Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #313: What Is Your PERSONAL Mission Statement?

In this week’s Weekly Wisdom Dean discusses the importance of finding our own personal mission statement.

Because when we have the ability to find our own mission statement we then have our directions… we get our map to that dream person we want to be... our destination.

And when you hear what Dean has to say in this week’s Weekly Wisdom you will realize that there is a life out there that you are destined to live... a life intended for you specifically, and you don’t have to be pigeon toed or stuck in a life that feels just a little off or that you don’t love every second of.

If you want it... if you want that dream life... it is attainable, and in this week’s video Dean will share with you how.

Time to write it down!

I've never really crafted in words, on paper, my mission statement. I love the assignment! Can't get there if you don't know where "there" is! Thanks Dean. I hope all the DGfam gets on board and maps out their lives' intention! Just remember to leave room along the way for the surprises the Lord has in store. We can't dream as big as He:)

Ah! This is timely

I was working for a candidate running for City Council doing some phone banking and while I was doing that I wrote a mission statement. It is simple, nothing complicated.

MY MISSION STATEMENT
I am truly a FREE SPIRIT and I have the FREEDOM to do whatever I please to do. I CHOOSE to enjoy all that I am BLESSED with and I want to make a difference in the lives of others with my life. My business and my mission is about helping people that I have the privilege to come in contact with. My days were ordained for me by my God and so I know that I will be helping some people at times without even knowing that I have done so. DO WHAT I NEED TO DO and things will change for the better.

WHAT I STAND FOR !!

Jay Sthilaire's picture

Thanks Dean for pushing us to find and follow a crystal clear destination. Luv the way you push us !! Here is my personal mission :

business persona-REAL ESTATE INVESTOR " specializing in " Rent To Owns "

What do I stand for - GIVING,TEACHING,INSPIRING OTHERS,SELF IMPROVEMENT, BUILDING CONFIDENCE, DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING MINDSET

What do I stand against-PUTTING OTHERS DOWN. LETTING YOURSELF DOWN,

Super powers for desired persona -lifetime learner, PATIENCE in teaching and learning ,creative, different. Persistent , determined ,GIVE first

Good Message

Good message, but it is also interesting why motivation and positive thinking is always at the core of real estate investing. Over the years, I've read a lot of real estate books and listened to a lot of experts and the one thing they all have in common is the constant message concerning motivation and improving of thinking skills. In most books, it seems more than 1/3 is devoted to this topic alone. So much so that the actual teaching of real estate fundamentals are often times rushed through. I wonder whether this is intrinsically related to real estate itself or do other career or profession choices also require such a high rate of motivational skills in order to succeed?

I think too much time devoted to this topic will dilute the purpose. There is just so much that can be said about motivation and positive thinking, at some point action into real estate investing must be taken, otherwise, it will be a perpetual study of human psychology.

Great Weekly Wisdom Message.

Truly needs to be done --- without it, you are just running around in circles. Just having it in your "head" isn't enough. Need to write it down and post it to see every day like your goals.

Thank you Dean!

Love, love, love this Weekly!!!

Thank you Dean, for giving us this assignment!

I've thought about what I want to accomplish; I've written down my goals; but I've never thought of having my own mission statement!
I am so excited about doing this, because I seriously need to have a clear destination of ME and WHERE I'm going...

You rock!
Valerie

Great weekly Wisdom Dean!!

Dean when you mentioned the topic on people you need to push away or some drift away on their own, it really hit home with me. I have many friends that drifted from me because how I change the way I think and started to look at life differently. Like you mentioned there was some friends that I pushed away but then their were others who drifted a way themselves. I don't have a problem with it because I know I'm on a mission to becoming a better person in all aspects of my life.

Having a road map is

Having a road map is definitely important. As you alluded to, it will keep you on track and also help you to create boundaries.

Mission statement.Wisdom #313

I joined DG when he started the "set for life" program.I was stuck in a rut,in a relationship that her and her family were all naysayers. She flipped out because I was going to do this.I didn't think I needed permission to do something to improve our lives. Now I regret all the time wasted, and where I could be at this point. That relationship is now over,so I have to start over from where I left off.I'm not sure where to start, but writing a new mission statement is a good place to start.I've learned the hard way, don't let anyone steal your dreams. My mission from now on will be to take care of my mom,who is 80 years old,my kids, and my grandchildren. Thanks Dean! I have a lot of catching up to do.

