advanced and ready for more.
Perhaps you could have one blog for Beginners and another for
More Advanced Students.

The next blog can't come fast enough!! Smiling

Deep thanks for ALL of everyone's ENCOURAGING comments,
Patty Smiling

Will this Blog Get OVER 332 Comments?

keepmylifesimple's picture

Had to jump back on here to say:

After reviewing the statistics for ALL the blogs that Dean has EVER done until THIS week, THIS MAY TURN OUT TO BE THE HIGHEST NUMBER of COMMENTS RECEIVED since Blog # 38!!!

As of right now, there are 230 comments, but the week IS NOT OVER YET!

The HIGHEST COMMENTS to date was on Blog # 38, with 332 comments!

The SECOND Highest comments came from Blog # 93 with 204 comments.

From what I can see, the THIRD highest came from Blog # 42, with 169 comments.

Blog # 42 is from September 14, 2009 (you can look up the blog).

That Blog was called "One Small Step at a Time".....interesting.....the SAME kind of topic this week! Smiling

This is TOO WEIRD. I JUST realized after looking at my account, that the day of THAT blog, I signed up on DG!! I'm sure it's NO COINCIDENCE!!
I thought the name of that blog sounded VERY familiar! Smiling

I believe that the state of the economy right now is
WAKING people up to Real Estate Investing because other things AREN'T WORKING!!

That explains the HUGE number of new students I've noticed that are signing up on the DG website and are also with the Success Academy right now!

NOW I understand why I am so tired after reading comments. Smiling
There are SO MANY this week!

Dean, it must be tough for you to keep up with all these comments, but I know you're NOT
complaining! Smiling

Thought you'd like to see these stats I noticed.

Sincerely,
Patty Smiling

Negativity

donnalee57's picture

I can relate to how good it felt when my daughter was born. I felt goose bumps and the same way you expressed your feeling in your blog. If you are for real Dean your a master motivator and great guy. Keep up the good work. You don't even realize how much inspiration you give others. That is truly what God wants us to do.It is very hard to stay away from the negative cause the world seems to thrive on it. However the poorest of us in this Country has something to be greatful for. For now we still have freedom to pursue dreams, and your inspirational messages give all of us hope.God Bless, Ex Prison Warden where negativity thrived.

Life without limitations...

Thanks Dean for your wonderful website and your weekly blogs...
Besides banning negativity from your life, I believe you need to "halt your limiting beliefs"...Can't means you don't want too. If you want something bad enough you will find a way to make it happen.

No Newspaper Reading

Instead of Not reading newspapers, some education could be given on how to use newpapers positively. The real problem here is that negative people see the negative parts of the paper and positive people see the postive parts of the paper, and this goes for all of life.

positivity

no big deal avoiding the news, but I did not see the Peruvian miners being rescued---was a good thing

This will be a challenge...I teach Middle School

www.RocBuysHouses.com's picture

Dean:

You spoke to me this time...more than usual. I am a sixth grade teacher who deals with violence, cursing and, sometimes, very angry parents. I was just told by the mother of my worst behaved student, yesterday, that parents in the community hate me. It was difficult to stay professional and I responded with , "I don't care. Jesus didn't...Ghandi didn't...I will continue to care and nurture your son. I do need to tell you that the parents of my well behaved students do appreciate me, but are frustrated with me as students, such as your son, who choose disrespectful, naughty behavior, stop me from really teaching."
After listening to your video (I'm home today needing a "BrainHealth Day")I will try now to ignore the negative as much as possible...

I don't take the news to heart

The news may affect some people but I don't let it affect my daily life. My biggest negativity is not finding investors that will match what it is I'm doing. I always have to fit my plans into what it is they are doing and it can be frustrating. I keep looking though. Everyone keep plugging away.

NO-NEG

These are words to live by. Life can be so short. Some people are drawn to be negitive and you need to seperate yourself from those kind of people. They drain you of LIFE.

News Challenge

Dean,
Most people live in the negative always looking at and finding the worst in our world.
In the last year I have had rectual cancer which was extremely serious with small chance of recovery I was determined to whip this and was totally sure I was going to beat the odds and to the doc's amazement I did ( I also broke my ankle during the chemo and radiation treatment)I am told I am cancer free and they put it down to my positive attitude playing a major part in my recovery I have just had a major hernia op two weeks ago but am in great shape (this was the result of the first op and was expected) I take no medications and am still living a very active life style
My point is that I have always believed in the power of the mind and the power of positive thinking. My favourite saying is "there are no problems only opportunties" Turn the problems into opportunities!
That is why I am joining with you and I am determined to succeed

Surrounded!

I've had to turn this around -- not just stop negativity, but consciously create positives -- including making my own energy positive. Looks like it takes real energy to purposefully seek the positive. And what a relief! I like this assignment! Thanks, Dean!
