thinks for taking your time to share, I sometime just don't understand why people can't grasp what you are trying to do and all you give back. And yes it did take 9 months for my first deal, And yes i did everything you and your success academy taught, But in the next year did 50, and if I don't do 100 this year I will be disappointed. The reason all this is possible is I have put all your teaching in to place. And for this I think you, my wife and daughters and grandchildren think you. And they will always know were this comes from. If You had not started this I have no ideal were I would be today.

Randy

As Always, thank you

Because I know I do exactly that, and others expect it of me. I have stopped telling that someone about what others are doing on this site because the reply I was getting was, 'well if 'he's doing 2 1/2 deals a week , why aren't you?' And, it gets very frustrating, when I'm trying to explain the possibilities and I'm being measured against them! I went back and read the first couple pages of my journal, and I tell you journaling is a GREAT thing, because you can go back and look at things you forgot you did! Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks Dean

I want to be able to enjoy my millions being happy with who I am. You do your videos with such grace and love. I want to grow in that. Have a great week. God love ya!!!

Weekly Video Blog #96

Hi Dean,
What an incredible message today. It’s this very thing that separates you from all the rest who would be successes at buying & selling real estate, teaching others how to do it, writing books explaining step-by-step how it’s done, leading a social community like DG.com, while overseeing your many endeavors, steering what is an obvious abundance of entrepreneurial thoughts, ideas, and goals.

There’s no doubt that your message today will help a great number of people who may be trying too hard to become successful too fast. Thank you for pointing out that there are many, many levels of success, not the least of which is preparation to get started applying your principles learned from your books, this site, and videos, e-mails, outlines, scripts, etc. from your successful students. Those of us who are perhaps getting impatient will better see the value in the hours, days, weeks spent setting up an office, equipping it with supplies, forms, etc., setting up an 800 number, a website, while continuing to read your books for direction and answers. These things are just as much a part of our success as phone calls, mailings, driving around looking for distressed houses, stopping at the print shop for copies of fliers, and all the other things we all have either done or are working on getting done.

I went through a period not too long ago when I felt myself showing and feeling signs of depression when I realized how long I had been “getting started“. Thankfully, I’ve had a lot of therapy in my life so I was able to get myself back on the road. When I think of all the things I’ve done to get started and I realize how helpful those things will be when I finally pull the trigger on my business, I am thankful that most of those things I’ll never have to do again. I’m getting closer and closer to the point where my days will be filled with finding deals, contacting buyers and completing the transaction, then off to the next deal. It’s very exciting.

Thanks again for the thought-provoking message! God Bless You!

Have a great week!

Terry and Susan

Thanks Dean

Your message, as always, is very inspirational and personally one with great timing!

What I am taking from this is that we are ALL different and need to remember such. Stay positive about the small things we accomplish and use it as motivation to our overall success.

Thanks again for being spot on!!

Thanks Dean

Thank you for another great blog. Dean I have to say you hit the nail on the head on the way we feel about our REI. We are closing on a deal in the first part of Oct. We know it is a small deal compaired to other successful students on this site. It has taken us over a years time after joining the success academy to get to this deal for what ever reason. (no falt to the academy or other Dean resources). We have used Dean's books teachings in the past to buy the the house we live in with no money down and walked out of closing with money, thank you Dean. What my point is, to us this is a big deal in our REI life.

We received a personal loan to buy this property 100% of OPM. That's a big deal. The property was a HUD home auction we won for 15k and that's a big deal. (again it may be nothing to others on this site but to us it's a big deal). The last assessed value in 09 was 52k. It is a small 3/1 in a nice small town.

We live in California and the house we are buying is in Indiana that's a big deal to step out of a comfort zone. Thanks to Dean and others on this site that have done out of state deals. We have family near this house we are buying and it is getting other family members excited about real estate investing.

The information from Dean the academy, Edge 2010 with the set for life and other students from this site has helped others we work with. We share what we have learned from all of this with co-workers to help them get good deals on a home for them. And that's a big deal.

