This week, a stuffy nosed Dean has a challenge for you that is going to put a big smile on your face.
Bigger even than the $100 gift from last week.
If you've been following the blogs the last few weeks and taking on the challenges, this week is going to be a welcomed relief for you. Watch and see!
Relax
You must have read my mind,I just got done making sauce and meatballs, that's what my granddaughters asked me for when they called this morning. I always made Sunday dinner for my kids and grandchildren, but have not done it in a couple of months. It felt good to have everyone around the table laughing and joking around. It's nice to here them all call me Papa.
Thank You
Jim Kendrick

Spot on Dean!
This is so true especially when all of us are thinking what to do after this and that. I think there has to be a time where we need to relax and stop stressing over ourselves about money and do what's fun. I have to say, there are times where I worry too often and it is absolutely nerve-wrecking.
Dean
I must admit, I always take your challenges to heart, and yes I do them. I think this will be the first one i want be able to do ' My whole week is planed out. I am actually headed back to Utah early WED morning. And yes Monday is baby sitting day with my 10 month old grandson. But he is going with me to collect money. But I will try to take a little time out of my life Sunday for Julie and I to do something. If I don't make it Sunday I will make sure I get it in Monday before I head back to KC. I just can't say enough about what you do. Well I guess this challenge will be just a little late. My glass is half full at all times. So I will get it done.
Thanks Dean

Blog #101
Sounds like a great idea.
"A Time to Laugh and... Skip About"
Hey Dean!
That was SUCH a heartwarming blog!
Thank you SO much!
You are handling your cold well.
Hope you feel better each hour!
Let us know what YOU decided to do fun to chill out this week!
The info in this week's blog did come at a great time because right now I became aware of someone in my area who is losing their home on November 12 !!
I wasn't looking to find this person, but someone else I know told me about her.
In this situation, I am trying to be a finder of a cash investor.
Because this is my FIRST DEAL and the imminent situation of the owner, I FEEL like I shouldn't even ask for a Finders Fee but I know that the fee will come from the investor.
I am trying to help the owner so she can STAY in her house.
So, as someone else mentioned, it has got me questioning things and feeling down too, even though I know that it is a Business being a Finder and I need to help my family too.
I did want to share that your challenge brought up something that makes a connection to last week's challenge about "Time".
I know many of you here will know the band that
sings a song based on this, but right now, I can't think of their name.
Maybe someone can post the answer if they read this comment.
OK, here's the clue:
"For everything there is an appointed time, even a time for every affair under the heavens: a time for birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what was planted; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to wail and a time to skip about..."
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-4)
So, this week's challenge is like "a time to laugh and... a time to skip about."
I'll try to post later on what I decided to do to have fun.
Have a FUN week everyone!
Patty
Fun Blog

It was a productive week.
I want to enjoy the journey.
Looking forward to the fun challenge.
Hope you feel better. God bless ya!!!
The Byrds!
"For everything there is a season" - straight from the Scriptures, but it was the Byrds that sang that song. I'm old enough to remember!
Dean, great idea. Life is so sweet. We need to embrace it.
I had an amazing experience at the Insiders Edge this weekend with Big Keith, Little Keith, Matt and Bob. What a team! I'll be meeting you (finally) in Vegas the first weekend in December for the Buying Summit. I can't wait!
DG Fam, I'll be writing a review of my training weekend for you all soon.

Thank You Dean
For another great blog. We have been hard at work on our last deal back in Indiana. My Mom, Dad, Sister and her family are still doing some painting for us on that house.
This weekend my daughter has a frind from So Cal coming up and we told her we would take her and Brian to San Fran this weekend. Dean your blog was very good timing.
Dean thanks again for the tools to put our last deal together. I feel it has brought my family closer together trying to help each other out on this project. We are looking to buy a secound house in the same area.
Steve and Veronica.
Look forward to your weekly blogs...
Thanks Dean, what I am getting out of each week is not just a weekly challenge, but something to consciously be aware of. I am on this site more often than putting the TV on for instance. Whenever I find I have a little extra time I am making it about real estate...researching properties, making contacts or reading other peoples stories. And so on... I am going to a rei meeting tomorrow night about 45 min. away. Which I would never even known about if I wasn't listening to your blogs. So thank you, again and hope you feel better soon!
Barbara
DONE!!
The whole reason I was late responding to this week's blog was because I was out doing something that I enjoy doing. I was out at a bar, Old Chicago, in Mesa, AZ. They have karaoke from 9pm to 1am and I have gone several times and despite the fact that I know I have tons I want to do and I really did next to zero with REI this week, I really wanted the time. Today, Nov 1, is my birthday and I wanted to make sure that I celebrated the fact that I'm still here, I'm still going strong, and I still WILL make REI work for me! But not at the expense of all enjoyment.
Thanks so much for reminding us of some of these simple tings, Dean. It's almost like you're also a newbie telling us what you're going through and it jives with what many of us are feeling. Have a great week Dean and everyone else!!