Hey Dean

john.hervan's picture

I know that I have to have a mission statement just like I have one for my Landscape Design Business. It keeps us focused and when we follow it , it keeps the wrong people out of our lives. I appreciate all the weekly wisdoms that you send us. They all keep me focused and working on myself. I have lost some of the passion that I started out with and with my NEW MISSION STATEMENT I can get moving in the right direction.
My old Mission statement was to be a landscape designer that would bring "A sense of serenity and tranquility back home to your backyard to help you relax in comfort".
I will work up my "NEW MISSION STATEMENT".
Thanks Dean

My Mission Statement :)

elizabethvitale's picture

To be sure my daughter has a home she loves, she owns and she enjoys the memory of me inside. Shawn works very hard every day. I want to see her happier than the happy she is now.

Looking forward to completing my mission statement

Thanks Deans for all your encouragement on completing a mission statement. I am that person you gave an example of I get all hyped up for a couple of days or weeks and then I lose my focus and I'm back down again. I have my goals, but It's not like a mission statement. This mission statement will help me stay focus. I looking forward to completing my first wholesale deal. I love the encouragement that the DG family gives to one another looking forward to receiving and giving encouragement myself.
On my 30 days to cash book we will see what happens.
Once again Thanks Dean for all you love and support

down but not out

Hi Dean,
The personal mission statement blog was great, got me right between the eyes.It was just as you said,I've been on a roller coaster for quite some time now. here is what I've done: talked to realtors, bankers, gone to auctions, driven neighborhoods, looked at houses on line, newspaper ads, etc. Looking forward to getting my first deal, banker telling me my credit looked good, then here comes the IRS talking about a tax lien from 2006. long story short just got ****ed and went in a funk. However I am a little more focused, thanks for the great blog.

MY MISSION STATEMENT

How true... I need to have have direction in life other wise I go in circles, no goal in mind and who knows where I may end up....have a great week!!

MY DESTINATION IS CALLING ME...

CandC's picture

On this mission to be a REI, though have not done a deal, has alienated me from negative people. I noticed that being with negative people I depart with the feeling of wasted time. I will think about what would be a mission statement, never thought of it. Will create one, yours is really great and genuine. And Lately I have felt dead inside, got to set goals, get the dream back. I want to be optimistic, friendly, and would like to help people, really got to work on myself. TY

My Mission Statement's Latest Version

drcharlie98's picture

I've written my Mission Statement before, and given that is was promptly forgotten, it probably wasn't really mine.

My Mission Statement should be: "To keep healthy for as long as I am alive; to live each day on its merits; to contribute to the happiness of those around me".

My Mission!!!

Thanks Dean, I have made a paradigm shift in the last 6-7 days and made a breakthrough in my life. My IMAGINATION. There it is. Thing have been happening so good because I think about good. Here is a perfect time to make a mission statement. I have seen my life out of control both ways and now you are right. I need to make a road map and this is exactly what I needed. I am willing to change. I am super effective is a great start. Thanks Dean.

Pledge Aligence to the Swag

saelua's picture

Before I go to sleep, I think real estate. When I wake up I AM real estate. And so that is my "swag", and I" pledge my aligence."

My motivation comes from my kids and my little family. My wife and l are doing this for our kids. This is my mission. But thank you Dean for being persistent with the weekly wisdoms.

There is no doubt........

AndyS's picture

that knowing where you want to end up makes the journey and all it's pitfalls, much more tolerable and enjoyable.
I believe, that I have found my true purpose in life. It's not what I expected, not where I thought I was heading anymore and not where I set my goals to end up, but it brings such joy to my life, gives it a better purpose and helps others along the way. Not a bad thing in my eyes. The good part, even if I am proven wrong and this is not my "true" mission, at the end of my line, I will have had one hell of a ride and will not have hurt anyone along the way. Not a bad way to live, I say. Smiling

Thanks for another great WW

Mission Statement

thomgilbert's picture

Hey Dean!
I watched your ww earlier this week and did not want to post until I had a complete Mission statement but I realize this will be a work in progress to create a few flowing sentences so I have been brainstorming what is important to me:
-creating financial security through passive income to free up my time to spend with my family and to inspire, help and give back to others to take control of their lives.
-being the best dad, husband, son, brother, and friend I can be
-abundance mindset
-living with passion in the now
-exercising daily and taking care of my body
-continuing to grow/learn/progress with my own personal power
-contribute beyond myself, be humble and build up others around me

I'll keep working to put this into a statement which I want to hang on the wall as a reminder.

The other point you brought up which hit home was about friends drifting out and growing apart. Sometimes in the past I felt lonely in this journey I'm on as many believe that someone who is strong, focused and determined does not need encouragement but it can be lonely when you feel no one can relate to you... My own family, you and the DG family have really helped keep this fire going!

Thank you for all the encouragement and make it great week!
Thom

Another great message. If you don't have a mission statement now, make sure you have one for 2015... and stick to it! Look in the mirror, you yourself)are a perfect example of your own mission statement for others to follow. Eye-wink
