Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #98 - The 2nd Part of the Challenge from Last Week

Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog

So, did you take Dean up on his "news" diet
challenge from last week? If so, how'd you do?

Was it tough for you or no big deal?

We want to hear from you, so post your experiences
below. But before you do, watch this week's video
to see what causes Dean to get all "goosebumpy"
after he reveals part two of the challenge.

I think you're gonna like it.

No News is GOOD News!

LDCOOK55's picture

Hi Dean,

I took you up on your "news" diet. Boy, how refreshing to not be thinking of all of the bad things going on around me. It gave me more time to think of how I envision my future and how I am going to get there, with your help of course. I caught myself smiling a lot.

I am ready to take on your challenge for the next week and look forward to surrounding myself with positive people.

Thank you,

Lisa Smiling

I got this challange when you made it befor and i'm here to tell you it deffinately changed my life. I can't remember the last time i watched the new's or read a newspaper I felt as if i lost 10 pound's by not carrying around grief that had no bearing on my life in the first place. I am no longer living my life or gaguing my moods on the latest head line's or big story ! Busy on creating my own head line's! Thank's Dean keep teaching I listening along with my DG family member's Barbara

RE: Thanks Dean

I have to admit, I've been on a roller coaster lately. It seems that I take a step forward only so some one can push me back 3 steps. Frankly, I'm getting quite tired of all the negativity and I have resigned myself to stay focused and get moving. I love this site and all you are doing to help us. Thank You Dean and DG family

Great challenges! I have a GREAT one for a 3rd wk LAST PARAGRAPH

cedarcreekent's picture

Hey Dean,

I don't watch the news as it is because years ago I felt it's depressiveness feed into my life. So that challenge was easy. I don't even have a TV or radio. Mostly watch Videos and listen to CDs.

Part 2 of the challenge of "nothing negative" has also been inducted into my life a couple of years ago. I'd find myself being "pulled" into the conversation or the moment and come away with a real negative attitude. I had to put a stop to that and change it to what you are suggesting, 3 positive things that happened to you in the last 24-48 hours. Even, if it's a small thing or like you stated happened long ago.

Beginning of this year, I went a step further and started being a

    "YES"

man. Allowing every situation that presents itself as a challenge and an opportunity to see how far I could go in that direction before the door closes. Most of the time, I've seen it through, whether it ended in a great accomplishment or goal achieved or whether I went as far as I needed to go.
Being a

    "YES"

man lead me to take the chance and invest and involve myself in REI and in 4 months it has been such a ride that doors are opening up everywhere. I'm doing my first deal contract tomorrow, it's not the best deal, but hopefully I can get a small chunk of change from it.
I have to continue to step back and reassess my very small empire from time to time and make sure I'm continuing in the right mindset and in the right direction with all current projects and follow through until the door closes or directions change and reply to all my emails and phone calls in a timely fashion with all my new contacts. Very hard to do, I'm sure you can relate.

Anyway, I wanted to THANK YOU for the challenges. I know they will really change others lives as it has done for me.

Maybe you should make a 3rd week challenge of being a

    "YES"

person, man or woman to round out this whole challenge.

Your the best,
John

Dean, I have to share

my first triumph at home! So, today at 6:20 like every day Mr. Negative came home and started speaking. I CUT HIM OFF, and told him that unless he tells me 3 positive things, I am not going to listen to what he has to say negative. He kinda gave me this strange look and proceeded to to complain. I completely ignored him and he left the room, came back in later and said nothing more.

Now, this may SEEM like a small, insignificant thing, but this is HUGE! You see, I have very poor self esteem, and a lot of it comes from listening to this year after year. If you hear something enough, you start to believe it; whether negative or positive. But, I don't know if its the hype of the message, or the excitement of closing my first deal, and getting a nice head start on my 2nd, but I felt my confidence soar tonight. I did it!

Thanks Dean! I plan to do it repeatedly every day Mr. Negativity decides to creep in. And I told him so tonight, that I will NOT let him bring me down any more. Its a big deal! Smiling GOD BLESS you and your family! My little 2 year old points to your picture on this site and says 'Dean Graziosi' and gives me a big chuckle! Its so cute! I have to record it!

positive conversation

I try not even to listen to gossip none the less engage, but you know what thinking about this exercise has really got my wheels turning, and I do have a lot of situations where I do focus and discuss negative comments ( working in two restaurants doesn't help, u know what im talking about if u ever have)and I do feel better when I'm focused and thinking about positive topics. I'm just getting started but I tell u that the RE biz is very exciting and extremely positive, and maybe most of all very concrete also the proof is black and white right in front of ur eyes, I feel very positive on what the future holds, thanks everyone.