I have gone on to long I just wanted you Dean to know this blog really hit home with us and thank you.

Steve and Veronica.

Thanks so much Dean!

You are such an inspiration! This week's blog really encouraged me because I'm realizing I am not a failure just because it's taking me extra long to accomplish that first deal. Right after I began with real estate a little over a year ago, circumstances beyond my control hit big time (we all have them!) I'm so anxious for my schedule to allow me to be able to focus on this daily. It's coming and so is my first deal. I WILL BE ONE OF YOUR SUCCESS STORIES and it will be extra sweet because it's taking much longer than the "ideal." I AM NOT A QUITTER! When I look back over this past year, I certainly have gained a lot of knowledge; people know I'm involved with real estate and have contacted me plus I'm getting a power team together in spite of all the setbacks. I helped a family avoid foreclosure and found housing for another family who lost their home to foreclosure. Even though I haven't made any $$$ yet, I believe there's a purpose in my desire to help others with their housing needs.

Thanks so much Dean for letting us know you recognize it takes a lot longer for some of us to accomplish our goals and we can still feel good about it. Every step we take puts us one step closer.

This is really the first time I've written (other than to wish you a happy birthday) because I don't want to say anything "wrong." So adding this comment is a step in the right direction for me!

Thanks again to you, Dean, and all the DG family who sincerely care about each one of us and want to help us become a success story.

Jackie

Thanks for taking the time to share another weekly video blog with all of us. It is so true that in life we have lessons and at times some lessons can be little more costly than others. It is also true as you indicated about being happy for what we accomplish. I try to be happy for the 5 out of 10 things that I might accomplish on my to do list why before, I would beat myslef up for not getting all 10 completed. Thanks again for ths insight. We wish you continued success in all you do. Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

SIMPLE STEPS

keepmylifesimple's picture

Hey Dean,

Every week I tell myself,
"I think THIS was the best blog for ME yet!!"

THIS week's blog has hit on what I personally think is the missing piece in why so many of us are scared.
I think if the missing piece is filled, you will have a HUGE NUMBER of people being your future SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS!!

Many people need Baby Steps or
"ONE SIMPLE STEP AT A TIME!"
I know I do. Just hearing something like:

"All I want you to do this week or month is FIND A GOOD REAL ESTATE AGENT to start your team.
Post your experience on this blog to tell us what happened!!" -------

sounds DO-ABLE because it's ONLY ONE TASK!!!

As a suggestion: the next week, your blog can discuss what people's responses were after they made the effort to get the real estate agent and how to handle the obstacles that came up with those who couldn't.

After the majority have gotten that down, then you can tell us ONE SIMPLE Step #2 and so on.

I think this principle applies in SO MANY things in life.

Look at all the diets that have come and gone.
Those that stay around are NOT COMPLICATED, but SIMPLE and EASY to follow.

The same applies to looking at a HUGE pile of papers or clutter. It looks monsterous and scary but if we pick up one thing at a time, it's not so scary after all and seems DO-ABLE.

I think of that quote: "The journey of a thousand miles begins or began with a SINGLE STEP!!"

How about "SINGLE STEP REI" ? Smiling

Thanks again for your humility in recognizing that everyone shouldn't compare themselves to you or anyone else--we should only compare ourselves to OURSELVES and as you mentioned to set SMALL goals--SIMPLE Steps--to get to our bigger goal.

We can call OURSELVES "one of your SUCCESS STUDENTS"
even when we FIND THAT AGENT!!

The thing I hope everyone appreciates too is that, if you wanted to, you could put a price tag on these blogs for sharing the knowledge and wisdom that you paid and continue to pay thousands of dollars to get.

My FAVORITE thing is that you don't ever say:----
"The ONLY WAY is the Success Academy or The Edge Event" but you admit, even those that only have your book or if they can just come on this site CAN DO IT TOO!!

To me, that's one of the BIGGEST things that sets you apart from the rest. Smiling

What do you think about setting up a separate blog for "ONE Simple Step at a Time" or something like that for those who desire to take it slower?

