Debt Free ????

That might be a great goal for an regular individual, but I've always thought the premise of OPM (other people's money) rules! It seems that most of the people/students that are looking to get into REI have little to money or credit...

Thank You Dean

Thanks for doing another weekly video blog for all of us. Mark Victor Hansen and David Bach had some very good points to share. As we learn and grow it helps us to create goals for now and the future. Thanks for sharing the message that can help us as we all continue and grow as real estate investors. We wish you continued success in all you do! Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Thanks for another good blog. I really like how you share with all your students information and concepts. Sometimes in life you don't find many people, if any, that do that. But it is always great to know you are giving from the heart.

I have my list of 101 goals and then some, so let me get that violet marker out and start putting my victory word next to each of my accomplished goals.

Take care and I hope you and your family have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Great blog, great lesson.
It's taken me some time to get my REI going but I see now how all the little pieces when put together create something wonderful. I've taken action and am getting results. Just the simple act of giving someone a place to sit at my table during a meal out, led to a tip on a potential deal. If all the players are in line, it will be my first deal. It all came from taking Dean's tips and putting them into action. You truly get what you give. You have to give first.

Till next blog...

So many wonderful points. Can't wait to do my 101 goals! Also, I so agree on the paying off debt. I am refiing ALL my loans right now to 5 years (and my primary and secondary to 7 years) with the goal of being able to pay them off before they reach that time period. TO think, If I didn't have ANY mortgages on JUST my rentals, my income would be $7600/month (over $91K/year) after taxes and insurance costs for the properties. And, I'd cut away over $1,700,000 in interest costs. That is the kind of freedom that sets people free! Forget the mortgage interest write off, there are SO many charities I could give to.

There, I've made this goal public, now, onto making it happen!!! Laughing out loud

Dean, *slow down*! :)

Seriously, we all love listening to your blogs. You don't have to worry about how long they are! In my humble opinion, the longer the better Smiling

Ok, I'll sit down and write out my 101 goals. At first thought, it doesn't seem like there will be that many, but maybe I'll surprise myself. Thanks, Dean Smiling

pay down mortgage

freedomliving's picture

One thing I do is on my 30 years mortgage i pay extra as if it was a 15 years mortgage this way if I struggle in any perticular month i can fall back on my regular payment:)

Thanks for all the great content you always provide. Also I can agree with smurfy lol that I wouldn't mind watching a longer video... well, have a good one dean and god bless you and your family Eye-wink

Favorite blog!

Thanks Dean! I'm always looking forward to your new blogs every Monday morning and this one is truly what I needed! 101 goals... no problem! Paying off mortgage early... well, when I get to that point I'll be sure to do this too. Giving as I receive... easier said than done when things are hand to mouth. But I will definitely get back into giving!

Thanks again!!! Laughing out loud

WOW !!! 3 in 1

Dean, you never cease to amaze me. You have more money than you will ever need. You still appeare to be a caring person. You really do care about others. I believe your unspoken secret is that you surround yourself with successful people at any cost, and you share yourself sacrificially with others who are not so privileged.

Mortgages

Captain777's picture

I have thought about the recommendations in this weeks blog. If I borrow money today with a 30 year fixed rate, then when inflation hits, which I am told is going to happen soon, I will be paying back that mortgage with "cheap" money and the rate remains at the agreed upon price. It seems to me that today is the day to finance as much as possible and use the money to make more. Buy more properties and finance them as well. We probably won't get as good a deal in our lifetime as we can today. Imagine paying back a mortgage with a payment of $400 or $500 per month when rent rates are $1500 per month. Not bad. Ultimately, I don't want to pay off any mortgages and I want as much GOOD debt (debt being paid by OPM) as possible.

Inspiration

Thanks for the new blog.. I think this applies to all three of you. aspire to inspire before you expire... you all seem to have been able to do this.. Thank you so much.