news challenge

I haven't watched the news for quite some me. I find it too depressing and not altogether true. When my son was deployed 3 times to Iraq, I did watch it some. It proved to make me just worry more, so I avoided it. Thank goodness for internet I was able to communicate with him pretty frequently.
I have a much harder time with negative conversations. Most the people I work with are chronic complainers. I have tried not entering in the conversations, but that isn't working too well either. I just keep busy and quiet. I so much want to change how I earn money. I used to be my own worst enemy, but now I realize how powerful thought can be and am trying to stay in more of a positive attitude.

recent video

Yes, I did stay away for awhile but realized I need encouragement. I feel like I have no money. In fact, I have a counselor that tells me I have no money and a wife that laughs at me when I mention real estate investing.
I'm still positive, however. I have God who owns a thousand cattle on a thousand hills. I'm trusting in him. If He wants me to succeed at this then I will. If not, then there are lessons to be learned and I will be better for it.

No News Is Good News!

Hi Dean,
I am new to the DG family and just signed up for the Success Academy yesterday. My whole motivation for buying your books was in direct part to a VERY negative business partner that is presently sucking the life out of me. This man isn’t happy when business is doing well, isn’t happy when we land new clients and is constantly doing and saying things to our staff to make them feel small. I am forever going behind his back and saying “what he meant to say was” just so the staff doesn’t quit.

One of the many sleepless nights I had over this miserable person I caught your infomercial; and on a whim, with the need for change as my motivator, I purchased your books. What I didn’t expect was how fascinating I would find them. I started with Profit from RE Right Now, couldn’t wait to finish it so I could start Your Town Your RE Profits and I am really pumped about starting my classes today.

So thank you Dean for all that you do. Your weekly videos of encouragement always put a smile on my face and a skip in my step.

News Diet

Prior to Dean I had a self imposed news diet. I am a firm believer that the only negativity or anger you experience is the amount allowed by YOU. You can be in control of your emotions. If you have a plan or a goal, why should you care what others think? I don't. I refuse to allow others to infuse me with negative thoughts or feelings. If I make a mistake, I consider it a learning experience, not a step back. You can not change the past, so learn from it and move on with no regret. Regret is baggage; leave it behind. Most sucess is not overnight, it takes time and effort.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE WORKS!

I have to confess that I heard about the miners in Chili beginning their rescue and have been watching. My father was a coal miner, so I was drawn to watch. It has been heart-warming to see the reunions with their families. All the team work involved in the rescue efforts and the miners keeping up a positive attitude during the 69 days they were trapped underground, made me think about how trivial many of my concerns really are and how grateful I am that I can go out into the fresh air, see the sunshine, go to fridge for a snack, turn on the tap for water and millions of other things I used to take for granted.
It also reminded me of the DG family and all the caring people of this site that are willing to help "rescue" others that are having difficulties right now. Sharing their knowledge and experiences for the benefit of others is uplifting to the mind and spirit.
The positive and grateful attitude that Dean talks about is the most powerful tool anyone can have in their toolbox. It can give survival (as with the miners) and progress in breaking free of the rut some people find themselves in daily (financial freedom with the DG family).
Thank you Dean.

Challenge #2

AndyS's picture

Hi all:
I have tried to stay away from the news but I have to admit, I had to watch a bit of news because I need to keep track of the weather. Living in FL, you have to keep your eyes open for freak weather storms and hurricanes. (Look what's gone on this week with hurricane Paula.)
My biggest challenge has been not talking to the few people I always talk to. My one friend (who proclaims to be a real estate investor) has refuted almost everything I have tried to explain to him about what we are doing here. I have invited him to join the calls and come to the webinars but I can't seem to get him over the hump. Worst of all, I have to talk to him because he is my other business's customer. My other friend (of almost 35 years) hates his job and his boss but refuses to join me in my efforts to move both of us forward. He's too scared to fail and too insecure to succeed. Then thers's my Mother (a former real estate agent.) We recently had to move her into an assisted living facility in another state and sell her house. She does nothing but complain about where she is and we can't sell the house (yet) for the money she needs to live on. Even at my last REIA meeting, there was a lot of talk about the negatives of our area.
So I am surrounded by negativity and doing everything I can to shut them out or change the subject but it is not easy!
Hopefully, my DG Family will be a place a respit and my first deal is just around the corner.

Always looking up.

Nothing Negative!!

