Weekly Video Blog #50 - Is Life Moving Fast or Slow In Your Town?

Does life seem to be moving at Mach V where you live? Here we are in the second week of November, already. The pumpkins are barely off the porches but the sales on Christmas trees and Holiday lights are already in full swing.

We try to take it a little more day-by-day in the DG offices, because today is what matters. Today is the day you could take that one new action as a real estate investor that will change your life for the better.

In today's Blog Dean has a guest who only a year and a half ago took her first new action and then kept on taking them. Sit back and listen to what she's accomplished so far, then go out there and make it count this week!

Great Blog

Back in Jersey from Phoenix - and this whole experience feels surreal! If I'm dreaming dont wake me up haha! But seriously, from the day I got BARM in April 08, I knew I could make this happen, but I never dreamed I would be having the opportunity to sit down with Dean and talk about my deals and do a blog! It was a fabulous experience and many, many thanks to Dean and his amazing staff for putting me so at ease and making me so welcome. And thanks to everyone on this site..you are all MY inspiration. Knowing that now I am actually being able to give back and be of help with all of your goals and dreams is a truly priceless experience. So believe in yourselves - set goals - take it one step at a time to get there - but DREAM BIG!! Love to all...
Laura
PS - Joe - I loved your analogy. Painting is one passion of mine that I've chosen to set aside for now to devote that time to real estate. So you combining the two really made me smile, and one day I'll have created enough deals to have all the time and freedom I want to paint Smiling
PPS-see you in a few weeks Rina!!!!

You didn't look a bit nervous. You're an old pro now just like Dean! (I tried to comment sooner but my internet connection's been cutting out for some reason.) Anyway, it was really great seeing your blog and I am SO proud of all your successes and look forward to hearing about more to come.

God bless you dear,
Elena

Thanks for the motivation!

I'm looking forward to my first deal, but hesitant about that first leap. It's good to hear how others have succeeded. Good luck with the next 6 deals!

LAURA, YOU AND DEAN SHARING THE BLOG DESK!

If that doesn't say you've arrived, what does?! I was excited to see you today on the blog because I briefly met you at GAIN THE EDGE and somehow your story feels more personal to me. At that time a deal or two had fallen through, if memory serves, and so KODOS to you and your forward motion! I appreciate your parting words about just stepping outside of the comfort zone, b/c it gets easier once you have. Turns out my comfort zone barriers are much stronger than I anticipated?@#% Dang it! Thanks and much continued success!

AWESOME!!

Thanks Laura you inspire all newbies and my self,I havent done any deal yet but I believe it will happen.Wish all DG family the best of lucks....

Props to you!!!

This was very inspiring, these are the type of blogs we need to get started, you know this video sparked my mind in a huge way, I can only imagine how hectic a single mom’s life must be, and yet she has done it and is still doing it! Congrats, and thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks Dean for another GREAT blog !

I remember not to long ago when you posted a thread about how frustrated you were that you got one deal done & couldn't find another deal for a long time. Maybe you should pull that thread back up to show everyone on the DGsite, not to give up, no matter how long it takes.
I'm glad to see you pushed through the hard times in the beginning.
Good Job!

Hey Laura

Dawn_Dean's picture

You little movie star you! Smiling

I'm with Jason on this one. I'm still where you WERE, but still not giving up either because you showed me it's not a pipe dream. One of these days you'll be reading about my killer deal! Smiling

Luv ya,
Dawn

Great job Laura!!!

I can't say anything that hasn't been covered. I am also still trying for that first deal. It seems very competitive around here. I placed several offers but nothing yet. So it's great to hear that persistence pays off. Good luck with all in the future!!

WOW

Hey DG family. I'm just beginning my journey in real estate. I got inspired by my brothers(Twin 1 & Twin 2) and most of all dean's book. I'm hoping in the near future I can share with you guys my success story.

Keep Pushing Regardless.

Gus Ramirez.

So proud of u

You Guys are the Best!

laurajohnson's picture

I love and appreciate all of you and all your support! Jason - you are right. Anyone who reads my journal will follow my journal through all the stages - frustration, elation and everything in between!
Steveh-you say you've put in a few offers and nothing yet - I just want to say I lost count of how many offers I put in before my first and in between each one that came through! Its playing the odds. So keep at it and you will find those deals. Just keep moving on!
Luiz- I want to clarify one point in the blog that came out a little wrong. I didnt raise my kids as a single mom until their late teens. They are grown and on their own now. But I did find myself single and on my own after 28 years of marriage, which in itself presented many fears and obstacles Smiling
There are so many posts here I'm sorry not to mention and thank everyone by name - but I'm reading each and every one of them and it means so much! Heres to all our dreams coming true!

Way to GO Laura Johnson!!!

It was really wonderful to hear Laura's story. I have not been able to get to this site until tonight because I am trying to do what Laura is doing. I hope Laura keeps on keeping on. Thank you Dean for bringing another success story. I hope it encourages many others to strike out and go get it.

Tim

Way to go Laura

I commend you on a job well done, although i'm married, I know some single parent moms and its not easy, but you had the stick-to-ativness to keep going. Way to go

Like Last Week

Like last week, another very inspiring blog. The good thing about these guest of Dean's, is that and I have to admit everything is done by the book. If you cannot show it, it was not done. That is the reality of it all. Laura you have been an inspiration to me ever since I joined the site, and I am extremely thankful. Congrats on your sixth deal. Dean, having these guest presenters on the blog will surely entice the DG family to act. I enjoyed the entire interview process. God Bless.

Absolutely awesome!!

Delayed Closing!

laurajohnson's picture

Hellow everyone. Since I stated in this blog I was closing yesterday - I thought I would update the news. Unfortunately it was delayed...possibly for two weeks, but maybe less. Very frustrating to say the least. SO yesterday the bank tells everyone that my buyer does not qualify for a conventional loan, and it will have to be redone as an FHA. So, always trying to look at the bright side - at that point the buyer could have walked away from the deal, but they really want it and are scrambling to get the few additional items the bank needs. Thats the good news of it all. So my fingers are crossed that we will close by the 20th. With everything I have tied up in it right now I had to scramble to cover bills I thought I was going to just pay off. Plus - my two current cash deals closing by end of the month depends on this money coming back in too. So its all going to be down to the wire for sure. Just another small glitch....after all the ups and downs I've experienced in my short real-estate career I am learning to control my freak outs and trust it will all work out Smiling
