Thank you Dean for once again a great blog. You can call me a dreamer. In fact the name of our LLC is Creekside Dream Investments. Dean you are so right about dreamers being successful people. I know we still have a long way to go to be successful in some peoples eyes but in the eyes of others we are very successful. Dean we have you to thank for that. There is a lot of other students on this site that have encouraged us to do better and I thank them for that.

Dean thanks for shareing what you learn with us and being a great mentor that you are. I know for a fact that when we do a great deal you get just as excited for us as you would be if it was your deal.

Thanks Dean for all that you do for us.

Steve and Veronica.

Wow, this is a first....

I've never been the first to post on a weekly blog. That's a change from the norm Smiling
How appropriate that it should be on a week that focuses on changing your mindset. This is the first change for me.
Thanks Dean for part one, can't wait for part 2 and more. Time for more abundance!

Have a great week!

Find opportunities and if you can't find them, CREATE them!

Sure am glad I can post on this forum again! Smiling Thanks for reiterating the importance of having an attitude of gratitude and the importance of always keeping positive. There is a seed of triumph in EVERY adversity, we just need to find the real lesson behind it.

"The man of genius inspires us with a boundless confidence in our own powers." ( Ralph Waldo Emerson). In my opinion and in my books, you are this type of a man! Smiling

Thank you Dean for always posting something useful, and positive that encourages people like me and helping all of us here believe in ourselves and our capabilities that drive us to try and take action to reach higher heights!

I look forward to meeting you at The Edge! May God continue to richly bless you and your family!

Again, you are sharing with us what you already have learned. You are so selfless to do that and I appreciate your consistency and dedication to every single person who has already made it, is in the process of making it, or wants to make it! No other site on the internet offers more investing knowledge or experience than you offer.

Dean, I have to tell you how much I respect you for saying what you had to say in this weeks weekly wisdom!! Coming off the abundance, capitalism and entrepreneur side of the sheet is what truly leads to success. Not only in our private lives and businesses but the whole world!!

Thank you for standing up and saying so!!

I have said many times I owe everything to you and the success academy. I care about and appreciate all you have done and do. On top of all that, you have now earned my RESPECT out side of REI!

May God continue to bless you and your family,

Michael Mangham

WOW, My brain is WHIRLING!

Thank you Dean,
You hit the nail SQUARE on the head when you mentioned those whose parents had lived through the Great Depression, and the "Scarcity mindset" that follows. Mine did, and hardly a conversation goes by with my Father these days without him moaning about how we're in "The SECOND Great Depression"... Love him dearly, but he's one of those "Negative Nellies" I have to try and avoid while I build my business and get my OWN foundations set.
Thank you for this blog, the Abundance mindset is a GREAT thing to have running through my head as I head off to my bed! I WILL shape my world to be a more positive place, filled with light, love, laughter and opportunity!

Blessings!

P.S. Looking forward to part 2, and I will be watching this one again, probably several times! Laughing out loud

Great stuff!

Gatorade

Weekly wisdom is like drinking a cup of Gatorade after 2 days without water. Life is full of lows and highs, these videos are inspirational and keep me thinking positive. Ive learned to ignore all the naysayers in my life accept for myself. Once I conqueror me, Ill be free.

Scarcity vs. Abundance

I am looking forward to next weeks blog to hopefully learn how to fly with the Abundance mindset instead of walking!

"I want to use my talents in a way that will be fun, fulfilling, and really profitable. I know I can do that."

Valuable Life Lessons

JennyInMalibu's picture

Valuable life lessons!

Jiminy Cricket, Dean! Very valuable and well received thoughts you imparted! There will always be the Haves and the Have-Nots (abundancy versus scarcity), and if you want to get to the other side of the fence, change your mindset and shake it up!

Maybe you should partner up with someone or someones, and pool your capital, including: time to find properties, set up buyers and sellers lists, funding sources, rehab skills and sweat equity, negotiate, track costs, marketing and sales, networking, travel to the bank!, etc. Some people may be better at some of these skills than your partner, so break it down and/or find resources to get these things done.

Probably one of the most important videos you’ve made so far, Dean! I tip my hat to you! Thanks!

WOW

As always Dean we look forward to a GREAT weekly wisdom and you never disappoint. This one was fantastic. Brett will see you in AZ can't wait Smiling

If you are not Dreaming than your not moving.

When I was in school the teacher would say "stop daydreaming".
I'm glad I didn't stop, because my mindset now is about achieving those dreams that I have. Thanks Dean for giving us the opportunity to pursue our dreams.

Much success to everyone.

Dare To Dream

bevjbear's picture

It was about 10 yrs ago that I came up with my company name....Dare To Dream Enterprises. Yes, I can definitely say that I have a dream...but it is also now accessable. Will be on the outlook for the "How to find Buyers". A bit more difficult here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada but I will persist and I will excel. It is my dream to make life easier for my massive family and extended family. Real Estate Investing brings that Dream SSSSSOOOOOO much closer:)

Thanks Dean So Much!!

I have had the Scarcity mindset for a while. Never thought I could switch over to the abundant mindset and really start to make things happen. I am now going to make it my mantra to continue with the abundant mindset. I will be at one of your events tomorrow look forward to the information. I have quite a few questions and I will be networking as well with other like minded investors. I am having a little issue so far finding REI clubs in the Maine area. I feel if I can't find one soon I just might start one up myself. Thanks again to YOU and all the wonderful investors on the site. I can't wait to get to know everyone and to also be on the helping side of things. Thank God for you Dean and everyone here.

Thank You Dean for this Weeks Weekly Wisdom!!

