This is a great post.

Scam artist already exist long before the internet age. They are everywhere. I was scammed 4 Times before before a engage in REI and i'm still thankful for the lesson I learned from it. Do your own Due Diligence. Blessings to all. LA

Your right, you always have to be suspicious of people until you check them out. Save trust for those you know. In banking they always tell you to be suspicious of the 3P's, Preachers, Politicians, and Police. These are people that we are suppose to trust

Bill, I, Not only agree, But, 100% I agree. I never think one minute That people would do that, until it Stopped me in my tracks for two weeks to know that even here they bring their DIRT and DECEASE. I will hope they read your blog. I do not have my Portfolio up But I am waiting or February 2011, I have benefited much from this site even though I do not Post much But I will pay more attention Now, since I know I am not the only one who notice this.

...for the heads up warning!! I have been a member on the site for awhile, I have my profile done, and (like i have tended to do in "real world time") I give everyone MORE than enough rope to hang themselves--after that I usually let 'em swing in the wind!! It's a sad, sad shame that even in a site where it is supposed to be a community of people who are trying to help each other and give encouragement to one another there are a few rotten apples trying to ruin things for everyone! Guess it's the anominity of the Internet that gives them the thought of hiding themselves.

I had a discussion with a few DGers with when I said as much as I like this site, it presents a false sense of that 'kumbaya' and 'We Are The World' mentality that easily allows people to get crapped on.

This site is about making money. The people on this site are about making money. There are new people on this site who constantly talk about making money and talk about doing anything to make money. How can any of you not realize that there will be frauds and scheisters lurking???

We just went through a housing issue where people were scammed and defrauded; what makes you think Deans site would be immune to this??? There are people who blatantly promote other sites, use multiple aliases, lie and say they are investors when they are clearly not. Notice the pattern???

I'm not condoning this because I myself work by a strict code and very serious about this and fee bad everytime I hear a disaster story.

Keep your eyes open. Deals come and go. Never be afraid to ask questions.

This is real estate, not fantasy land.

I agree with Elix 100%. I post my wholesale deals on craigslist even that I know that a whole bunch of scammers are always on complete monitor of that site, but I still get a lot of calls from legitimate cash buyers. Scam artist are everywhere in all kinds of business.