Perhaps, the ONLY way to view the NEXT blog (incentive) would be AFTER we have DONE step one, such as "Find A Good Real Estate Agent"

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts and ideas!

Warm Sincerity,

Patty

Thanks Dean!!

Sometimes I get a little frustrated with the fact that I've been working for so long to make my Real Estate Investing a success but I haven't made my first deal yet. You've reminded me that the path I choose from the beginning wasn't the quickest but it was the path that will be the most automated in the end. I've been spending the past year getting my business up and running and getting all the "behind the scenes" work done such as my LLC, my website and my 1-800 number with COA set up. Well, the LLC is in place, the website is finished and I've written the scripts for my COA account. I just need to record my voice mail messages and then I can start marketing myself and my company. The reason I needed to be more automated is because I work at night and I don't have a lot of time off during the day to get things done. I look back and I see how far I've come and I'm proud of my accomplishments so far and I look forward to much success very soon.
Thank you for reminding me to remember where I started at and where I'm going.
Best wishes to you and all of the DG family.

Rick

Dean,
Thank you for the encouragement and the reminder to acknowledge our successes. Always looking for the next step, but "patting ourselves on the back" for what we have accomplished so far. Thanks, I needed that!

Thanks Dean this hits the nail on the head. I am the poster child for DG as moving at a snail's pace. Life definitely gets in the way, but thats life. Feel as I take three steps forward and twelve steps back, yet everyday I get up and bush off the knees and keep moving. Your blogs
do encourage me! Keep them coming.

Change

I can't tell you how pleased I am that I came here. I just started on a path to improve myself and part of my meditation is telling myself that I have a sense of satisfaction. That I can see progress. It is so important to feel good about what you have accomplished. It does so much for your state of mind. I had a friend who once told me "I can never be happy", "I always screw everything up" Well I'm sure that that trend will continue as long as he tells himself that. The mind is a powerful thing.

Thanks

Dean as always you are on point I just told myself that last week not in the same word as your but my mind set is there. Keep up the great work Dean I'm working to sale my first home

Wow, I'm on the right path

Hey Dean,
Thanks again for the "hold your chin up" cheerup.
I have been on the right path, doing the "baby steps," to getting that first deal done. Thank you for inspiring me to do even more. Please keep it up.

Hi. Its Bob and Sandy from Topaz Solutions Inc. We have been members of the success academy for the last 15 months and because of my own fault haven't made a deal yet. I'll save that for another time, but that is all about to change. We are now members of the SFL program and are on our way to finally changing our life and be set for life. I just finished watching the Edge 10 videos for the second time and have everything I need to look back on referenced to the disk # and the hour and minutes so when I need it I know where to go. I want to personally thank Greg, Joe & Stacy, Carol, Matt. Thank you all so much for sharing everything you did, on how you all made it work for you's. It did just what Dean said it would. It re-lite the fire in me and nothing is going to stop me now. For the last 4 weeks have made my list of goals and have completed every one of them, if not on time then I did the next day along with that days goals. We have a great agent using Matt's method's. She has hooked us up with a good attorney, accountant, rehab people, bank that has no seasoning, and credit repair people. Is that cool or what???. Our flyers are out and bandit signs are out, people are passing out our business cards and I'm making our videos next week to put on traffic geyser and post on Craigs list and we joined a REIC this week. Were going to 3 auctions to get more buyers on our list. This is really going to happen for us and Sandy can't wait cause she is sick of hearing me talk about it, but she does have faith in me and in real estate. But most of all I want to thank you Dean Graziosi for being the best of the best at what you do and that is to give us the education, the wisdom and knowledge and the motivation to get us out there and take action. We can not wait to meet you in person cause we will be one your greatest success stories and I can wait to share it. Bless you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!
P.S. we live in buffalo N.Y.and would love to talk to people that would like to market and network together and anyone else in the DG family
thanx again dean and everyone have a great day and a great year!!!!

just staying at it.....

