Real Estate Investing Weekly Wisdom #297 - Has Dean Lost His Mind?

Has Dean lost it? I don't know, you tell us! This week, Dean takes some time to explain a new battle strategy to conquer your mind! Are we at war with our thoughts? Unfortunately the answer is an astonishing YES so make sure you watch this video to learn how to stop your brain from taking over your body. It's time to live in the now, have prosperity, enjoy your family, enjoy your surroundings and most importantly, enjoy everything right here in the moment!

Whoa! Yes now, in the now- - - -

I am sitting here trying to get a grip on myself for real. I am a real dumb bunny - no joke. First of all I know that is a negative thing that I am calling myself a real dumb bunny but it is true. You work your tail off and go to extremes to get us to be successful and I fight it for some unknown reason. I am almost sick of trying to reason things out with myself and with my brain on overload. I am telling myself on the other hand to KISS = keep it simple stupid. That last word is one that I eliminate from my vocabulary at all costs because it is poison. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Why on earth would anyone try to or even think to retreat to a w-2 minimum wage job when they have the opportunity to make literally thousands of dollars? On top of that it is difficult for an elderly lady like me to get such a w-2 position. Joel's message today is "The Rain is Coming" so I will walk in Faith. Sorry for my tirade here Dean. A part of me wants to scream and the rest of me says to chill out and get busy doing something even if it is wrong. On top of that I am reading a book titled "Yes is the Destination and No is how you get there". Talk about a head trip! Mental, emotional, intellectual support is what I could use right now. I need hugs from my DG family. I know I will survive and everything is going to be alright but I feel some pain just now. I pray for understanding and Praise God from whom a blessings flow. Love to all/

"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes."

Joyce Meyers has a great book called "Power Thoughts" that deals with controlling our thinking.

Thanks for sharing and caring - as always.

Thank you Dean, for another wonderful Weekly Wisdom!

I read the book two years ago when you first recommended it, and I also thought that it is a powerful book. Reading great books, doing meditations regularly, attending seminars by amazing people like Tony Robbins... they all help me stay rooted within.

Valerie

Dean, how are you and family? You hit the nail right on the HEAD.Thank you for those nuggets.

Thank you

Thank you Dean for a great start to my day!

Take every thought captive...

I once read a quote that went something like, "When the philosophers and the scientists crest the summit of knowledge, they'll find the theologians sitting there waiting for them." 2 Cor 10:5

Disciplining our mind to remain in the present is so tough, partly because it's a habit that often starts early. I'm already seeing my older kids (ages 7 & 5) bring up the past when they bicker, and I realize that's the beginning of an unhealthy habit. We're working hard as a family on resolving conflicts and dealing with tension by focusing on the circumstances we're in right now, with one eye on the vision of who we want to be in the future...

The mind is the battlefield.

The mind is the battlefield. If you can beat it in your head, you can beat it in life. Thoughts are important. As you think, so are you!

Master the now rather living in thoughts/past experiences

Dean,
Have you ever heard of the Landmarkworldwide.com ? This is hands down the best training on controlling your thoughts. My family has taken this course. They have them for 8 year olds, teens, and adults. They are international and have course in Phoenix for you to check out. I just used your process and their way of eliminating negative thoughts and should have my 1st property closed at end of month. It's in escrow now. Best of all the course is less than $600 and will elevate your student s results. I acknowledge you for your training you provide for people like me with a family and who knows nothing about real estate investing. I am confident now, about taking the actions you teach and the difference they make for my wife and I to build a new room for our child with the profits of our first deal. It couldn't have come at a better time.

Thirsty for mentorship,

Jeff

Yo, yo, yo, brain?

Negative Thoughts

Dean this is a great follow up to removing people with negative attitudes from our every day lives. Great Video, Thank You.

THOUGHTS...

CandC's picture

Be mindful of Him, our thoughts are louder in Heaven than our words. As a man thinketh so is he. I think about that often and I want to get deep into it. I especially do that when someone says they are brain dead and they are alive, so who are they where are they? And another saying your are what your eat, read, think.