I rearranged my schedule over the weekend so I could go trick-or-treating with my wife and daughter, we had a lot of fun. I think I'm going to take some time and throw the football around with my son. Perhaps we will watch a show tonight as a family.
Thanks for the great blog,
David
Will Try! - Thnx for the Pos imput in my families life.
Dear Dean
I've read two of your books and been on this site since about Feb of 2010. I hate to admit this but I just locked up my first deal. Maybe some of the others can relate to me. I haven't been the guy to sit on the side trying to summon up the courage to do this. Right away I got a buyers list with one classified. (Great suggestion which works). I've been more like a guy with his pedal to the metal doing brody's all over the place trying to find something that would work for my situation. Well I did finally get one locked up this past week and that's the main thing.
I just locked this up but time is short because the bank postponed it's auction once already and they don't want to do it again. I've been scrambling to find someone who wants about $80,000 in equity on a $330,000 dollar investment(based on last 3 months comps for 3,000+ sqft homes inside the gate). Some of the buyers on my list feel this is a little slim. It's also confusing for some of them that they see it in the MLS as a short sale for $300,000 and think they should be able to get it for that, even though it's under contract now with me.
Here's a point for the Riverside people interested in doing deals in Canyon Lake. Make sure any comps you run are actually inside the gate. If you use the zip or city name in your search it will pull comps from outside the gate in quail valley along Goetz road, which generally runs quite a bit lower.
Anyways this house is a very cool 3,470 sq ft home that sits up high on a golf course with a great view (but the street is the same elevation as the main living area which means that there are no stairs to access this incredible view. The house is on a hill so when you get to the back of the house the view off the balconey is incredible. It must be a good 40' or more above the fairway (sets back too so no stray balls). It is located in the gated, recreational community of Canyon Lake, Ca an hour and a half North of San Diego. It also has another aprox. 1,000 sq ft roughed in that can be added to the sq footage so it could be almost 5,000 sq ft with an estimate of about $30,000 in work (based on one estimate).
I'm kind of nervous about getting this sold (okay very nervous). This is my first assignment or investment house. The next one will be much easier, I'm sure.
Thanks Again Dean for everything you do for us. Your encouragement to keep our lives in balance is a good word for us. Specifically to the point of this week: I know that Bear Grylls who is a British Special Forces guy that teaches survival, often emphasizes the importance of doing things to lift your spirits when you are in a survival situation. He believes that it is critical. Even the smallest things like lighting a campfire, looking at a picture of your family. Anything like that can make a critical difference. Many of us are in survival mode so if a tough guy like him thinks it's important to do something good for yourself to lift your spirits, it must be a good concept to carry out. Thanks again for everything you do for us Dean - especially giveing so many of us hope by helping us to believe we can do this. Mike
Thanks Dean
It being Halloween yesterday my son is 21 and always running I never get to spend time with him. Yesterday, we carved our pumpkin together.I haven't done that with him in about five years it was nice. My favorite saying is all good things come to those who wait, you just have to have faith.
Ps his name is Deane with a E on the end.
Thanks,

Absolutely! Believe me when it comes to "Things to do overload" I am the Queen... With 7 children, a new home and Real Estate I have neglected to make time for me. I could sure use it...
I am going to take time this week and walk the beautiful lake that is up the street from my new home. Just take the time to absorb the beauty of fall as it surround the lake.

Enjoy Life It is One. And it is Yours!
Thank you Dean as usual just a great Video/Blog.
Most of the time we get cut up with lots of things in life that are meaning less. And some time we for get about what life really is and the concept of it. During the weekend, on my job to stay away from negativity I stay at my mom’s house and I have realize how lucking I am and what a great life I have. Even thought, it caresses of the basics things in life. Some time we take things for granted and for get all about what we really have. Family values, love of your family and what make us happy in life. Never the less, the essence of life and what it means to live and appreciated what we have. For example: What make you happy and smiley. It/that thing bring energy to your soul and you become young again.
Get well soon with some Natural Tea with Lime and Honey you will be like new. It is all natural and full of vitamin C.

Great Blog!
There's nothing like taking an education break! When you've been spending a lot of time racking your brain around concepts you aren't familiar with, it's a relief to get your mind concentrating on something that brings you automatic happiness! Awesome advice Dean!
Dean,
Happy Halloween and thanks for doing another weekly video blog, our tasty treat for the Halloween season . It is so true that sometimes we need to take each day as a gift and do something we enjoy or use to enjoy but feel we no longer have the time. When I was in corporate America it was always a rush, day in and day out. Half the time, I never even realized the change in seasons. This year the leaves are more colorful than ever!
I believe I am seeing things that I previously missed because I was in a hurry. When we are young we see things differently. However, it is ironic because as we get older we become wiser however we often lose that vision, desire, and belief that anything is possible. Now is a perfect time for living our lives through the eyes a child.........our childhood.
Have fun and believe that anything is possible as long as you have the determination and the vision to chase your dream! We wish you continued success in all you do! Believe and Achieve - Joe

Getting out of the house
I take care of my Father full time and he IS a handful. My Mother and he have been long divorced but once a week I go out with Mom. She is my best friend. We go to breakfast, find something fun to do and get the grocery shopping done for the week. That's the extent of my time off. 6 hours a week. This Sunday (my usual day off) I couldn't get anyone to come and take care of Dad in my absence. My regular sitter was ill. I had to stay in. This kind of restriction can really bring you down but it's the only logical way to take care of Dad without tapping the only thing he has left...his home. The sale of this home (owned free and clear) would pay for his care for 3 years. Then it would be gone. My Sister (unable to help on Sunday) offered to come sit with him while I go out with Mom on Wednesday. We will go to breakfast and catch a movie "Red" before we take care of the business of groceries. My Mom says I'm a saint to take care of my grumpy old man but when I need help they all rise to the occasion. Since I couldn't go to the store Sunday my Daughter brought me some groceries and my Sister stepped up to come later in the week so that I can have my 6 hour respite...Whew!... Thank you Dean for reminding me that I deserve it.
Thank you
Thank you Dean, I know you have not heard from me for a while, but I am studying and learning. I think I might be one of those over analysing students. I will soon take the action I need to do. I have my advisers so, no excuse. I been faced with certain obsticles, but I am still committed to do and folow up what I want to do and be. Thanks Dean for the very informative, inspiring, and encouraging video blogs!