Dean, Thank you for such wonderful advice....a good news program...is a great idea.

no news challenge

I've done this before. The only things I watch on the news is the weather and sports. If those aren't on, I change the channel. Same thing with the newspaper, but there I read the funnies. It's nice to start your day with a smile!

Blog # 98

Thanks Dean,

The task is hard, but I well Follow your advise.
Please continue to guide us.

news challenge

Dean, I really love this challenge and indeed it is a challenge for me. Going on a news diet would be easy for me personally; however, my husband is always watching the news in the morning when we wake up and in the evening during dinner and before going to bed. What do I do then? I can walk away and do something else and I have another TV to watch positive programs; however, I can still hear the negative news throughout my home. My husband is hard of hearing and needs to listen with the volume up high. I try to get him to stop watching this stuff so much, but he says he has to keep up on what's going on in the world today etc. Have any suggestions?
I tend to be negative at times due to my circumstances, but I am most grateful for so much the Lord has blessed me. Thank you for this particular challenge because it is just what I need to engage in right now.

great

this was a great idea to really speak about helping the spirit through the process..im gonna do my best!!!

thanx dean.....nichole

negative news

Great reminder to stay positive....also enjoy getting the negative nancy's to switch gears and watch their reaction- especially when they talk about someone else and you say they are not that bad or they may have been having a bad day. Why go down in the weeds, stay up in the helicopter.

news blackout

It's hard for me to black news programs cause i'm such anews nut I thrive on information but I can also understand how too much infor can affect your perspective on things in general and make you doubt how a person can make this all work. I lost my internet for months and Dean thought I was ignoring him and his e-mails but I finally found some cheap wireless for $25 a mo. so I'm back on-line.I'm in my early stages to get everything up and running. I've still have so much to learn but it's coming along.

Last week blog.

RTMynard's picture

Dean,
It's been great with out the paper or tv. neg. news.

I'v been replacing it with doing more research on what I have read and taken notes on from your books.

Keeping mind on those things as well,as my husband and I relaxing around here just fishing and release.

This next week is going to be alittle harder, have 2 elderly ladys that just about all they can see around them is whats on the news that is neg.

But I just have the salution to the problem,I have acold think it from the new flu shot they gave at work. Any way they know I won't come over to see them with it.

At work thats going to the biggest challenge, but I am going for it.

Thank you for reminding us there alot of things out there to be thankful.

good news or no news

Valuni's picture

this challenge was not difficult to do- I already avoid the news because they always talk about bad things, (also, they wind up my husband and then we argue about it);
I like the idea of asking for three good things instead-so now we can talk about good things that happened during the day-love it!!
Valerie

no negativety

I have been on the no news diet for months I do not have any t.v. the no negativity is definetly a good challenge keep others wondering whats wrong with me but I say there is something basically wrong with a lot of peoples attitudinal dial that keeps there mind in the mire.

I may have goofed...

Positive words

Hi Dean,
I preach positive speaking to my congregation all the time: "Think God's thoughts (His thoughts are always positive) and speak them out loud.
But to be honest, it's good for me to be preached to by you sometimes (I'm using "preached to" in a positive sense.)

Day 2

Zion Properties's picture

and Mr. Negativity didn't even show up tonight!!!!!! Laughing out loud PROGRESS. I feel like the girl Napoleon Hill talks about in Think and Grow Rich at the beginning of the book. Laughing out loud I broke through. I did it! Jawdropping!

Dean, Thank you for giving me this challenge.
I am grateful for life, my husband, my children, and grandchildren. I will continue to be grateful each day. Thank you.

News Diet

Dean,
I have been avoiding negative news on television. This was a little easier than avoiding negative conversation, but I am definitely working on it. I'm learning to be more grateful for things in my life. Thank you so much for the advise and challenge. I will continue to avoid negative news, and conversation.

no news diet

C-LOS's picture

No news for me, kindea late on the no negative kinda stuff. I am going to make a srtong effort to do this. Just moved to Florida and staying with my sister until further notice. gonna be hard but I am going to try even harder. Thank you for the positive outlook on life.

News Media Diet

I rarely watch the news just because it is so "Negative". I certainly agree and identify with what Dean is saying. And by the way, I'm new to the Dean Graziosi family and am looking forward to learning the practices and principles of the business. A lot to learn but I believe that Dean is the "Real Deal". I truly hope I get to meet him someday and be able to tell him what an inspiration he has been to me. Blessings to you Dean. I believe God is using you to be instrumental in changing many peoples lives. I'm anxiously looking forward to being one of them.