Great message Dean!

The the battlefield IS in our minds . Bring every thought into captivity. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2

Those negative thoughts about ourselves come from dark places. Ephesians 6: 12-13.

It is amazing that we have had the information about controlling our thoughts for 1000s of years.

One other example comes from Proverbs 23:7. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

When what a person says is backed up by The Word than I know what is being said is accurate.

Thanks Dean!

I will read the book.....Thank You.....Smiling

You Are So Right!

I've been learning these concepts for a while now, and it is true. We have so much more control over our thoughts and feelings than we ever thought possible. It works, we just have to be intentional and persistent!

Lost and Found

I can think about anything I want. I could worry about "What if everything goes Right"...Your working on some deep stuff Dean but were with ya...Dan in Seattle..

If you're stressed, you're thinking about your past or future..

Dean, Thank you soooo much for your weekly wisdom about Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power of Now". I started reading it when you mentioned it last week or so, and now I understand how my thoughts have practically controlled my life, and got me stuck where I am now (I have not done a deal yet), and how to get unstuck from my negative thoughts. After listening to your explanation today, it became more clear to me that "Our thoughts are NOT who we are" and that "we have to CONTROL our thoughts." While I was listening to your weekly wisdom, I was interrupted by Verizon who called me about my complaints of my phone since last week, and I am so stressed out again talking to Verizon where they passed me again from one department to another, from one person to the next, without giving me the specific telephone no. and the name of the expert person to call, and still they did not solve my complaint(s). So I re-listened to your Weekly Wisdom again and feel relieved and not stressed out anymore. At least, now I know how to release the stresses and negative thoughts which have been bugging me. Thank you for sharing this excellent nugget of wisdom. It helped me a lot. Rosalind

You'are so, but, so RIGHT

Thanks Dean

No, you did not loose your mind

No, Dean you did not loose your mind. I just finished reading a book by Joe Land "Unleashing The Power Within" which goes along with what you were talking about. Your throughts are not who you are. This book talks about your Lower Self and Highter Self. Who we really are on the inside and who we think we are on the outside. Two totally different things completely.. Great book.

I recommend this book for anyone that needs help with negative throughs and the villian within us all.

Great read

Hey Dean!

Outstanding ww and so true. Our minds can create stories that are not who we are or who we can be. I have to constantly remind myself of this and keep dreaming big with shirt term and long term goals.
Thank you for all you do!
Make it a great week!

Thanks Dean so much for sharing! I quit focusing on the past a while ago. My focus has been on what God wants me to focus on and He opened the door for me in Real Estate Investing. I prayed and prayed for God to show me what I needed to do because I hated my job and pressure I was under in my job I quit A YEAR AGO THIS MONTH. It hasn't been easy but God has lead me and guided me every way and He has put you here to help people like me. Thank you Dean.

Donna Doo's picture

Absolutely!!!! our brains can fool into self doubt which will hold us back...

Must push on and stay focused Awesome message Dean.

Dean, you're so right :)

Every day, I try to keep this as my motto:
"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, Think on these things."

Also something to remember is that our brain needs protein.

Thanks again for your insights.

I wish you were with me the other week.....

AndyS's picture

Dean, if you had joined me on my latest fishing trip up to Maine the other week, there would be no struggle between your head and your soul. The peace and tranquility of the area I went to takes all that away. It gives you an overwhelming sense of joy for the now and the splendor of this world. ( And catching a lot of fish didn't hurt either Eye-wink ) I came back from that trip invigorated and ready to conquer the stresses of life. Only this time, I have a visual to fall back on when life gets too hard because it's these hardships I must endure to get me back up there. It's my reward. It's my little piece of heaven.
I was taught, long ago, it's not always what you think but HOW you think that matters. Maybe that's why I joke more, laugh more and enjoy more even while having less in life. I do my best to enjoy today and hope & plan for tomorrow. It's a less stressful way of being. I wish we all could live this way. Maybe this WW will get more people there. If you're "over the edge", I'm right there with ya Eye-wink

Till next week.......