Thanks againg for the Bolg,,they seem to keep me going,im still going at it,in the past ive put most of my indevers down by now,but you keep with the attued that we can all do this, and im sure that it can be done.well i no it can be done, ive read about hundreds that have done it from reading your forms,Thanks again Dean.

Thank you, Dean

Thank you for the encouragement. I needed it because I get frustrated with myself a lot for not moving forward and being scared, while others have so much going for them. I feel like I am stuck with just studying the materials and absorbing the knowledge. I am trying to think and be positive that I can do this. I have no one to push me up. Thank you for all that you do. I will always be grateful.

Greats words

kimanismith's picture

Thank you Dean once again for those great words. Some times you think that you can just post one ad and get rich but thats not reality.

Once again you have set us on the straight path to success and we all have that person that we would love to become, but in reality that will not happen.

As you stated we all do that at times and this is why I am taking your advise and patting myself on the back for starting to change my life.

Thanks once again and for everyone to have a great life.

God Bless
Kimani

Thanks Dean!

What a great message, I work as a full time RE Broker, my husband and I are working on getting "our business" up and running. He too, has another full time job. There are days that I think we did not accomplish enough and your message really hit home. Each day we are working towards our goals and I want to thank you for the inspiration and all of the great information you provide. I looked back at what I have accomplished just today, and when I look at the big picture, know that we are working our way to success. I get so excited and there is so much that I want to accomplish! I have already made some great contacts on DG.com alone and cannot thank you enough for all that you and the DG family does to support one another! Thank you with all of my heart Smiling

What Should Be Our First Step?

keepmylifesimple's picture

Hi, I just wanted to post and ask a question based on a couple of previous posts.

I noticed that some said they are first trying to get their LLC and office set up first.

Is that in the Set For Life course? Is that why a couple people said the same thing they need to do first?

Dean, do you recommend that all your students start with setting up a Limited Liability Corporation first and if not, what first?

Thanks again for taking the time to do the blogs.
Having the visual aid of you talking straight to us is POWERFUL and appreciated!

Patty

Great Blog

Dean you know just what we need to hear. Everyone of your blogs just hit home and some weeks it's just at the right time. Some of us just get caught up with today - tomorrow and forget to take a moment to see where we were. Each little step adds up to big ones. My problem is I have lots of time but cannot seem to control it. When your all by yourself and no one to talk to or anything time is either very slow or goes by very fast. I have to learn all over again to stucture my time to get all of the things I need to or want to get done. So all of you out in my DG family please have patience with the people around us because this can all be taken away in the blink of the eye. On the up side I do haave all of you.

Thanks,

Bertha

what is success ?

hi, i just want to say thanks for the video blog and for keeping us on track as you always do funny thing happen to me after doing all the things that you and some of your coaches and some of your most successful students said to do. i had gotten a partner, and a real estate agent . when i met to sign the buyers agreement with her she had ask me and my partner had we had any success and YOU KNOW WHAT I TOLD HER I TOLD HER IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS IS. she said money i laughed to myself cause as you pointed out in this blog we always have things to be grateful for some people look at it as money but as you pointed out in this blog it's not always the case. cause since i first came to your sight i had meet alot of people here on this site and many others AND TO ME THAT IS SUCCESS i had gotten real estate agents AND TO ME THAT IS SUCCESS i had gotten brokers put ads online put up bandits signs and even gotten buyers all over the us and TO ME THAT IS SUCCESS AND I WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE ANY OF THIS AND TOOK ANY ACTION IF IT WERE NOT FOR YOU AND THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE AND TO ME THAT IS SUCCESS

AS ALWAYS
YOURS TRULY

Close to home and heart and head!

This blog was very good for me to hear. As I am the person you speak of or at least to. I am struggling right now. This opened my eyes to praising myself for the things I have accomplished even though it's only 1 deal and 1 birddog deal too that I sometimes forget about. I know now just like you said do one thing. Even the success academy coach that I last spoke to told me to do just one small step a day. This blog just put a new light in my eyes so thank you from the bottom of my heart!