I like the information chart you shared with us. These things are good motivators and reminders to us. I am surrounded by people that think scarcity, but I don't let them hold me back. I know that I think scarcity a lot, but some of this I think is healthy, as it keeps us from jumping in things head first. That said, I think too many of us have more scarcity mindsets than we ever dare to admit to. I see my mindset shifting about being able to succeed as as rei investor. Before it felt more like a dream, but I have worked almost full time on a daily basis since joining in August of last year, and things now don't seem like I am just being a dreamer, but a doer. Ready to help make the world go around!

Keep Dreaming!!

rresnick2112's picture

Great Weekly Wisdom Dean, we all must keep that dream alive! Its what drives us to be that better person in family or business or any aspect of life. Cant wait for part 2. Thanks for everything you do and especially thank you for caring; it helps to keep those dreams alive!!

You only have to put down earnest money on offers that are accepted.

Its your choice how much to offer for earnest money since its your offer in the first place.

Let your agent know you won't be putting down earnest money until the offer is accepted, if they refuse then find a new agent.

Many agents try to get people to put earnest money down on all offers since they are lazy and don't want to do the work.

Hey Dean -

SouthsideJohnny's picture

Again - you've hit the nail on the head!

Naysayers, or "Dream Stealers" as I call them are a dime a dozen, in my life. As a matter of fact; I have a Dream Catcher on the wall in my bedroom as a reminder when I hear too much negativity around me! Yes, it's just symbolic, but I take great stock in it, as I NEVER EVER stop dreaming of success. SOON, my dreams will be reality!!!

Keep 'em coming Dean!

Thanks for all you do,

John

Thank you for another wonderful Weekly Wisdom.

DebraAnn's picture

Hi Dean,
Thank you for another wonderful Weekly Wisdom today. I am looking forward to hearing your weekly wisdom next week as well when you will be talking about how to find buyers. When I broke my leg I wasted a lot of time because of negative mind set. I felt there was nothing I could do. But when you taught us on lying to ourselves and make a list, I did.

Today was great as you were teaching us how to stay positive in negative surroundings. It is all in the way we think.

I might not be making money now but I am studding Real Estate Law from our housing Department Book and a book on small claims court from our local court house. And taking a class on restoring my credit. So I can get the best loans on the market.

I am helping my father market his 3 commercial units, not making my self money but helping my family to make money. I have looked for REI clubs that my car can go to, so far no luck. So I am going to try to start my own REI club. I am looking for R.E. Agents. So I am doing more than I am giving myself credit for. I might have been hitting brick walls in a lot of the things I have tried, but today was saying don't give up, don't look at it as hitting brick walls but look at it different way until you find something that works. In other words as you always teach us don't think like everyone else think outside of the box.

Today was a really great reinforcement of how not to lie to yourself. Look at what you can do and are doing and give yourself credit for trying. You might not have made a deal or made money yet but as long as you don't give up one day it will happen. Just have faith in God and ask God to help you have more faith in yourself.

I need to keep reminding my self when things look the worst is when God can come through the best.

Tomorrow if I am blessed I will be trading my cast for a boot. I am just praying I can drive again after tomorrow so I have the ability to get out there and drive or maybe walk the streets again.

Dean when you talk next week on finding buyers can you give us a few ways to do in when you are not able to get out to go to REI clubs or even meet people at an auction. I know we can use the internet but not don't completely understand it yet. I cant wait until I can drive or find someone to take me to an auction where I can meet some serous buyers.

Got to run as I need to study for my mid term I want to do well on my test when I take it today .
Dean I thank God for you and everything you do to help us.
Sincerely
Debra Ann

Ok, NOW WHAT?

MattNJ's picture

Ok, Dean, this is great stuff, it gives me hope.

But I sure hope to God that in the coming weeks you're going to tell us HOW to get over into the abundance side.

Because some of us are far into that scarcity side due to severe Depression, Anxiety, Panic, emotional and mental Exhaustion, No Motivation, livign day in and day out with constant negativity looming over us, and just being broken people that feel like we have no end in sight. So we Believe can't do it alone, everyone knows we can't afford to go to these retreats, and so we look to you for the answers. That would be the best gift or training ever.

I am a Dreamer

The Scarcity Mindset Is Hard To Let Go Of!!!

Captain777's picture

This is a wonderful admonition. I have and am so tempted pine over all of my yesterdays. I have been very active and successful in years past. These last 6 or 7 years have been devastating and it is hard to avoid the scarcity mentality. I am striving to move ahead. I have gotten Dean's and his team's encouragement, Joel Osteen's encouragement and even Robert Morris of Gateway Church. I am determined to move to the Abundance Mindset! Thank you again for the reminder and the continued admonition Dean.

Dean

Thanks very much for a great lesson.

Even though many of us have worked very hard to become positive thinkers, it is easy to slip back into that scarcity mode very quickly. We certainly need these reminders.

Looking forward to Part Two

Karen.

Powerful information lesson

Dean, you are my best mentor and teacher ever. God love ya! I have learned it takes a great deal of effort and continual focus to achieve and live the abundance mindset. I like to say "its a beautiful day and endless opportunies abound no matter what else is happening". We have to make it a good day and protect our thoughts. To gets from scarcity to abundance takes eliminating the negative and accentuating the positive. Look and what is good and shun the bad. Praise the Lord. Thank you and I can't wait for part two.

THANKS

PaulYoung4ever's picture

As always, thanks for sharing what you know with us. Although you don't always see the results, I can assure you that every thing you say is being received and appreciated.

Thanks

gcomstock's picture

It is always good to reminded of how important mindset and thoughts are. Actions follow mindset. Can't wait for part two. Thanks again for the opportunity to check the current mindset.

Great Message and...

I saw this on my twitter account this morning:

Dear Optimist, Pessimist and Realist. While you guys were arguing about the cup of water. I drank it. - The Opportunist

I thought that went so well with your message today... we should all become opportunist.
